Great news @Belle26!

Well done on your EC @IVFKinster, I hope you stay well!

I just received a phone call offering me a job (have been a SAHM since 2021). It is a dinner lady job in a primary school so term time only and within the school day. Will hopefully be able to fit IVF appointments around it as it is 2.5 hours a day.

@Hopingforno2in2023 well done on the job and perfect to fit in around your son and future #2.

Belle26 · 18/08/2023 17:33

GCS34 · 18/08/2023 17:06

@Belle26 wow that's incredible! Better than the 300 you wanted 😅Congrats! Are you further along than you thought? Or is that still the same? Exciting for the 6th - is that your 7 weeks?

Thanks, I had a 5 day transfer so I can't be any further along. I think I was really really lucky and had an immediate implant after transfer. Yes that will be my 7 weeks scan, next worry is making it to that 🙈

Hopingforno2in2023 · 18/08/2023 17:35

It could be twins @Belle26!

Hopingforno2in2023 · 18/08/2023 17:37

Will the clinic try and fit around my job do you think? I really will feel bad taking time off when I first start especially as I will only be 2.5 hours a day! If my cycles go normally the EC and transfer will hopefully fall in half term.

IVFKinster · 18/08/2023 18:00

@GCS34 26 eggs in total but no idea how many were mature or any good etc. They were expecting about 16 but idky.
I couldn't get out of bed afterwards, my blood pressure plummeted from the sedation (tbf this also happened the one other time in my life I've had any anaesthetic) and I couldn't keep anything down. They expected us to be going by 11:00 and we didn't leave until half 3. They were worried it was OHSS related but I'm convinced it's just how I react! Convinced them to let come home but have more injections and tablets to take to avoid OHSS as much as possible. It'll be a freeze all which we kind of expected from the start with PCOS so I've no idea why they risked the HCG trigger with me. 😴

@Hopingforno2in2023 i work full time Mon-Fri, and I’ve had them move appointments around for me when I couldn’t do the ones given due to meetings / projects I had on, so they will do. They went through a phase of booking me in at 9:30 and I just said I need to do XX Time or YY time and they did them around those times.

Ellenn · 18/08/2023 21:22

@ttcsolomumtobe how are you doing? You are so close, hope you’ve got nice plans for the weekend xx

@IVFKinster thats a great result! Although sorry to hear you weren’t well afterwards, hope you are feeling better soon and you have some time this weekend to recover! Are the embryologists going to update you tomorrow?

ttcsolomumtobe · 18/08/2023 21:30

@Ellenn I'm doing okay, had the tiniest amount of pinky/red tinged cm and a little blob on the pessary applicator earlier which worried me thinking AF was starting... Was half way to the bathroom to POAS but stopped myself and luckily nothing since, fingers crossed it's stays that way.

I have got a busy weekend of seeing and doing lovely outdoor walks, brunch and market pottering so that should be a nice distraction! Then Monday... OTD! Feel like I'm even more nervous for it for making it to OTD! Have the day to myself luckily so can deal with whatever it brings.

Thank you for asking, how are you? Have you had your second beta results? Sorry if I missed it on thread swap overs

kirstysmbc · 18/08/2023 22:24

@Belle26 Amazing beta result - will you be doing a second to check doubling?

@IVFKinster Wow, those are great numbers, congratulations. Fingers crossed for some great blastocyst numbers too.

Two days of stims in, and already got a huge bruise on my stomach. Managed to do 2.5 weeks of down reg without a single bruise. How fires anyone with a fear of needles cope with IVF?!

Ellenn · 18/08/2023 22:40

@ttcsolomumtobe it might just be implantation bleeding? I hope it is 🤞 good on you, got some willpower there!! Any sort of POAS is nerve wracking I think for me, I’ve actually just done it once so far so I think I’m doing ok 🤣

sounds like a lovely weekend!

yes I got my second beta and numbers are doubling every 45 hrs so it’s ok. I think I just keep comparing my numbers with others which I probably shouldn’t do! But my brain is silly and is just trying to think of worst outcome all the time. Only got 13 days till scan now (not that I’m counting 🙈) atm i feel like there is not going to be anything there👀 it’s such an anxious wait!

ttcsolomumtobe · 19/08/2023 04:14

@Ellenn wow that is some willpower too!! They must have been so daunting doing it for first time, as some tests can be hard to read too! I knew if I started early testing I just wouldn't stop and the days would feel even longer when anxious.

Yea I'm sure it's so easy to end up comparing numbers or looking what it expect at certain weeks, hope your scan arrives quick and gives you lots of reassurance

scaredynoob · 18/08/2023 09:24

And I'm waiting for my OTD on Weds, 23rd... it was a day 3 fresh transfer on the 10th. My first IVF / ICSI ever. No Frosties :(

I caved :-( BFN on FRER... today happens to be 9dp3dt... my OTD is 23rd.. I don't have much hopes...

Justkeepmoving1234 · 19/08/2023 07:04

@scaredynoob sorry it was a BFN but I wouldn't rule yourself out just yet. 9dpt is still very early for a 3dt.

I'd give it a few days yet. Sending luck your way.

@ttcsolomumtobe the spotting could be implantation. I'd try not to worry about spotting too much, that can also be very normal at the beginning of pregnancy. Only 2 more sleeps to go!!

Thank you for everyone's kind words yesterday, it really helped 😊

@IVFKinster 26 is great! Are they calling you with the fertilised number today? Good luck!
so sorry you were so rough in theatre.
mom quite surprised they let you use ovitrelle with PCOS. Although they gave me that initially then ditched last minute. How are you feeling today?

@Ellenn i don’t think anyone isn’t anxious during their 1st trimester. Even more so if you’ve had your experience. But you’re over 5 weeks in, and not long to the scan. Did you get to 7 weeks previously?

@ttcsolomumtobe soinds like lovely distractions. and brunch is always nice especially in the sun! Do you usually spot before your period or not? If not it’s probably implantation. When are you due on? Or I guess cuz it’s a fresh it is exactly 2 weeks after tf? Sounds like some good distraction plans.

@scaredynoob sorry you had a bfn - like @Justkeepmoving1234 said, for a 3Dt it is still quite early. When would you be due on? Maybe use that as the bench mark? Is OTD weds?

@Justkeepmoving1234 oh no! What injections are they? I went through a phase of constantly just hitting blood vessels / beings when I did it in my stomach and they bruised 😂🙈 have you considered moving to top of your thigh? You can’t see it as much so helps with the phobia, and if it bruises, it doesn’t get seen?

ttcsolomumtobe · 19/08/2023 09:02

@GCS34 I never used to spot before AF but have in the last year and yea period would be due anytime from yesterday to Monday/Tuesday. Seems to have cleared up now.

The friend I'm seeing today has an idea that i may have done my cycle due to having time off work. Friends I'm seeing tomorrow don't know so I think that makes it easier too

IVFKinster · 19/08/2023 09:11

Sorry about your negative test @scaredynoob. Hopefully just too early and the result changes on OTD for you.

@ttcsolomumtobe someone else might have said this and it might have been this thread that I read it but pessaries can cause irritation and spotting can't they? Fingers crossed for your OTD too!

I am feel much better today than I expected but I am in some pain. I'll keep an eye for OHSS symptoms.
The embryologist was really helpful when they called this morning. Apparently based on the scan info during stims they were only expecting 9 eggs so that's why the ovitrelle was given. It also explains the huge drop off we had in eggs to mature eggs as lots of those came from tiny follicles (I feel like they should have told us this when handing over the number 26).
26 eggs, 11 mature, 7 fertilised.
I'm not unhappy with that but would have been happier if I'd been expecting 9 eggs 😂
If we can get 2 embryos I'll be happy but it's in the hands of the fertility gods I guess!

@ttcsolomumtobe great need it’s cleared up. And if it was literally just a smidge then sounds very promising. I don’t know if you saw my post on group#1 but my sister bleed all the way through her first trimester after her transfer and is due in the winter. Although that doesn’t help anyone when you’re balls deep in the TWW 😂

Oh wow so you’ve kept it totally schtum from all friends and fam what you’re doing?

@IVFKinster thats a great turn out! 7 fertilised is a great number. If you do law of averages where 50% get to d3 and another 50% of them get to d5 then you should have 2 for sure. X

kirstysmbc · 19/08/2023 10:24

@scaredynoob I think the others are right when they say it might be too early for a day 3 transfer. Try and stay positive and test again in a few days.

@IVFKinster I had the opposite in terms of eggs collected from follicles - 18 follicles and only 9 eggs. 7 were mature and 6 made it to blastocyst, one of them resulted in my daughter. You still have a great chance, keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🤞

KG1244 · 19/08/2023 10:44

Echo what others say @scaredynoob its still early days. Sending love ❤️

Did my first lubion today (woop)! That injection is a stingy bitch. Or is it just me?

Doughnut89 · 19/08/2023 10:55

I am currently 9dp5dt. I had a BHCG yesterday which came back as 150, the clinic were happy with that considering I tested early but there’s still blood every time I wipe so they want me to go back on Monday to check that the levels are rising.

I’m also a solo mum using donor sperm so found your conversations really interesting around that @kirstysmbc and that you’ve already gone through it with your daughter. I think I’d want my child to know straight away too and be open about it.
@ttcsolomumtobe i filtered for a sperm donor with olive skin and dark hair and eyes so that my baby would look like me and my siblings / family. To me that was important as they’re already going to be a bit different not having a dad and I wanted them to feel like they fit in.

@GCS34 i think you asked me about the reasoning for my chemical earlier in the year. I don’t know for certain but I had been born with a complete septate uterus, which means I had a septum going all the way through splitting it in half. I had surgery in January for it to be removed but Ive also had issues with the thickness of my endometrium; I have an oestrogen dominance so I think those factors may have been involved. Basically I have good quality eggs and was able to get great embryo grades but my body struggles to house them xx

ttcsolomumtobe · 19/08/2023 10:58

@IVFKinster thank you for your reassurance, it could be that.

I think the drop off is always hard and we always have a hopeful number in our heads, my clinic were very clear in saying they will only take eggs from follicles 11mm and above as any smaller they won't be mature enough and then it looks a poor drop off. Fingers crossed for your fertilised ones to do well!

@GCS34 I had yea, I think if the spotting had continued I would be more worried but I know there's nothing more I can do now than test on OTD.
I told my Dad, mainly so he doesn't stress me out 😂 my friend who was picking me up from EC and then the friend I'm seeing today think I briefly said about adjustments at work and she knows it would only be for Fertility but she hasn't questioned owt.

Other friends none the wiser , just think I've been busy with work the last 2 weeks or seen them for a couple of hours. I don't really drink alcohol and changed to decaf year ago so things that may give people away don't for me luckily

scaredynoob · 19/08/2023 11:13

Thank you so much for the messages .. I'm disheartened that it was an FRER.. OTD is 23rd, I should have gotten a positive if it was meant to be this time.. (9dp3dt fresh)

Pinklady81 · 19/08/2023 11:51

@scaredynoob I'm so sorry try stay positive but I know when I tested at 9dpt I knew for me I was out ! Have faith though x
