Testosterone has been shown to be effective in people with low AMH @GCS34. This is my first cycle so they have decided to go straight for it.

I really hope you don’t have to wait for October @LavenderJoy but if you do I am happy to keep you company as I have to wait until then too.

kirstysmbc · 20/08/2023 06:58

@GCS34 I've not done, maybe I need to start. They don't even hurt while I do them, just leave big bruises! Yesterday's is a little smaller, so maybe my technique is improving!

Justkeepmoving1234 · 20/08/2023 07:20

My OTD is tomorrow but I did a test today as I'm going on holiday this afternoon and wanted to get it done. It was BFN, I'm gutted but weirdly feeling okay about it. I think because I did the test at 9dpt and it was negative, I've had a few days to process it all, so I kinda knew I was out of the race.

I'm in a mindset of - this round wasn't for us, let's bring on the next one. I have 2 frosties left, so we'll see.

Does anyone know if they usually like to start you straight away on the next bleed? I was thinking I might take a month out to get my head and body a bit more grounded.

@ttcsolomumtobe good luck for tomorrow!! I have a really good feeling about it!!

Thank you for all the support. Wishing you all the best with your journeys

Hopingforno2in2023 · 20/08/2023 07:33

I’m really sorry @Justkeepmoving1234. I hope you have a nice holiday however.

kirstysmbc · 20/08/2023 07:37

@Justkeepmoving1234 I'm so sorry this wasn't your lucky round. I hope you have a lovely holiday, the perfect thing to take a bit of time for yourself and relax. I think the clinic will leave it to you to decide when is best for you to try again. I always wanted to move on quicker than the clinic suggested, so waiting a month shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully the next time will be your lucky cycle

KG1244 · 20/08/2023 07:56

@Ellenn thank you! I don’t find it painful going in, it’s the after pain minutes/hours later 😬

OP posts:
KG1244 · 20/08/2023 08:00

@Justkeepmoving1234 so sorry to hear. Hope the holiday is the respite you need. I got my BFN at the beginning of July and they just said I needed a full bleed in between - transferred this week.

OP posts:
Purtyburty · 20/08/2023 08:33

Our one fertilised egg hasn't grown since day 3 so no transfer today. I'm out. Good luck everybody with your journey.

KG1244 · 20/08/2023 08:34

@Justkeepmoving1234 need to stop messaging on here before I’ve had my (decaf) tea. Transferring for me next week.

Has anyone done or been recommended to do a colonic before you start IVF?
I will be doing my first round IVF a month from today so trying everything possible to prepare my body!

GCS34 · 20/08/2023 09:12

Ellenn · 20/08/2023 06:14

@KG1244 yes use the outside upper thigh, just as you would your tummy. I do work down though so I don’t use the same place too close together as I don’t think that helps either. Just grab a bit of fat and stab 🤣 I don’t know if my legs are just less sensitive than tummy but I see a really big different in pain so might be worth a shot.

@Ellenn @KG1244 you can do your bum too right?! I did a few antagonist injections in my bum rather than leg and did t feel a thing!

GCS34 · 20/08/2023 09:25

Hopingforno2in2023 · 20/08/2023 06:49

@Hopingforno2in2023 ah cool. Thought it was something like that. Do you know the reason for the low amh or is it just age related? (No offence 😂 if you’re like 28 now this will be awks)

@Justkeepmoving1234 so so sorry it wasn’t your month 😔 prepared or not - it’s still a gut punch. Thinking of you and at least you have the holiday to compose, decompress, relax, reset and most of all, drink wine!! It’s good you have more chances in the freezer. Once you’ve had your withdrawal bleed, it’s up to you then. Take as much time as you need. Mental and physically it’s a lot, so breaks are good I always think. Thinking of you xx

@ttcsolomumtobe thats definitely positive. (Hopefully in more ways than one!) and you would have come on this weekend if it wasn’t right? Only 24hrs let. Sending warm wishes to your nether regions 😅
cute that your dad knows. What a ledge. And it’s nice you have a friend you’ll tell regardless. I have 2 really close friends also going through ivf at the same time (one was.omitted to hospital mind you for ohss, so she’s out for a month now) but yeah. They will be told but that is it. Parents aren’t being told until 12 weeks, then everyone else (providing it’s a BFP that is) will you hold off until 12 before you tell everyone?

@ ALL - whats everyone mindset in terms of telling people. Traditional wait until 12 weeks, or before now a days?

ttcsolomumtobe · 20/08/2023 09:50

@Felicityrose1978 I did it a couple months before I planned to start a IVF. I was curious about it and just wanted to do as much as I could to try improve my body and how I felt beforehand. I sometimes struggle with going to bathroom and have days where I need to use laxido sachets so was hoping it would cut down the need for it. In honestly I found the process weird but fascinating but can't say it improves things for me, if anything the "clear out" then made it worse a few days after when things started moving again. The women doing it even confirmed that some of the things I read online were myths or other companies selling tactics.
Personally I would spend the £100 on a supply of good fiber foods, veg and juices. After transfer I drank beetroot juice and ate steamed beetroot (just the supermarket packs) most days as meant to help with bloodflow and actually had no tummy problems since 😂

ttcsolomumtobe · 20/08/2023 09:58

@Purtyburty sorry to hear your embryo didn't continue to grow. Hope you take some time for you and return to IVF when it's right.

@Justkeepmoving1234 so sorry to hear it's a negative, totally understand why you've tested early. I hope your holiday is a good refresh you need and thank you for your well wishes 💕

@GCS34 yes would have been due on this weekend and only a bit more brown discharge this morning. My periods never start that way, always full flow the same day that spotting starts so got everything crossed for tomorrow.
My Dad's a good one, his nearly 70, doesn't quite get it all but is supportive. Re telling other people I think 12 weeks onwards is an okay time, would prefer 20 weeks but I don't think I would get away with it for so long with friends as they would be asking when I was looking to restart IVF etc. Right now I feel it's okay to say "oh still going through the motions, things take a while", but when confirmed pregnant I wouldn't want to lie. Even thought they would understand.

Do parents know you are going through IVF or no idea?

Ellenn · 20/08/2023 10:05

@KG1244 yes that’s the same for me! I can inject fine but the whole area is super painful for about 4 days. I find thigh much easier and still a bit sore but no where near the same level as doing in tummy. @GCS34 not tried in bum before tbh might be a bit awkward to get to 🤣 also would worry I don’t manage to get it subcutaneously!

@ttcsolomumtobe how exciting, so happy your period hasn’t arrived yet 😁😁😁 I hope this is it. I think I wouldn’t be telling anyone till I’m pretty far on tbh if I get that far maybe 16-20 wks or something when it becomes more noticeable. I’m trying not to think about it as still no idea what is going on in there 🤷‍♀️ but it’s certainly making me feel rubbish so must be some hormones kicking around!

ttcsolomumtobe · 20/08/2023 10:22

@Ellenn thank you! Guna be a heart racing mess tomorrow testing and will need to call the clinic to give them the outcome and go get a prescription for more pessaries if needed as only 2 days supply left after today.

This early 20 weeks away feels forever but yea, the longer the better. I feel like / hope that when pregnant I wouldn't show till much later on as I'm a size 16 with a tum already and have been bigger in the past so a little weigh fluctuate isn't unheard of for me and currently loving dungarees and loose style dresses so feel I could hide it a bit more than a slim person. Do many of your family and friends know about the IVF @Ellenn ? Sorry if you have mentioned this before.

@ttcsolomumtobe that’s definitely a good sign! 🥰 fingers crossed this is it for you. Your previous rounds, remind me nothing has stuck yet has it? So much luck for you. And dads are superhero’s.

yes my parents and husbands parents do, along with our friends. Because of my situation, I spoke to my mum when it got to 8 months of no period as I was worried and wanted to understand if she had issues with cycles etc when she was younger. I got some investigations done, and then just when we got diagnosed with pcos, and our funding processing, I then had a positive smear test in October that had to halt all fertility treatment as I had to have surgery as it was at stage 3 and was apparently a year from being cervical cancer. So my mum came to look after me as my husband was away after the op so I had to talk to her and it’s all been a bit one thing after the next the whole year with other things too. But yeah, in a very long winded way, (sorry 😅) they do know mainly from a health perspective.

100% on the 12 weeks. I think I’d be nervous to say anything before that!

@Purtyburty sorry you’ve nothing to transfer 😢😔 is that the end of the road for you or you going again?

@Ellenn blind stabbing your bum probably isn’t the one 😅

Ellenn · 20/08/2023 12:45

@ttcsolomumtobe none of my family/friends know about the treatments/transfers at all 😳

eek I’m excited for you, it sounds hopeful 🤞🤞I think if this embryo hangs about I will wait for as long as poss!! Although proving challenging when I’m feeling so nauseous 🤢 hopefully it will improve

ttcsolomumtobe · 20/08/2023 12:55

@Ellenn wow that no-one knows, I imagine in someways it must be nice not having to explain the process and what's going on to people but also difficult when you can't attend things, really don't wanna see people or emotions running high.

When did your sickness start and is it that you are being sick or just feel it? Normally I don't eat till about 11am but have started to eat earlier because as get tummy rumbling and a bit sick, yet I've been brushing that off as not having evening snacks after tea as trying to eat healthy ha.

Boob/nip pain has eased off in the last fe days which I'm glad of. And thank you, so excited too... But very nervous

Ellenn · 20/08/2023 13:07

@ttcsolomumtobe yeh in my head I thought if my 3rd transfer doesn’t work I might tell close family cause they are really putting a lot of pressure on us about having a baby which is really difficult and horrible. I know they don’t mean it in a bad way as don’t know what we are going through but it’s hurts a lot.

just nausea I have and can’t have coffee/hot food anymore really, it started bang on 4 wks so exactly the same as my last transfer. Think my body just is a bit over reactive to hormones 🤦‍♀️

I hope all good signs for you!!! xx

ttcsolomumtobe · 20/08/2023 13:21

@Ellenn that pressure can be hard enough when a couple are just trying to naturally conceive, but going through fertility treatment in private and still having it, yeah it's alot. No-one would ever mean harm by it but I'm sure it doesn't make it hurt any less.

Well fingers crossed all goes well with this pregnancy and you can have your happy little secret and share when it's right by you.

Ooo that's so strange, atleast it's summer so not wanting hot food for warmth. Hormones are pretty mad

Thank you 🙏💕

Purtyburty · 20/08/2023 14:41

@GCS34 it's not the end of the road. We had a multi cycle package so have already paid for another round. May see people in another thread some time.

Not sure how long to leave between cycles when you have had a poor response.
