Hi there, I start my medication for a fresh IVF round in September. Im not the best at navigating mumsnet and wondering if there are any groups set up for people starting around the same time? X

Thank you for all of your kind words @Arundel8 @Natasha90 @LavenderJoy @JadeAC

I know I shouldn't blame myself but it's so hard not to. I think it's just such a load mentally and physically and because we're the ones that 'should' be able to get pregnant (which is ridiculous in itself) that it feels like even more pressure. I know I'm being hard on myself but I also know I won't be the only one to have felt like this.

@Arundel8 I'm so sorry, it's so hard to pick yourself up and keep going. Give yourself some time to process, you're a take care of yourself and don't give up hope yet ❤️ sending so much love your way xxx

JadeAC · 15/10/2023 17:28

@Arundel8 im so sorry to hear that 🥺

Arundel8 · 16/10/2023 11:25

Thanks all. Feeling rather low today but sure will start to feel better with time. It’s just the thought of having to go through it again - I just feel we are throwing money down the drain. My eggs do fertilise but what if they aren’t good enough quality to implant - I am 41.
Wishing everyone lots of luck with their tests this week!

West8690 · 16/10/2023 11:40

@Arundel8 it's so daunting thinking about next steps when you've just put yourself through it. Sending lots of love your way.

It's OTD - went for my bloods at 8am and I'm still waiting for the call. It feels like these few hours last a lifetime.

JadeAC · 16/10/2023 13:18

@West8690 I hope you get the results you deserve today.

@Arundel8 Things are bound to be raw now, just wait until you’re feeling better to go back to the drawing board. It’s easy for us to say have another go but we don’t know your financial situation and it’s bloody expensive.

West8690 · 16/10/2023 14:31

Just had the call and got my BFP...with a slight caveat.

HCG came in at 196 (they set the bar at 200) so I have to go back on Wednesday to repeat bloods. They don't seem worried, but naturally I'm already panicked and giggling everything.

Keeping everything crossed and trying to be happy with the small win xxx

StormsPassIVF · 16/10/2023 14:35

@West8690 that is wonderful news! Congratulations on your BFP!!!!! Sounds very positive 🤍🤍

I had my consultation for the FET this morning. I’m 39 this week and we have 2 frosties left on this cycle. Dr suggested a double transfer because one is a lower grade quality.

Just waiting to find out if they can squeeze me in this cycle or if I have to wait until the next one.

LavenderJoy · 16/10/2023 15:08

@West8690 that's amazing news congratulations!! I would say I wouldn't worry as thats a good number how may days are you? I'm sure my clinics level is 50-100 but not sure if that depends on the day of the test x

JadeAC · 16/10/2023 15:12

@West8690 Congratulations! That’s wonderful news! I’m sure that number will be fine, it’s pretty much where they want it. Maybe you just implanted a touch later. I’m so pleased for you.

@StormsPassIVF That sounds like great news, hopefully he can fit you in. How do you feel about the two going in?

StormsPassIVF · 16/10/2023 15:38

@JadeAC thanks, I feel pretty relaxed about it. It will be our 2nd embryo transfer.

I think I am relaxed about it because the Dr suggested doing a double rather than saying…do you want a single or double.

They are the experts so happy to follow their lead 😊

I feel very ready to go again so reaaaaly hope we can start this cycle but if not it doesn’t matter, what will be will be.

Hope you are getting on well!!!

JadeAC · 16/10/2023 15:50

@StormsPassIVF im good thanks. No major symptoms. I a little bit of nausea but mainly just tired. Got our first scan booked for 27th

StormsPassIVF · 16/10/2023 15:52

@JadeAC thats great and the 27th will be here in no time!

Natasha90 · 16/10/2023 17:02

@West8690 congratulations to you.

Xx

JadeAC · 17/10/2023 10:36

@Arundel8 How are you today?

Arundel8 · 17/10/2023 10:48

@JadeAC thank you for checking in. I am just waiting for the call from my clinic to tell me my blood test was negative. Glad that I did the test on Sunday when I was at home with my husband.
As for next steps - I think I need this week to just cry and recover! But I don’t think we are defeated yet, so most likely will go again next month. It’s just so hard trying to work out whether it’s just a numbers game or whether there is something more fundamentally wrong with my eggs or body that won’t allow me to get pregnant. I don’t suppose anyone has done the Fertilysis tests? They are quite expensive but I suppose if they find something then could be worthwhile. Just hard to know whether you are just throwing money down the drain!

JadeAC · 17/10/2023 11:14

@Arundel8 I honestly do think it’s a numbers game for the most part. Stay positive. I’m rooting for you.

Natasha90 · 17/10/2023 20:09

Evening ladies,

Anyone used embryo glue?

Make a difference on the result?

Anyone had a frozen 3bc transferred?

Last question, what age range are you all? Xxx

JadeAC · 17/10/2023 20:52

@Natasha90 Hi, no to the questions so I can’t offer anything on that. I’m 36.

StormsPassIVF · 18/10/2023 06:07

@Natasha90 hey, I had embryo glue on my transfer and as you know it didn’t result in a BFP but if offered again I would use it again.

If they think it helps I’m happy to go with it.

Also my clinic doesn’t charge extra for embryo glue.

it’s not actually glue so worth reading up so you can make an informed decision.

LavenderJoy · 18/10/2023 07:31

@Natasha90 I think my clinic just use embryo glue as standard now, if I'm honest I don't think there is much difference in it, its more a type of media than glue if that makes sense, as I've had it on failed cycles too.

I haven't had a 3bc, but I do believe every embryo has a chance if it's good enough to freeze!

I'm 35, and this is my first sucessful cycle🤞

@Arundel8 have you had any implantation blood tests? I.e, ANA factor, lupus, thyroid antibodies, blood clottinggfactors etc....I had all of these before this cycle to rule anything out, my GP did most of these which saved a fortune and just had to pay for 1 at the clinic, all my tests come back fine apart from showing ANA positive so they allowed me to take prednisolone and baby aspirin this time, who knows if that's what made the difference this time. I also had a full blood count to check all my vitamin levels, basically a full MOT.

TheFanciestPants · 18/10/2023 09:56

@Natasha90 my clinic use embryo glue as standard. I think all the ones we looked at did, so guessing it helps in some way?!

@Arundel8 I find a lot of the clinics 'wait and see' type answers really quite shocking. I would definitely have the investigations listed above and also see if your hormones etc are optimal as this can make a huge difference.

@West8690 amazing news, congratulations!

Quick update from me, 6 follicles are still growing (after a mad panic earlier this week where it looked like only 4!) and some more have arrived so it's less disastrous than first thought. First even vaguely good news we have had at the fertility clinic so far 🥹

JadeAC · 18/10/2023 13:07

@TheFanciestPants Oh that’s really good news. 🤞

@StormsPassIVF have you had any confirmation if the doctor can fit you in this month?

Arundel8 · 18/10/2023 14:49

@LavenderJoy and @TheFanciestPants i have had my immunes and thyroid checked but not those other tests…will raise them with the doctor on our follow up session. What are ANA factors? Thank you both

LavenderJoy · 18/10/2023 16:22

@Arundel8 it's stands for Antinuclear antibodies, and part of immune testing. Some believe that if you have a positive it can impact implantation however, healthy woman can also be positive and it might just be a sign that you body has been fighting an illness so I don't think it really gives a lot of information, but some doctors believe prednisolone would help.

StormsPassIVF · 18/10/2023 16:40

@TheFanciestPants that’s wonderful to hear! Lovely you have some positive news and it’s all going in the right direction.

@JadeAC thanks for asking 😊 yes!! The clinic have squeezed me in, I couldn’t believe it! Meds delivered today, nurse planning appointment tomorrow. Period due in a day or so, if all goes well 2 frosties going in in 3 ish weeks.

I can’t believe I started stims on this thread with you all and now about to start my 2nd transfer! It feels like a long time and a short time all in one!
