@wtawtaw for the placenta, it wasn't in my report either, but I have asked specifically if they could tell me where it is positioned and they did.

SH998 · 13/10/2023 13:36

Thanks all, I’m so happy and my instinct was right 🩵
Ive always thought from day 1 of finding out it was a boy, I just had that feeling, is it motherly instinct lol. Also the embryo was a 5BB plus a medium told me on March 21st she could see me with a little boy within a year, I’m due 27th March so not far out.

@ASGIRC ive just checked my report from last night and my placentas the same as yours? I’ve never heard of this or been told it’s a problem. Is it cause for concern?

ASGIRC · 13/10/2023 13:39

@SH998 Not a cause for concern in general.

But it might mean you wont feel the baby as soon, as the placenta is in the way.

It can cause some issues in the case of a C section, depending on where it is, but it is not concerning in any way!

SH998 · 13/10/2023 13:40

@ASGIRC thank you, that's good to hear :)

Charming81 · 13/10/2023 13:47

@SH998 Well, I am the exception because my embryo was grade 1 and looks like grade 1-3 they are mostly female 🤣

IVFfirsttimer91 · 13/10/2023 14:14

MW appointment went well, all bloods fine nothing to worry about. :) heard her little galloping heartbeat at 154 bpm. Loved it!

Hi ladies.

@SH998 I feel ok after finishing with all the medication. As @ASGIRC said I was just too excited to stop with the pessaries and the mess they caused 😀

I have had my Flu jab on Tuesday and on Wednesday I have started with an awful cold, I wish I could take some Cold&Flu tablets 😬 at least it's not Covid.

Congratulations to everyone that knows the sex of the baby now 🩷🤰🩵 I love all the names!

I feel like I'm the last one for the 20 week scan as I'm only turning 15 weeks on Monday.

ASGIRC · 14/10/2023 07:16

@Sangels267 I think maybe @Walker12 is about the same as you!

I have now officially bought my first baby thing!
I saw it yesterday, but resisted, but then went online and it was half price!!
So I got it!

It's unisex, which is great, and also, since this kid will be born around Easter, it seems very topical! 😂
My mom keeps calling the baby the Easter Bunny 🤣🤣

SH998 · 14/10/2023 07:25

@ASGIRC i love it, you’ve started something now. After my first purchase I just couldn’t stop, maybe you will be the same 😂

@Charming81 it really is a guessing game, you just never know do you 🩵🩵

@IVFfirsttimer91 glad all went well for you, what bloods do they take from you or is it when they confirm the results of the bloods taken at 12 weeks?

@Sangels267 sorry to hear your unwell, hopefully that will pass soon. The 20 week scam be here before you know it

ASGIRC · 14/10/2023 07:38

@SH998 God I hope not! 😂But well see!

Yesterday I was being told about the horrors of the 2nd trimester glucose test... And Im not sure I wanna do it 😅

wtawtaw · 14/10/2023 08:15

@IVFfirsttimer91 glad your midwife appt went well and you heard a nice strong heartbeat 🥰

@Sangels267 sorry to hear you're feeling unwell too, mine came 4 days after the flu jab! I don't think it's a live vaccine so not sure if it just coincidence but it's not fun! Has anyone else has their flu jan and experienced the same?

@ASGIRC absolutely love that outfit, very cute!! And yes they test your glucose on your pee on the 16w midwife appt 😂

ASGIRC · 14/10/2023 08:18

@wtawtaw oh, no, its the proper glucose test, where you have to drink this horrendously sweet thing. It takes HOURS as well, cause you have to have your blood drawn, then drink the thing, wait an hour, do some more bloods, wait ANOTHER hour and more bloods!

Testing glucose on pee is easy! I had it tested on bloods on my 1st trimester bloods! (it was fine!)

wtawtaw · 14/10/2023 08:25

@ASGIRC oh that's ok then! Haven't heard of having that during pregnancy over here but I learn something new being pregnant everyday so who knows!

ASGIRC · 14/10/2023 08:47

@wtawtaw It is definitely done in the UK, as its on the NHS website. It is usually done between weeks 24 and 28. But I dont know if they do it to everyone in the UK or only those at "risk".

It seems it is widespread here in Portugal, but I might refuse it, if my glucose levels are fine in bloods. (they were at the 1T bloods!)

Sangels267 · 14/10/2023 08:55

@ASGIRC in UK they only do the proper test at high risk pregnant women.
I absolutely love the outfit 🥰

Charming81 · 14/10/2023 09:36

@ASGIRC my midwife mentioned it to me, but she said "we'll see if we need to do it".

So, you know how superstitious I am and not wanting to buy anything before the 20 week scan. My husband is in Italy ho assist her sister who has a surgery today, and she gave him the first presents for Noah. One is this little cute hat. The other one is a traditional Italian thing which is called "lucky/fortune shirt". It is a little white short that babies have to wear first thing when they are born, underneath their normal clothes

FET/IVF July 2023 - Thread 4
ASGIRC · 14/10/2023 09:41

@Sangels267 Thats what makes sense. Why do the test to people do have no risk factors? Just measure the glucose in blood/urine, like normal, and if that is then high, then investigate more!

@Charming81 hope you dont have to do it! I havent talked to my doctor about it yet. Im sure it will come up on the next appointment, as shell prescribe the 2T bloods and scan!
I will argue against it, since my glucose level on the 1t bloods was absolutely fine!

That is a very cute little hat! And you didnt buy anything! It was your sister in law!
Hope her surgery goes well!

Charming81 · 14/10/2023 10:09

@ASGIRC in Italy they do it as a routine check to everyone as well. I know it is awful. Many women are quite sick after

ASGIRC · 14/10/2023 10:25

@Charming81 yeah... I had a mcflurry yesterday and felt sick afterwards! I cant even imagine drinking a bottle of a very sugary drink!
I think they also do it as standard in the US, as lots of people on reddit complain about it!

Charming81 · 14/10/2023 10:56

@ASGIRC I am feeling extremely nauseous today. I was absolutely fine till yesterday. For dinner I had a Jacket potato (I made it) with cheese and beans (I made the beans as well) but I pretty much have not digested it! 🤢 It was delicious though 🤣

ASGIRC · 14/10/2023 11:11

@Charming81 ugh these symptoms need to stop!

I was really nauseous on Wednesday... I thought we were supposed to be over the hill now! 😂

IVFfirsttimer91 · 14/10/2023 11:35

Honestly guys, I don’t think the nausea ever properly goes away, I had two days this week where I just felt so so sick. Seems to have passed now but it totally caught me off guard!

Also.. my sister and I have been roasting our parents all morning over some hilarious but weird things they’ve done in recent years. It’s got me thinking that I can never do anything weird again after I have Eden 😂 never know what gets remembered and what doesn’t 😂😂😂

ASGIRC · 14/10/2023 12:44

@IVFfirsttimer91 Oh man, kids are ruthless, no matter the age!!!

My brother and I roast our parents ALL THE TIME! Particularly my dad, cause he tries to be funny.

Im sorry you had such bad days. Hope they dont come back!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 14/10/2023 14:31

@ASGIRC mum got the roast this morning. But every now and again we send each other the picture of Dad in which magazine after they interviewed him over a dodgy car hire ‘scheme’. That always brings fond memories of the photoshoot he did in the back garden flooding back, and then he gets roasted for days 😂. Thanks so much! I really hope they don’t come back too! I’m throwing a dinner party tonight and i was so worried that I’d wake up feeling bad again today. Touch wood i stay feeling ok.

you having a nice Saturday? I love the babygrow by the way!
