Hi there, I start my medication for a fresh IVF round in September. Im not the best at navigating mumsnet and wondering if there are any groups set up for people starting around the same time? X

Hi @Kjaj87 I am due to start my meds end of August so the main part of my cycle will also be in September. Good luck to you 😊 is it your first round?

I can't see any other threads set up for September yet x

Floralsandsmiles · 13/08/2023 21:13

I'm starting mine mid September when my AF comes. Just suffered a CP so absolutely devasted as I thought I would mean we wouldn't have to go through this.. 😒
This would be where to talk about your IVF journey and there isn't a September group yet, I was looking for one. So thank you for starting this one up xxx

marshk · 14/08/2023 07:16

Hi everyone - I will also be starting my first cycle in mid September ish!

ka3rine · 14/08/2023 13:28

Hi everyone, I will also start my 2nd cycle mid September. As my 1st cycle got cancelled as I am a poor responder on high stims. I told my doctor that we try to do lower stims this round. Also I just got the DHEA tablets today and would like to take it for a couple of weeks before starting a new round.

marshk · 14/08/2023 13:55

Not sure if anyone knows the answer to this but is there a reason why you may start the injections on different days - day 2 or day 3 etc

April623 · 14/08/2023 14:50

@marshk I'm not 100% but does it depend on the day of your baseline scan? For example in my first cycle they couldn't fit me in until day 3 so I started injections on day 3. If they could see me on day 2 I guess my injections may have started earlier. I don't think it matters too much x

itsmschanandlerbong · 14/08/2023 22:14

Hello, I'm due to start in September too. This will be our sibling round. I am excited / scared / anxious, all at the same time!

fsr111 · 15/08/2023 08:05

Hey can I join? We'll be doing our first round of ICSI at the start of September. We have a DD4 already, but we have struggled TTC this time around. I'm feeling all the feelings - just wondering how not to get my hopes up too high. Anyone have any tips for that?!

GwenH82 · 15/08/2023 14:27

I'm also starting my first round in September. Feeling very anxious at the moment.

Kjaj87 · 15/08/2023 17:51

Hi everyone 😊 Wishing you all the luck in the world for this cycle ❤️

No this isn’t my first IVF, I have previously had four rounds, first round miscarriage, second resulted in my now 9 year old twins, third was negative and fourth another miscarriage.

It has been a while since going through it all so feel completely new to it all again as we are having a full fresh cycle xxx

Nice to 'meet' you everyone - I'm really excited to just get going now but hate feeling like I'm wishing time away!

TheFanciestPants · 15/08/2023 18:59

Hey hey, I'd like to join please and thank you for setting it up 🥰

First IVF cycle (MFI), NHS funded, we had our initial appointment on Friday and seems like they are going to just crack on!

Bit nervous, and feel like a real newbie. I wasn't expecting this to happen so fast (got an email today to book my appointments so a bit overwhelmed).

It'll be lovely to go through the journey with you guys, infertility feels like a very lonely place.

Hi @TheFanciestPants - we're in a similar boat. We're having ICSI due to MFI too!

TheFanciestPants · 15/08/2023 20:30

@marshk thank you for sharing, so sorry as it's not a boat anyone would choose, but at least for me, it's nice not to be lonely!

Is0lda · 16/08/2023 05:51

Hello everyone! Is it okay if I join you all? I've been waiting to see a September thread.

I started down regulation yesterday with my first injection! Not expecting to start stims until September tho. This is my first cycle of IVF. I'm in a same sex couple, but have lowish AMH for my age (late 20s). I'm anxious to see how I respond to the medication as a result. Being a same sex couple we're also self funding all of this, which adds an extra layer of pressure.

Looking forward to sharing in the journey with you all!

TheFanciestPants · 16/08/2023 17:27

Hey @Is0lda 👋

I was wondering if anyone had any insights on when to expect egg collection. Not sure if it's relevant but I normally ovulate on cd11/12, so should I expect it then or will the meds mean it's more likely to be later. Or is it unknowable in advance😅

April623 · 16/08/2023 17:59

@TheFanciestPants From my limited experience (1 cycle) I think it's unknowable in advance! It will depend on how you respond to your medication and the clinic also plays a factor. For example my clinic only does egg collection on Mon, Weds & Fri so they have to fit you into those days. Not ideal in hindsight really. I think mine was on day 12 but I wonder if I'd have got more eggs if I went a couple of days longer. I didn't think to ask any of this at the time!

Aww hi @TheFanciestPants ! I remember you from another group! How exciting for you, glad we all have each other on this journey too.. as like you say, it can be a very lonely place! Xxx

MaybeBabyTwo · 17/08/2023 08:10

Morning all, Day 1 today so I'll be doing my FET transfer early Sept. First IVF gave us my daughter, then a FET that failed and then one that worked but I had a miscarriage which was beyond shit. So I've done my requisite three months waiting and now I'm ready with another FET. Gut feel is that this is one to get out of the way and it won't work, so that's not a great start but I know better than to be hopeful now.

Seems you all are doing fresh rounds so if I'm better placed elsewhere then just say!

fsr111 · 17/08/2023 20:09

@MaybeBabyTwo, sorry to hear you have been through this journey a few times already. I had my treatment consultation today, and went away feeling totally freaked out by everything. Can I ask you, as someone who has done this a few times before before - is it as intense as it sounds? I knew it wasn't an easy process but cane away from the meeting today thinking I was totally under prepared.

TheFanciestPants · 17/08/2023 20:30

@Floralsandsmiles hey hey! Sorry you find yourself here, but nice to have a familiar face :).
I hear you on the absolutely devastated point, we had a miscarriage after trying for a few months in Feb, which was super tough (as is all pregnancy loss) and especially when we found out the odds of us getting pregnant naturally (due to husband's sperm) were basically 0! But since getting the IVF funding and go ahead it has been more hopeful and I have my fingers crossed for us all 🤞🤞🤞
We have our consent appointment tomorrow (as well as meds arriving) and baseline scan on Monday (my clinic do end of current cycle before starting stims early next cycle- treatment plan says CD2).
So I feel the freaking out too @fsr111 so any advice is much appreciated ❤️
Thanks @April623 that's so helpful and I will ask our clinic tomorrow about egg collection days.
I did yoga calm today which was magical and feel more myself and have booked acupuncture for tomorrow, not convinced anything will actually make a difference but want to give it my best shot.

MaybeBabyTwo · 17/08/2023 22:53

@fsr111 the miscarriage was awful, but I've found IVF to be absolutely fine. It's a bit more intense with a fresh cycle obviously but I would do IVF 100x over rather than have to go through a single further month of fruitless trying! Some people have issues with OHSS etc but it was a breeze for me in comparison to the agony of 3yrs of futile trying.

bloss0mx · 22/08/2023 16:56

Hi all - happy to see there's this thread going as I've just been told I'm good to start with my first cycle (NHS) come mid / end September. I wasn't expecting it to be this soon, so feeling a wee bit unprepared. At the consultation, they advised I'll be on the highest stims due to low AMH but we didn't discuss anything else eg vitamins to take etc. Any guidance on what else your consultations covered that I should be aware of or should follow up on? Many thanks and good luck. 💕

GwenH82 · 23/08/2023 11:41

All my medication was delivered yesterday so it's all starting to feel very real. Should be starting in 13 days time eek! Has anyone had any experience with the ovaleap injection pen, is it as easy as it looks? I'm not good with needles so kind of dreading this part more than any side effects. Other half will help out if I freak out completely the first time though 🤣
