I’m really sorry to hear about your embryos @TT82 Flowers I guess in knowing when to stop, for some people it will be finances and for others the emotional and physical toll of IVF. I definitely plan to do at least two rounds, I really hope your next round is successful.

TT82 · 19/09/2023 16:34

@Hopingforno2in2023 thank you 🙏 Yes I also hope I get at least one normal embryo. I don't know if mentally I will be ready to hear that all my eggs just too old 😞

Wishing you all good news in September and October, and really hope most of you move to the pregnancy chats, when I am back with EC in November ❤️

@TT82 Sorry you didn't get the result you were hoping for from the testing. It's such a subjective topic isn't it. Did they say that you could still transfer them even though they didn't come back as 'normal'? And did they say why they weren't classed as normal - missing cells, or was it more diseases / abnormal cells etc that would affect the child through life? I know that someone I know had an embryo transferred that wasn't deemed good from testing, and it turned out to be her son! So if there is the option to transfer...would you?

TT82 · 19/09/2023 18:23

@GCS34 oh I actually didnt ask (I think) if they would transfer, I was so upset. She said the abnormalities wouldn't leave to propper pregnancy and tiny chance if would, then the child would bexwith severe disability 🥺

Biopsie Embryo TETI : +1, -13, +15, high level mosaic for 19 (more than 50%)
(Mosaikmonosomie)
Biopsie Embryo TET2: +18, +19
Biopsie Embryo TET3: +5, +22
Biopsie Embryo TET4: +13

These I received in the report, do you think they could lead to a healthy child?

kirstysmbc · 19/09/2023 18:31

@TT82 From what I was told, if there is definitely an extra chromosome (all those with a +), then they're not viable, but you can always double check with your clinic. My clinic would only allow low level mosaic to be transferred, and so just classify those as normal.

TT82 · 19/09/2023 18:32

@GCS34 I have emailed the dr asking all these questions and also to arrange the call with embryology department how they do them
As from all the numbers in the report, I read that 18 and 13 are bad..

TT82 · 19/09/2023 18:39

@kirstysmbc oh then indeed none are good, all with + 😞

ARM23 · 19/09/2023 19:04

@TT82 i did collection 3 times. I was very disappointed after my first collection. My consultant was very reassuring and said to try again, eat lots of red meat, just because they were abnormal this time doesn’t mean it will be the same on the 2nd/3rd. My second collection was similar but my 3rd I had triple the number of normal embryos. Don’t give up hope!

@TT82 I'm really sorry but I'm not the best person to comment - I don't know much about embryo testing and what it fully means. By 'not much' I mean, zero! All I know is that mosaic embryos can become healthy babies, It's not really necessary for under 40yo due to the eggs being more likely to be good quality, it correlates with AMH levels and that it's a 'red' on the traffic light system from HFEA. So I really don't want to comment as I really don't know.

Have you spoken to your clinic since? What is the next step and did they discard the 4 you mentioned?

TT82 · 20/09/2023 14:10

@GCS34 thank you, unfortunately in my case it is not mosaic.. 😞
We will do next EC after 1 natural cycle, in November. After that will decide how we feel.. The abnormal ones we will donate for research to hospital, maybe they will be able to learn and help more women in future ❤️

girljulian · 21/09/2023 11:21

How are you doing, @CB2805 and @Lowo21 ? The TWW is hell!

Justkeepmoving1234 · 21/09/2023 19:52

So I have some news...I really hope this is okay posting it in here. But I hope you guys will understand.

TRIGGER WARNING!

I got a BFP today! First time in 8 years I've ever had a strong positive naturally. I'm not sure if it's because of my failed FET last month and all the hormones in my system have let it happen naturally. I'm in complete shock! Also can't bring myself to accept it yet

KG1244 · 21/09/2023 20:42

@Justkeepmoving1234 you conceived naturally after 8 years? Omg that’s amazing. Huge congrats! I have heard that this can happen for people but I honestly never believed it. So happy for you ❤️

@Hopingforno2in2023 I think I can say on behalf of everyone that of course it’s okay to post in here!! Congratulations that’s wonderful news. I’m really so pleased for you and complete fate that it’s your time. Wishing you so much luck. Did you know you’d ovulated etc? Remind me - what was the reason for ivf - was it male or unexplained
Congrats again. X

kirstysmbc · 21/09/2023 21:20

@Justkeepmoving1234 That's such fabulous news, congratulations!! Wishing you a happy and healthy nine months ahead! ❤️❤️

CB2805 · 21/09/2023 21:23

@Justkeepmoving1234 that’s wonderful news and a magical miracle🩵 so happy for you wish you an easy and healthy 9 months

Justkeepmoving1234 · 21/09/2023 21:25

@KG1244 and @GCS34 I'm still really apprehensive, as I'm 4 days off my period, but I started feeling exhausted and thought 'what the he'll, I'll use up one of the tests from the transfer'. Honestly thought it would be negative! But I've done 2 tests and both positive.

I honestly didn't think it would ever happen naturally! We haven't used contraception for 8 years, and never got pregnant.

I had my DS on our first IVF round in 2021. Had a failed FET last month.

I have PCOS and endometriosis. The endometriosis is in my tubes.

The only 2 things I did with this month and when I became pregnant with my son, was following the mindy peltz fasting for managing hormones. But I honestly think it must be the left over stuff from my failed round.

This fertility Journey is so bloody weird!

Justkeepmoving1234 · 21/09/2023 21:27

@kirstysmbc and @CB2805 thank you!!

Hopefully it's a sticky one!!
