Hi there, I start my medication for a fresh IVF round in September. Im not the best at navigating mumsnet and wondering if there are any groups set up for people starting around the same time? X

@JadeAC it sounds like my clinic doesn't offer day 3 transfers, they're definitely planning to wait until day 5 (or poss day 6 for one of them, which only got fertilised yesterday). But they did offer to call with an update tomorrow where they'd normally wait until day 5.

@taytay2020 oh right I didn’t realise not everywhere did 3dt. We’re NHS. I see most people seem to be 5dt though. I know is disheartening that after collecting so many your down to 2 but you really do only need one and there’s nothing to say the 2 left won’t make it to day 5. It’s better to have 2 at this stage than none.

@taytay2020 sorry to hear that, did you have ivf or icsi?
Fingers crossed those 2 will keep going , it only take one, and you never know one of those maybe your lucky one ❤️

@LavenderJoy We had ICSI. I guess I'm just feeling very pessimistic now as we've had such shocking attrition already. I found stims sooo painful that I was really hoping I wouldn't have to do it again! I think it would be even harder next time with less beginner's optimism.

Hi haven’t posted here before, currently panicking. Had embryo transfer on 23.9, due to take pregnancy test on Tue but a heavy bleeding started today. Just called our clinics emergency number, they will call back tomorrow as no emergency doctor available.

Has anybody else bled post transfer day 8 and have positive stories…? This is our 1st round of (fresh IVF), had natural pregnancy before which ended up miscarriage in March. Being trying almost 5 years now, so been a long process (unexplained infertility). Have a horrible feeling now something is just wrong with my body, like my body cannot support embryos and pregnancy (this embryo was outstanding, also got 3 other outstanding embryos frozen in this cycle).

Oh @LostIVF i’m so sorry. That sounds really rubbish. It’s so hard not to panic.
do you think it could be your period starting?
I have read lots of stories about women bleeding through pregnancy and having healthy babies but bleeding in my own personal experience hasn’t been a good thing. You’ve got to somehow get through the night and then insist on being seen first thing in the morning - make a fuss if you need to. Even if it’s bad news, it will be better than the agony of the unknown you are in right now.

@LostIVF I had a heavy bleed 5 days after I got my BFP with my first transfer. My little girl is now 2 - she just gave us a massive scare! It can happen if you have a cyst that comes away, a left over follicle or even just some old blood that hasn't left your body, try not to panic too much ❤️

I'm really struggling. Transfer is on Tuesday and I'm so up and down. I just can't cope with the thought of going through another MC, the last one at 13 weeks was just heartbreaking. My anxiety is through the roof and DH isn't being particularly supportive. I think because we are using Frosties it's been easy for him to check out of the process (which I think until we got transfer date I was trying to do too) and he just tells me he's keeping out of my way so he doesn't say or do the wrong thing. Not particularly helpful or calming.

Any tips on how not to lose your mind!? 🤣

I have no idea what goes on in DH heads during IVF. I almost wonder whether they mentally check out in some way to protect themselves or because they don’t know how to be involved.

Thank you @West8690 and @SarahScone unfortunately bleeding has continued heavy all night. My clinic was due to open at 08:00am, but nobody isn’t picking up phone (have emailed them as well). Feeling very unwell, just called sick at work. Husband think we should just drive to the clinic (1.5hr drive) or go to local A&E - but due doctors strike I think that’s just going to be waste of time.

I’m so sorry @LostIVF you must have had an awful night. If you’re bleeding heavily then you need to go to a&e (I think definition of heavy is bleeding through a pad in an hour, but double check that). Can you go to an a&e at a hospital where there is a gynaecology unit??

@SarahScone just spoke with our clinic - there is nothing they can do today, advised me to rest, drink water and continue with paracetamol, and do the pregnancy test tomorrow. Trying to go back to sleep now, luckily husband is WFH today so at least I have help and company today!

@LostIVF that sounds awful. You know your body, if it’s really bad I’d still go to A&E

Thank you all - not feeling great, haven’t slept but rested most of the day. Bleeding is still continuing, luckily pain is easing off luckily with paracetamol. Waiting to do the test tomorrow - so at least this cycle is done and dusted & won’t need to continue with the pessaries.

@StormsPassIVF thank you, I'm trying (and failing) to stay calm. Had a big talk with DH last night and it really helped. I think this whole process is just tough no matter if it's your 1st or 4th time. I just need to try and think about this round and not think back to the losses, every round is different.

@West8690 I think that’s a really good way to deal with it. It’s natural to be anxious though this is a tough process.

How is everyone doing on their 2ww and cycles?
Im 5dp5dt and had another real down day today I just can't snap myself out of thinking it hasn't worked, I feel like my period is about to show :( yesterday I felt so emotional I broke down to my manager at work for no reason which was embarrassing 🙃
Im praying for everyone else 🙏

@LavenderJoy I'm 7dp5dt (although I keep wondering if the day I had it was actually day 1 and so I'm 8dpt?) and I've been feeling totally miserable, these last few days have been so long it feels like time is going backwards. I'm absolutely exhausted and I have been pretty much since the transfer, I think it's just my funk that making me tired. Sorry to hear you're feeling it too, I'm finding it so hard to stay positive! 🫠

I’ve caved and tested yesterday and today and have had two BFP. I’m actually flabbergasted as the only symptoms I have had are period cramps that are identical to what I get every month so I was certain it would be negative! We’re obviously really happy but the line seems the same and I’d have felt better if it was getting darker. I just can’t actually believe it! It says something when eve a positive has you anxious it’s not real 🙄Hopefully it will be darker tomorrow!

@fsr111 they told me that day one is the day after your transfer

@LavenderJoy I was exactly the same as I’ve cramped every day since transfer

@JadeAC wow congratulations on your bfp! It has given me some hope! I've had cramping since about 3dp but has been mild and on and off, also felt sicky the last couple of days but I had similar symptoms on my bfn cycles, so whi knows!

It's so hard isn't it, although the says are long are I really don't want it to get to test day either, mine is Monday but think I'm going to test Sunday whilst my partner is here with me and off work, I'm dreading the day of another bfn, I don't think I can go through it again!
