FET/IVF/ICSI - October 2033

Anyone due to start cycle/have transfer in October jump on board!

Little history:

TTC our first. Trying for 4 years. Officially unexplained but I only have one ovary that responds/works. Fertilisation issues. Positive Sperm Oxidative Stress Test (likely DNA Frag). So it’s really a bit of a mix.

Dec 22/Jan 23 - First ICSI cycle. 8 eggs, 6 mature, 2 fertilised. One poor blast to transfer. Nothing to freeze. BFN.

July 23 - Second ICSI cycle. Using AOA & ZyMot chip. 8 eggs, 8 mature, 4 fertilised. One fresh to transfer and 2 to freeze. BFN.

Oct 23 - First FET scheduled.

Currently waiting for my period to start so that FET cycle can start. Should start beginning of Oct, so FET likely towards end of the month.

@Rosesinbloom19 nearly all my follicles were above 19mm upto 22mm on day of trigger. I had one at 18mm.
Of the 7 I collected 4 were mature

@ViVRe thanks so much for that info, it’s so good to understand it at this stage and that not always does bigger mean better! I think I’m the same with a dominant follicle so chances are I might loose that one so it’s good to know that now 🥰

@Millie89xx I think it depends on each individual’s protocol. I had my last scan on Friday morning, I was told to do stims as usual that day…on Saturday I was told to do another suppressant in the morning and another stim (but 1hr prior to my usual time) and then trigger 1hr after stim. Collection was on Monday morning, 36hrs post trigger shot. So in my case, yes…they definitely wanted my follicles to keep on growing till collection. I believe it’s a case by case basis, depending on each person’s follicles size on that last scan and response to meds thus far. When they tell you to do the trigger I believe they take into account when last stim/suppressant was taken so that trigger is coordinated with time you will be there doing procedure and the follicles will be ready to be “sucked” in accordingly without risking of you ovulating when they (doctor/embryologist) are not THERE for it 😉 well, at least that’s my understanding of the whole shebang as it was explained to me at my clinic 😅

My clinic have just been in touch and have booked me in for egg collection on Monday lunchtime, was a bit shocked! 😱 but they said that as 1 is mature then they hope the others will be caught up by then and then we just hope there’s something in the smaller ones! 🤞🏻 it’s all starting to feel real now! 🥰

My CD10 scan went well :) my lining is 12.7mm and I now have 7 follicles (had 5 on Wednesday). I have 1 x 17.5, 1 x 16.5, 2 x 15.5, 1 x 14.5 and 1 x 11. Am continuing to stim over the weekend and have another scan at 9 on Monday. If all good then EC will be Wednesday. Looks like we are still on the same timescales @Millie89xx!

@Hopingforno2in2023 wow how in sync are we this is madness ! They sound good numbers .. yeah mine is 945 am Monday too and egg collection Wednesday I don’t know why but I am just stressing so bad about these follicles growing . I’m that down today feel like having a naughty Chinese but I have been eating so good I don’t want to jinx it

Don't feel down @Millie89xx, both our bodies are doing what they are meant to be doing. Everyone stims for different amounts of time.

@4thcyclelucky Thank you so much for your message. It echoed a lot of what I was feeling. The communication bit is really what is bothering me. Instead of it being led by my results, I feel like I’ve been put into a standard procedure which doesn’t seem to work for me.

Had my egg collection today and they got 2. I sobbed my eyes out when the doctor told me. Have spent the rest of the day eating pastries and feeling pretty sorry for myself. But tomorrows a new day so fingers crossed my little buddies get through fertilisation! Otherwise, back to the bakery for more pastries.

@Woaaaahnelly ah sorry to hear you haven’t had the best day …. They still could be the best quality eggs though ?? Did they say how many they was expecting to get .. be kind to yourself this is so tough on our body’s

I’m really sorry you had a disappointing EC @Woaaaahnelly. Be kind to yourself over the weekend and fingers crossed both your eggs make it to transferable embryos.

Yeah I’m definitely excited for Monday now, I was just a bit taken a back coz I had my first scan today! 😱 but all the advice I got on here made me think that it’s maybe better to go Monday for me so I don’t loose some…but see until you come to and they tell you what you have, it’s just a guessing game really eh!?

I am in a panic that I have ovulated overnight. I feel so much less full than yesterday and I have so much CM. It is going to be a long weekend 😭

I had bloods and a scan yesterday, if I was about to ovulate would it have been visible on those?

@Hopingforno2in2023 yes, they would have picked that up yesterday with bloods and scan. Are you taking a suppressant? If you are, then rest assured you will not ovulate. During stims I often felt towards the end that I was fluctuating between feeling very full and then nothing at all…most noticeable was after trigger, felt nothing - it’s like all fullness went away and I thought “that’s it, the eggs will be gone” 🫣 but I still was peeing more frequently than usual even if not feeling full (not only because of the ridiculous amount of water I was taking) but also because there was less space there, so rest assured your eggs will be there if your clinic is monitoring you closely. How’s your liquid/water consumption going? Talk to your eggies/follicles and tell them to cooperate 😅

@Woaaaahnelly keeping everything crossed for you that these 2 eggies turn into amazing blasts/embabies.

For those of us that retrieved little numbers (I only got 4 eggs myself), my sister in law was telling me about her friends that were doing IVF and how some had retrieved many eggs but none of good quality so sadly nothing came out of it, but her one friend who did it and got 1 egg only, was the one that was able to have a baby. We often talk about quality over quantity, and it’s hard because as each step goes the numbers certainly decrease BUT I have decided to take the approach that no matter how many eggs I get in the next months, each will be viewed as MY GOLDEN EGG, my little boy and/or my little girl…as long as there is an egg in there then there is a chance! 🙏🏻

Yes @Hopingforno2in2023 I'm sure they'd have seen a super ripe follicle that they'd be worried about it it was there to worry about! Crazy amounts of CM is totally normal. And logically, if you'd ovulated it would be drying up probably? Try not to panic 😊 I think everyone has that worry at this stage. If they were worried they'd have change something and they wouldn't have left you a few extra days of stimming if they thought it was a risk.

@Hopingforno2in2023 ohhhh you won’t have I have this drama everyday until I see some clear gel that puts my mind at ease my bloating has also gone down maybe that our body’s are used to it now ? I’m sure with us both being scanned yday they would of known if there was any signs we have to trust them as had as it is 😂

Thanks all for the reassurance. I woke up with a flat stomach and feeling normal so panicked but am now back to looking 6 months pregnant so that is reassuring.
