Hey all! Sorry for the radio silence I've had a crazy busy week with work and also been a little run down with a cold.
Glad to see everyone is doing well and lovely to see some more scans/ gender updates @SH998 @Charming81 congratulations!

I am 15 weeks on Tuesday @Sangels267 so very close to you date wise :) my 20w scan is on the 21st Nov, and we are having a private gender scan at about 16 and a half weeks, I can't wait to see our little one again! Baby has consistently measured a couple of days bigger but they are sticking with the IVF date.

That babygrow is so sweet @ASGIRC! And I may have to get one of those bunnies too @IVFfirsttimer91, so lovely.

I have continued to buy the odd thing from vinted and have also picked up a few things from Facebook marketplace, a free moses basket and room thermometer- feels early to get these things but it feels silly not to when they are free and we are trying to save money for mat leave.

Is your gender scan tomorrow @wtawtaw? I look forward to the update!

Would you all believe I have just over a week of pessaries still! And I've got to stay on my blood thinners the whole time apparently due to a previous medical issue, so lots more injections.. All worth it though. I am very excited to stop the pessaries, may have a little celebratory glass of fake fizz 😂

ASGIRC · 15/10/2023 06:18

@IVFfirsttimer91 How lovely! how was your dinner party??

I havent been in a postition to host since I got pregnant, but now that I can face cooking again, I really want to start hosting again!

My Saturday was... ok. LOL Ive been on really early shifts at work (look at me posting at 6 am! I am already at work!) so havent been getting enough sleep, which has made me a bit miserable.

On Friday I was exhausted and decided to go to bed at 7.30pm, thinking Id get 8h sleep that way. But because I went to sleep so early, my body thought it was a nap, so i woke up at 11pm... And then couldnt get back to sleep until 1am... For a 4.30 alarm!
And then I had a friends bday party! But the party was amazing, I had loads of fun, and it was well worth it!

Last 6am shift today, so looking forwar to a nap after work!

@Walker12 Still on the pessaries?!?!?! How?!?!? Why?!?!?!? That definitely sounds like overkill, and also, a decision by someone who has never had to use them!!! It definitely feels like a lot, in pregnancy, is based on pseudoscience. I bet you if it was men getting pregnant, wed have none of this bullshit!

Free things are always worth it, even if it is early! Because it means no money spent!

I have decided on the tub Im getting and thats really exciting, but also... How expensive are baby tubs?!?!??!

SH998 · 15/10/2023 09:30

@wtawtaw Good luck on todays gender scan, please keep us updated 🩵🩷👶

IVFfirsttimer91 · 15/10/2023 13:11

@wtawtaw good luck for todays scan!!!!

@ASGIRC the dinner party went really really well thanks! Made so much food and we drank so many bottles of non alcoholic fizz 😂😂 but it was so lovely. I am absolutely destroyed today though. It took it all out of me lol!!

Fortunatley I have a lot of food left over so I don’t have to cook anything for dinner tonight 😂.

The lack of sleep is really a killer! I hope you’re off the early shifts soon and can get a proper nights sleep!!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 15/10/2023 14:40

Hi @Heartfulmomtobe!! How are you feeling? The TWW is intense! We are all around the 4-5 month mark here but you are absolutely welcome to join us! There are probably other groups for people in the TWW as well on the infertility page but I haven’t checked for a little while! Is this your first? Welcome aboard!!

Enjoy your post work nap @ASGIRC, I don't envy you with the early starts!
I think the nice guidance for progesterone is 16wks so that's just what the consultant has stuck to (but that's more for recurrent mcs, I've had one) I'm so close to the end of them now so don't care too much but I'll be very happy when they finish.
@IVFfirsttimer91 dinner part sounds lovely although I'm not surprised your tired! I feel like our bodies tell us when we need to slow down don't they :)
Best of luck with the tww @Heartfulmomtobe

ASGIRC · 15/10/2023 19:25

Today was the last of the 6am shifts, at least for the next week!
Days off from tomorrow, then Im still on mornings, but on the second morning shift, which is at a much more reasonable time of 8h30!
Then I have another 3 days on the early morning shift, but we dont know how early that is yet (usually it is 8am, but if theres anything overnight, then it gets bumped up)

I had a lovely 3h nap, in preparation for family dinner at my moms tonight. Im still feeling sleepy, so Im sure I will sleep well tonight!

@Walker12 yeah, just being near the end is the best!!!

@Heartfulmomtobe good luck on you TWW! Like theyve said, we are way past it now, but hope it works out for you!!!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 15/10/2023 21:21

@ASGIRC those shift patterns would destroy me. I have enough trouble rolling out of bed for a 9am start 😂😂. I’m 100% here for the 3 hour naps though.

ASGIRC · 16/10/2023 01:03

@IVFfirsttimer91 yeah, Im not a fan either! Im not a morning person AT ALL!

On Wednesday, Im on my favourite shift, but it is one we dont have very often - 11 to 8. Its not too early, and then you finish in time to go have dinner! It is perfect!
I dont mind the 1pm-10 pm one, as usually you can leave after 8, so still available for dinner as well.
I dont like the 4pm - 1am, but only because it is relentless, in terms of work. It is the busiest time of the day, every day, and often you dont even have time to take your dinner break, so you end up working the whole 9 hours, when it should only be 8! But I cope well with it, as my natural bedtime is around 1am, so it works well with my circadian rhythm.

Fortunately Im not doing graveyards anymore! I would not be coping with them right now!

wtawtaw · 16/10/2023 07:56

I'm gonna bring another BOY to our gang 💙🩵💙🥰😍

Every scan we have just makes it so much more real, so in love with this little one already 🥲

IVFfirsttimer91 · 16/10/2023 09:35

@wtawtaw congratulations on your little boy!!!! 💙💙💙

@ASGIRC thank god for no more graveyard shifts! A full 9 hours with no break sounds horrible!!

Charming81 · 16/10/2023 09:59

@wtawtaw welcome to your little boy 💙🩵🥰😍

SH998 · 16/10/2023 11:13

@wtawtaw congratulations on seeing your little boy, it feels so much more real when you can refer to them as a he or she :). We now have 1 little girl and 3 little boys :)

Charming81 · 16/10/2023 11:39

So, as of yesterday I have a new feeling. I was on the sofa and I had my hands on my belly. I felt some sort of contractions/movements. I think I really felt him moving properly, like a little blob sliding 🤣 I don't know if I can explain it well. I have the doubt they might have been like muscle spasms, but I prefer to think it was him. I felt them again this morning.

IVFfirsttimer91 · 16/10/2023 11:42

@Charming81 yes!!! That is exactly what I’m feeling too! Like sliding around and poking!!!

OP posts:
IVFfirsttimer91 · 16/10/2023 11:43

So we have 2 scans to go right? Who is next!! Can’t wait to find out!!

OP posts:
wtawtaw · 16/10/2023 11:49

Thanks everyone! So @Walker12 and @ASGIRC to find out now is that right? 😊

Looks like we have 3 anterior placentas too!! Boo to not feeling movement for a while.

@Charming81so glad you got to feel movement 💙

ASGIRC · 16/10/2023 13:13

@wtawtaw congrats on your little boy!!!! Does he have a name yet??

Yes, my scan is on Friday, and hopefully the baby will not have their legs crossed!

I think @Sangels267 might not know either...Or at least I dont remember if she does! Apologies if Im forgetting!

@Charming81 yay for movement!!!! That must be really exciting!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 16/10/2023 14:03

@IVFfirsttimer91 love that, absolute bargain!!

Sangels267 · 16/10/2023 15:47

Congratulations @wtawtaw on your baby boy 🩵

Yes, you are correct @ASGIRC I don't know yet...we are probably just finding out beginning of November. Because we want to do a gender reveal party with the family.

@Walker12 I turned 15 weeks today, my 20w scan is on the 20th November 😉

ASGIRC · 16/10/2023 15:51

My 20 week scan might be the last one, then! Mine is only on the 24th of November!! :)

IVFfirsttimer91 · 16/10/2023 16:22

They are all SO cute and so TINY. Yet so big at the same time? Can’t believe that this little bean is going to fit them in less than 5 months time!
