FET/IVF/ICSI - October 2033

Anyone due to start cycle/have transfer in October jump on board!

Little history:

TTC our first. Trying for 4 years. Officially unexplained but I only have one ovary that responds/works. Fertilisation issues. Positive Sperm Oxidative Stress Test (likely DNA Frag). So it’s really a bit of a mix.

Dec 22/Jan 23 - First ICSI cycle. 8 eggs, 6 mature, 2 fertilised. One poor blast to transfer. Nothing to freeze. BFN.

July 23 - Second ICSI cycle. Using AOA & ZyMot chip. 8 eggs, 8 mature, 4 fertilised. One fresh to transfer and 2 to freeze. BFN.

Oct 23 - First FET scheduled.

Currently waiting for my period to start so that FET cycle can start. Should start beginning of Oct, so FET likely towards end of the month.

Well that was another disappointing app. They are getting there 16s and 15 11s but they need them over 17 so I’ve got to carry on until Monday .. getting to me today feel like crying feel like my body is slow responding 😭 hope everyone is doing ok

@Rosesinbloom19 I also had my first scan today, day 8 of stims. I had 8 folicles which were between 12-16 mm and probably another 8 that were below 10mm. The doctor seemed happy with it and said I am progressing nicely. I also have another scan on Monday and potentially looking at egg collection on Wednesday.

@Millie89xx it seems that you are also having some nice size folicles and that you are progressing as you should no? What day of stims are you on? Plenty of time for them to grow until Monday 🙂

What will be will be, we are already doing everything that we can and got to trust our bodies.

@Millie89xx what day stims are you on? I had estrodial priming at the start so mine grew a lot slower (as compared to past cycles) albeit more consistently. They might up your dose towards the end of the treatment, mine was increased on day 12 and 9 mature eggs collected. Hang in there!

@Melisss yeah just a little bit behind I mean I’m acting like it’s the end of the world it’s a rollercoaster this

@4thcyclelucky day 10 I’m taking meriofert 300 of a night and cetrotide in the morning ?? She said another scan Monday then possible egg collection Wednesday

@Millie89xx oh for sure, the rollercoster ride is real. It`s ok to have a bad day though. I think you are doing great, you are nearly there. Just one more tinny stretch.

I'm currently 2 days post egg collection and really sore still 😥 I don't remember having this the first time round. I think the progesterone has made me a bit constipated (tmi sorry!) And that's why I'm feeling a bit tender. I'm hoping it's that and not signs of OHSS. I'm drinking fluids like you wouldn't believe and eating lots of protein. This is such a long journey and the more I think about it, the more I'll feel disheartened if I can't go ahead with a fresh transfer on Monday. I know I need to stop worrying, what will be will be and I'm doing everything I can to keep my body in good shape but I suppose it's mostly out of my hands now!

Bit of a random question but when I received my medicine i didn`t get the trigger shot. So we asked today about it and she said we will give you that on Monday (assuming I am ready). I assume we will have to do the trigger at home in the evening no? Or did she mean that they will give me the shot?

I think I'm going to relax and catch up on a boxset today. I feel like ive barely been out of bed all week. Other half has had a crazy schedule at work lately and its usually late when he returns so it's been a long and lonely week 😢

Im pretty fed up and bored now, and I've not even made it to the two week wait 😭😭

@Kitt86 ah that’s brill! Mine wasn’t ready for Monday collection so I’m still on another 2 days of meds .. good luck for EC

@Melisss could be different in your clinic but my trigger was done at home

@Millie89xx I had scan on Wednesday and was hoping they were going to do it today, but I had to carry on meds until today and be rescanned.... But rationally we both know it's worth waiting an couple of days if it helps result in a better egg haul 😁
I really don't know what to think of the size and quantity, but no doubt I will spend my afternoon consulting Google. They don't really give me any feedback about whether things look good or not.
Yesterday tho I felt done with stims. Ovaries felt achey, I kept crying about pretty much nothing, so horny- I may have broken my boyfriend🫣🤣 definitely ready to stop them now.

that’s so funny ! I’m sure he’s loving it . So how many days have you stimmed 10 or 12? Are you taking your trigger at home. ?

@Melisss hi scan twin! 👋 you’ve got some really good numbers and sizes there! ❤️ I’m glad to have had the first scan to at least have an idea of where things are! I think with the trigger they tell you what time to take it so that’s it’s 36 hours before your egg collection so it will be done yourself. They have given me mine and told me that’s how it would work, hope that helps

@Kitt86 best of luck for egg collection on Monday! Not sure if they can get too mature can they? I’m clueless about that sorry! Hope you have a restful weekend and try to keep yourself busy! I know what you mean about time going in slow motion and we aren’t even at the TWW! 🙈 such a waiting game it’s hard!!

@Rosesinbloom19 yeah I believe they can be to big. The lady I saw today said sometimes you have to sacrifice the largest ones to get a better haul of the others as the big ones are over mature but not sure what the cut of is?
Also can't.stop.eating!!!! Anyone else? I'm usually pretty controlled with food and healthy. I have zero control currently 🧀🌭🌮🌯🍇🍆🍔🍗🍛

That’s why these forums are so good as you learn so much from each other! 🥰 it’s such a lottery at this stage but all we can do is our best 🤞🏻they told me that they need to be at least 18mm but not sure what is the largest they would be viable?? I’ve been eating a lot too, currently having salt and vinegar crisps! 🐷🥰🤣

Also just been reading a study where follicles measuring 12-19mm on the morning of the trigger injection were most likely to result in mature eggs….so maybe 19 could be the cut off? 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Melisss I did my trigger at home and I think that's normal but I didn't get given it /had to buy it the day they decided I was ready for collection. So at my final scan. They didn't give it me in advance as they hadn't decided if I was having a HCG trigger (if I was potentially having a fresh transfer) or burselin or whatever it's called, which they'd have given me if they had ruled out fresh transfer entirely. So it might be that they're waiting to see how many you have and what size and will decide the type and dose of trigger you take based on that.

@Rosesinbloom19 when I was doing my scans for EC my nurse said at collection they are looking for the ones that are between 18 and 22mm. So with that in mind, you actually don’t want any over 22mm in your last scan, as more likely than not those would be over mature with trigger shot and not suitable for freezing. From the get go I always had a predominant follicle that was ahead of others - by last scan, I pretty much knew that at 26mm that follicle/potential egg would grow more with trigger and be over mature and not suitable. They make that trigger shot decision based on all follicles not just one, so even though you might have 1-2 ready for collection…they might push it if there’s a chance of getting more eggs with an extra day or two of stims. Also have been told by the nurse that not all follicles have eggs, not common but some follicles can have more than one egg, scans are just to give them an idea…once they are doing the procedure they will be thorough making sure to drain all follicles. Not sure if this info differs from clinic/to clinic, but that was the info I was given when doing my EC a few weeks ago. 🤗
