FET/IVF/ICSI - October 2033

Lauralozzle · 23/09/2023 13:09

Anyone due to start cycle/have transfer in October jump on board!

Little history:

TTC our first. Trying for 4 years. Officially unexplained but I only have one ovary that responds/works. Fertilisation issues. Positive Sperm Oxidative Stress Test (likely DNA Frag). So it’s really a bit of a mix.

Dec 22/Jan 23 - First ICSI cycle. 8 eggs, 6 mature, 2 fertilised. One poor blast to transfer. Nothing to freeze. BFN.

July 23 - Second ICSI cycle. Using AOA & ZyMot chip. 8 eggs, 8 mature, 4 fertilised. One fresh to transfer and 2 to freeze. BFN.

Oct 23 - First FET scheduled.

Currently waiting for my period to start so that FET cycle can start. Should start beginning of Oct, so FET likely towards end of the month.

Thanks everyone!
I hope it's okay to still hover around obviously because it's such early tentative days but also I want to see how everyone gets on.
I feel like people's cycles are flying by! Funny that time goes so quickly when you're the one in the situation but 8-10 days flies by from an outside perspective. I can't believe how many people have already progressed to egg collection and have had transfer or are coming up to it already!

LF82 · 02/11/2023 12:08

Congratulations @IVFKinster lovely news

ThinkPink37 · 02/11/2023 12:29

Huge congratulations to you @IVFKinster!

I can well imagine how you’re still feeling super cautious after the journey to get there!

I look forward to you getting to the point where you can relax and enjoy it.

What’s your DD?

It’s a talisman for a lot of us 🥰.

Millie89xx · 02/11/2023 14:35

hi everyone , how soon after your last injection do you have egg collection ? I’m on day 10 tommoro got a scan at 8 am and I’m hoping the follicles are all where they should be and ready ..

Lauralozzle · 02/11/2023 14:39

We are twins @Millie89xx although my CD10 scan is tomorrow at 12 instead of 8 :) I am wondering when egg collection will be too.

Millie89xx · 02/11/2023 14:47

@Lauralozzle thank you I’m starting to get nervous about collection now ! Hope your keeping well

Millie89xx · 02/11/2023 14:48

@Hopingforno2in2023 oh how good is this 👌 how have you been getting on?

Hopingforno2in2023 · 02/11/2023 14:51

@Millie89xx I’m well thanks :) Starting to feel twinges etc which I am hoping is my ovaries doing what they need to. How about you? Doesn’t feel quite real yet that EC will be next week.

Millie89xx · 02/11/2023 14:53

@Hopingforno2in2023 oh I know same just twinges bloating and tender now few bruises of the cetrotide injections .. how was your mid way scan I was disappointed with mine think I had 6 at 10mm and over 4 at 7/8 and the rest below 6 😭

Hopingforno2in2023 · 02/11/2023 14:56

@Millie89xx My scan yesterday showed 3 x 13mm, 1 x 11mm and 1 x 10mm. Which CD was your scan?

Millie89xx · 02/11/2023 15:18

@Hopingforno2in2023 it was day 6 but I had not taken day 6s injection at this point I didn’t start my injections until day 3 of AF too so hoping for big growth tomorrow so much pressure on you isn’t it ???

Hopingforno2in2023 · 02/11/2023 15:28

Ah I am sure you will see big improvement tomorrow @Millie89xx.

Millie89xx · 02/11/2023 15:45

@Hopingforno2in2023 l hope so 🤞 good luck for tomorrow

SunsetsAndSandwiches · 02/11/2023 16:14

@Millie89xx I had my last injections on the morning of my Day 10 scan, they told me to take the trigger that night and collection was day 12. You may need a few more days of injections though, or if your clinic doesn't collect on a weekend they can make it so you don't trigger til Saturday ready for a Monday collection. However it works, hope the scan is good news!

@IVFKinster I'm delighted for you! Really hope everything goes well from here ❤ I know it's natural to worry about upsetting others, and of course its always good to try and be respectful, but you haven't taken anyone else's chance away and this is your much longed for good news so I'm glad you have shared it.

Sending love to anyone who does find pregnancy announcements hard though, our best friends have just announced their pregnancy (thankfully we had clocked it at about 6 weeks so had a bit of time to process ourselves, and they have been very thoughtful in how they told us; it's just hard not to wish and wonder what life would have been like if it has only taken us 3 months of TTC though).

@Lauralozzle definitely sounds like you need the time off, the protected 2 weeks after IVF is there for a reason - mentally it is comparable to a miscarriage. I'm so sorry you're finding this time so hard, but what you say about feeling the feelings definitely resonates and it is so important to work through them rather than push them aside. Take the time to do whatever is going to make you feel best, even if that is glossing some skirting boards! I hope your husband is able to take some time too if he needs it ❤

IVFKinster · 02/11/2023 16:41

Thanks @ThinkPink37 my DD is some mythical thing I don't yet believe in and haven't worked out 😬 I'm refusing to let myself think about it at this moment in time.

I'm still having a little bit of light spotting everyday so will see how things go but very grateful to have gotten this far! I'm not sure I can really consider myself pregnant until after the viability scan. And every day I wake up and do a test and hope it's still going to be positive. It's bizarre and not how I thought I'd feel!

@SunsetsAndSandwiches that's very kind of you, thank you. I am cautious that I don't want to hurt anyone. I think I'm also a little shocked so haven't really processed it myself. It sounds like you and your friend have handled their pregnancy news as best as can be expected. It is one of the hardest parts of this whole thing. I hope you're okay ♥️

@Millie89xx and @Hopingforno2in2023 excited to hear how your scans go and fingers crossed for egg collections soon! 😊 I found the speed at which we went from stims to collection quite baffling and by the time my brain and feelings caught up with what was going on, it was over! I hope you both get great news tomorrow.

Millie89xx · 02/11/2023 17:40

@IVFKinster ah thank you! Fingers crossed for growing follicles hahaha .. I know I feel like the 10 days of stims have flew by. I have tried to be as calm stress free and relaxed as possible I’m sure it’s about to all change 😂🤞

ViVRe · 02/11/2023 18:01

@IVFKinster so happy for you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I know this has been a long journey and mentally tough for you, so I will continue to keep all of my 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 hoping all goes accordingly. I hope you don’t mind me asking, is this your first + ever? Were you shocked after thinking it wasn’t gonna happen? I know the nerves are probably still there but I’m excited on your behalf ☺️

@Millie89xx and @Hopingforno2in2023 good luck on scans, keep reminding yourselves that is quality/not quantity (I know it’s hard) but I do feel it’s best to have VERY GOOD ONES than loads of crappy ones 😉 and keep on drinking water and having good protein/healthy fats to help with growth/minimize side effects 🤗

@marshk how are you getting on?

Quickdraw23 · 02/11/2023 18:02

Congratulations @IVFKinster that is great news. So pleased for you!

I’ve had a few days away from mumsnet getting back into my usual routine.
Been to the gym to shift some lead and get a sweat on which has made me feel quite good.

thanks everyone who sent me nice messages! Really appreciated. So sorry to hear @IVFDublin and @Lauralozzle of the BFNs. It’s very hard indeed. Wishing you lots of comfort and nice things xx

good luck everyone still stimming/awaiting transfer/mid TWW. Got everything crossed.

this is a very busy thread!

IVFKinster · 02/11/2023 19:09

@Millie89xx well you've smashed it so far! 😊 so if you do lose your cool and calm a little bit that's completely okay and expected and certain points!

@ViVRe thank you. Yes first ever positive in roughly 4.5 years of trying? Maybe slightly longer. I feel so deeply lucky that's it's our first round of IVF. First transfer. I'd convinced myself it would be positive and when it was I almost didn't believe it but I also didn't really feel anything too strong either way. It's surreal really. I feel like it's happening to someone else.

@Quickdraw23 thank you. Well done getting back into the gym! So therapeutic and good for your soul. This is such an active thread. It's the least lonely place on the internet I think!

@marshk how are you getting on?

Not too bad thank you @ViVRe - 4dp5dt tomorrow and so far feeling quite calm about it all. Just super exhausted 😴 😴

How are you doing?

4thcyclelucky · 02/11/2023 21:39

@Lauralozzle sorry to hear about your bfn. When can you try again?
Re. 2 weeks protection post transfer, do you take that as sick leave? I’m having my transfer this Sat and am thinking of taking Mon and Tue off so I can relax. My manager is aware and supportive although I have been conscious not to abuse the flexibility they have given me with scans etc.

4thcyclelucky · 02/11/2023 21:41

Congrats! @IVFKinster !!

Hope to see more bfp for the rest of us 🙏🏼

Rosesinbloom19 · 03/11/2023 08:56

Morning all! Sorry I’m struggling to keep up with this thread but I know some people were having scans etc today? This is my first round and today was my first scan so I was so nervous! 😕 Woke up at 4am dreaming of being chased by a dog lol this IVF makes you mad! 😵‍💫

I’ve had 7 days of stims and my scan showed 12 follicles this morning -
1 at 12mm
1 at 11mm
4 at 10mm
6 between 9-5mm

Another scan on Monday to see how that are progressing but she said they need to be 18mm to be viable so quite a bit to go but I’m staying positive 🤞🏻 I’ve a low AMH/AFC so tbh I’m delighted with these numbers!

Sending good luck and wishes to you all on this crazy journey! Xxx

ThinkPink37 · 03/11/2023 09:10

@IVFKinster I can well imagine the daily feeling of wanting to check all is well. Perhaps an early reassurance scan would help?

For those in their 2WW, is anyone else driving themselves mad symptom spotting/searching?

I’m driving myself wild about not having any implantation bleeding. I know not everyone gets it but I had it with my last 2 CPs. So clearly got long enough along implantation to register traceable HcG. I’m hopeful that this is notably different experience. Aaah, the mind games!
