Hi there, I start my medication for a fresh IVF round in September. Im not the best at navigating mumsnet and wondering if there are any groups set up for people starting around the same time? X

@fsr111 hope you are doing ok, you are in the toughest part just before OTD

@LavenderJoy hope you are ok too the wait is so tough.

@LostIVF I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had such a terrible experience. Look after yourself 🤍

Its impossible to not be exhausted by the whole process but I just tried to focus on the next milestone and no further. Thoughts are with you all xx

fsr111 · 05/10/2023 08:58

Period has started today, so I'm definitely out. Feeling so disappointed this morning, will take the weekend to feel sad about it and then going to try and think positive and see when we could have a FET with the frozen embryo we have.

Good luck everyone on your cycles. @LostIVF sorry you're having a bad time with your clinic, that's the last thing you need on top of everything else.

StormsPassIVF · 05/10/2023 09:27

@fsr111 sorry to hear that, hope you are ok.

Try not to go to Shake Shack and sit crying into your burger whilst laughing at the same time because the disappointment and hormones send you mad like I did.

Its brilliant you have a frostie and let’s face it, it’s mostly a numbers game so we just have to keep going.

Take all the time and tears you need, you’ve absolutely got this 🤍🤍🤍

JadeAC · 05/10/2023 09:43

@fsr111 im so sorry to hear that! Like you say, take the weekend to be sad (and drink wine) and then see where you go next. 💕

LavenderJoy · 05/10/2023 12:33

I'm not having a good day, I started to have some red blood this morning with period pains and backache 😫 I have spoken with the nurse and she advised me to up my cyclogest to 3x a day and im already on 1 lubion a day, honestly feel like it's the start of my period 😢 surely 7dp5dt sounds to late for implantation bleeding?
I've just been advised to wait it out until OTD unless I'm in really bad pain to call back but it could go either way and i suppose only time will tell, I'm so gutted it feels like I'm out before test day.

West8690 · 05/10/2023 12:45

@fsr111 so sorry, just take some time to relax and do something nice for yourself over the next few days. The fact you've got a frostie there is great ❤️

@LavenderJoy it's so hard not to over analyse because there really aren't any hard and fast rules. They usually say implantation bleed is days 5-7 so you're not out yet!

2 days post 5dt and I'm feeling dreadful. Sickly and crampy and my bowels are awful (sorry tmi!) I'm panicking every time I go to the toilet expecting to see blood. I'm on a high dose of meds because my body doesnt naturally create progesterone (thanks PCOS) so trying to rationalise that it's my body getting used to the 3 cyclogest tablets and 2 lubion injections racy day but it's so tough.

LavenderJoy · 05/10/2023 13:00

@West8690 thank you for your positive words. I wish I had my progesterone checked, I am on a natural cycle so hopefully I have my own aswell but I've only ever been checked during a medicated FET so no idea if I low levels naturally.

It's horrible isn't it, I bet that's down to the lovely progesterone but the symptoms seem so much worse during the 2ww, hang on in there!

West8690 · 05/10/2023 13:03

@LavenderJoy keep your chin up and try not to worry about progesterone, it's basically the cause of my infertility which is why I know it's so low. It means I don't ovulate and my lining never thickens up.

When's your OTD? Tuesday? Just think, less than a week ❤️

JadeAC · 05/10/2023 13:59

@West8690 Try not to worry about the cramping. I had it from transfer and it didn't Stop. Still get it now. I was convinced AF was due anytime. Was so disheartened as it felt just like that but I’ve been getting BFP since Monday. I’m on 3x progesterone and 3 x some oestrogen tablets and I think it might be that that’s caused the cramps. It’s not as bad as it was in the first 10 days after transfer but still get them now at different times of the day.

LavenderJoy · 05/10/2023 14:30

@West8690 thank you OTD is Monday so we will see, I think my lining was around 11mm before transfer so hopefully that was a good sign my levels are normal but who knows, I'll just take one day at time, the cramping has eased now.

West8690 · 05/10/2023 23:14

@JadeAC thank you, that is reassuring. It's strange, you'd think after 4 rounds I'd know what to expect but I think you forget so much. I don't have a natural cycle and haven't had a period in years so as soon as I feel any cramping I panic. Especially after our MC in May, I just keep expecting to start bleeding. I know it's all just panic but I can't help it.

@LavenderJoy 11 is amazing!!! Mine was 7.1 6 days before transfer and they said that was thick enough, they didn't tell me what it was by transfer but they did say it looked good so I'm guessing that means it was thicker. But if 7 is good enough for transfer 11 is definitely a good start! xxx

fsr111 · 07/10/2023 10:30

Hope all was good on OTD @JadeAC. Has your clinic booked you in for a scan?

I'm feeling a bit better, was pretty miserable on Thursday, but coming to terms with it now. Have an appointment booked for 18th to discuss the cycle and then we're hoping to go again with the frostie at the end of the month. Definitely going to enjoy a few glasses of wine this weekend though!

JadeAC · 07/10/2023 10:47

@fsr111 oh that’s not long is it! That’s good news. I rang them yesterday and they said to come in Monday to discuss things like scans but you don’t get one till about 8weeks so I think they just give me more progesterone. I was expecting blood tests or something but not sure they are going to do any. It’s with NHS. Does that sound right?

fsr111 · 07/10/2023 11:48

I don't think the clinic we are with would have done a blood test if it had been positive either. Just more progesterone and see you in a few weeks. Guess it's the same if you get pregnant naturally, no one actually checks for definite, they just take your word for it!

JadeAC · 07/10/2023 12:50

@fsr111 yeah they said the tests are enough. My friend said it was same for her so must be right. I think you have an 8 week scan though rather than have to wait for 12 weeks. I hope I stay on the progesterone as every bit of help is worth it isn’t it.

LavenderJoy · 08/10/2023 07:49

I can't believe I finally get to write this, my first ever BFP! Its been over a 10 year journey, 7 embryos transfered (some were double) and multiple cycles later, i never thought it would happen.
Its been such an emotional morning already.

Although I have my 2 lines, my next worry has started :( I don't feel that my line is that dark for 10dp5dt, so I am remain cautiously optimistic and will test again tomorrow on my OTD and take it one day at a time, as today I feel that all my symotom are disappearing, I wonder I if will ever stop obsessing and worrying.

@JadeAC I think every clinic is different. I know some give you HPT whereas ours will only confirm with blood tests and then give scans at 7 and 9 weeks. A positive is a positive whichever way you get it!

@LavenderJoy congratulations!!!! That's absolutely incredible news and I think that line is very dark and distinguishable for 10dp 5dt!!!! How are you feeling???? xxx

West8690 · 08/10/2023 08:07

@LavenderJoy ps, I don't think you ever stop worrying....just try and take a little joy in every bit of positive news you can xxx

JadeAC · 08/10/2023 08:27

@LavenderJoy congratulations!!!!!! That’s amazing news. I think that line is perfect!

LavenderJoy · 08/10/2023 08:54

Thank you @West8690 and @JadeAC im keeping everything crossed 🤞
I'm feeling actually good, which is strange lol, I don't really have any symptoms just the odd waves of nausea when I'm hungry, and I've had a bit of back ache on and off, other than that I wound never have know it had worked.

I did have some spotting at 7dp5dt I thought it was the start of my period as I had cramps too, but it must have been implantation bleeding, I didn't have any bleeding on any previous cycles, so maybe that was my sign this time.

fsr111 · 08/10/2023 09:34

Congratulations @LavenderJoy, so pleased for you! What a journey you have been on to get here. I think that line looks perfect!

StormsPassIVF · 08/10/2023 11:27

@LavenderJoy huge congratulations and bloody hell what a journey you have been on!

Its so lovely to have positive news it gives everyone hope and pushes us all to not give up.

Wishing you all the best for this pregnancy 🤍🤍🤍

bloss0mx · 08/10/2023 11:36

Big congrats @LavenderJoy 💕😊

LavenderJoy · 08/10/2023 12:42

Thank you everyone, it doesnt feel real and i dont think it's sunk in yet, if it can work for me then there is hope from everyone, I honestly thought it would never happen x

West8690 · 08/10/2023 16:53

So nobody knows we're going through this round, it just felt too much to have everyone else's emotional baggage as well as our own.
As if the 2WW wasn't hard enough, yesterday we went to my sister in laws birthday party with our 2yo. Her friend was there with her 4 year old and 6wo, kept complaining about 'how hard it was having two' what a difficult age 2 is and now she 'has to do it all over again', followed up with 'are you going to have any more then'. I responded with 'well she was IVF and we've lost 2 in the last year. She sharp shut up.
Why do people think it's ok to ask!? And at the worst time too, as if I wasn't anxious enough 🤦🏻‍♀️

Sorry for the rant, I just feel like it's everyone's favourite question, despite being nobody's bloody business!!!! xxx
