@wtawtaw great news on the clear bloods, you can now tell the world about your little bean 🥰

@ASGIRC sorry to hear about your hospital dash again but better to be safe than sorry. Glad to hear it’s nothing to worry about, my partner laughs as I check after every wipe due to previous spotting, they don’t get the anxiety that comes with it all. Hope your hope and in bed now.

Charming81 · 17/09/2023 07:55

@ASGIRC oh no, I am so sorry! Glad they are not worried, but I can only imagine how stressful it is! I check every time I wipe 🤦🏻‍♀️ How do you feel in general?

If you are bothered by the pessaries is because you didn't have to have 2 injections a day 🤣 it has been more than 3 months of 2 daily injections and I am really, really fed up. One more week and I am counting days. Pessaries I could use them forever compared to the rest.

wtawtaw · 17/09/2023 09:18

Glad you got seen @ASGIRC was it similar to what I had at 11 weeks, a gush of red/pink tinged watery stuff?? Glad they are not concerned though, did you get another scan?

wtawtaw · 17/09/2023 09:19

@IVFfirsttimer91 sorry I missed your a about how long to take the aspirin for...they told me to take it up until birth

ASGIRC · 17/09/2023 12:15

@Charming81 @SH998 @wtawtaw
I was seen after 3 LONG hours. I was literally the last one waiting...

Everything was fine, baby is fine, heart beating away nicely.

Yes @wtawtaw it was similar, but it has no colour. It was just really sticky, and I looked like I'd peed myself, there was so much of it!!

The doctors were all "that's normal, nothing to worry about" but my pregnancy book says clear discharge is a reason to go to the EPU. So how are you supposed to distinguish between the "nornal" clear discharge and the "abnormal" one?

I went to the maternity where I'm due to give birth and something troubled me...
There were loads of men waiting in the waiting room, whose partners were literally giving birth (as I gathered).
So why weren't they with them?!
I'm gonna have to investigate this, as it is completely against policy to not allow a birthing partner.

Charming81 · 17/09/2023 14:29

Maybe they had someone else with them? No all partners want to assist the birth.

Have you thought about who will you want with you when you'll give birth?

Walker12 · 17/09/2023 16:51

Glad all is well @ASGIRC, there seems to be so many symptoms that overlap between normal pregnancy stuff and something of concern!
@Charming81 I'm with you waiting for the meds to end, I've got no idea when I will stop the enoxaparin as they want me to keep taking it until the consultant reviews me (I've had a previous blood clot), just had to request a GP letter so I can take it on holiday with me! Pessaries I'm on until 16 weeks, counting down!!

ASGIRC · 17/09/2023 16:58

@Charming81 it will be my mom, if it's anyone.

I don't know whether they wanted to or not, but one of them kept having calls from his partner, as she was alone, and in pain, and no nurses were coming, despite her calling... I'm sure he'd have loved to be by her side!

Another ended up going to the car to get the maternity bag, once his partner went in, then he was called in and came out with her clothes in a bag, and took it all to the car. Then came back to the waiting room, sans bags.

It didn't seem like it was an option for them to go in...

Again, will have to investigate.

There's time still!

@Walker12 OMG 16 weeks?!?!? Why so long?!
How many are you doing a day?

5 days until I stop mine! And I've just checked and I also have about enough liners to get the through until then!

Charming81 · 17/09/2023 18:14

It sounds odd... I don't think they still have Covid rules, I hope!
Definitely worth investigating. It must be horrible to give birth on your own.
If this pregnancy will go well, I will ask for a c-section and, fortunately, here in the UK they allow partners also in theater.

Walker12 · 17/09/2023 20:12

Surely they must be allowed in, I'd definitely want to know too!!
I'm not sure why I'm on it up to 16 weeks, that's the NICE guidance for previous miscarriage and bleeding and whilst I've had a miscarriage before I've not had any bleeding in this pregnancy. It's all been prescribed already, so many boxes!! It was extended after I had OHSS. I will be asking at my consultant appt but I'm probably just going to keep taking it, as I have it. But i'm definitely sick of emptying the bathroom bin every few days as it's full of pantyliners 😂

Walker12 · 17/09/2023 20:13

Oh and it's 2 a day, so could be worse I suppose@ASGIRC

SH998 · 17/09/2023 20:18

@Charming81 are you able to request a c section? I thought it was only allowed if issues, such as breach etc

Charming81 · 17/09/2023 20:29

Yes, it is your right to ask for a c-section. They will always try to persuade you, but in the end it is your choice and they have to accept it.

I honestly don't want to have a natural birth for many reason, main one is that I had a heart surgery 4 years ago and I am terrified I won't be able to cope with the stress of a labor

ASGIRC · 17/09/2023 23:01

Covid protocols have been gone for AGES. but even then, the DGS (basically the department that regulates health - but not the cabinet) said it was akin to obstetric violence to not allow partners at birth, and that hospitals should update their protocols to allow them (be it with tests, masks, whatever!)

I will definitely be asking whats what when the time comes. And I will kick up the BIGGEST fuss if I am refused a birthing partner.

@Charming81 I might be going the c section route too... I am absolutely terrified of natural birth. And tears. terrified. So we will see. Obviously, a C section is also not a pleasant experience, and the recovery is even longer (and they keep you in hospital for FIVE DAYS here... but also its THREE for natural birth!!!!! THREE!!!!! I go into a homicidal range just thinking about it!

@Walker12 oh god yes, the bin is constantly full! I change them 2x a day as well, cause theres so much gunk...
2x a day isnt toooooooo bad, I guess... But the quicker I stop them, the better!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 18/09/2023 10:00

Hi guys!!!

@ASGIRC im so sorry to hear that you had a scare and had to go back to the EPU! I’m glad everything is fine with baby though!

@Charming81 i was asked in my initial midwife appointment if I wanted a c section, natural birth, or water birth. I thought it was a standard question that was asked? You can definitely choose to have one though if you want one.

ASGIRC · 19/09/2023 01:00

Every time I think symptoms are better, nausea comes back with a vengeance!

The past 2 days have been awful! Particularly in the evening, but it's starting early!

Shouldn't I be done with this nonsense now?! 😂😂

Hope everyone is doing well!!

3 days of pessaries left!!!!!

Charming81 · 19/09/2023 07:11

Same here! The past 2 days have been awful, especially afternoon and evening 🥴 6 days of injections left for me! 🎉

ASGIRC · 19/09/2023 19:31

Charming81 · 19/09/2023 07:11

Same here! The past 2 days have been awful, especially afternoon and evening 🥴 6 days of injections left for me! 🎉

Were so close!!!!!!
Ive done my last 2 "at work" pessaries! I have the next 2 days off, so will be home to put them in! And then Im DONE!!!!!

Today was worse earlier in the afternoon than now, but still..
Im sick of feeling sick!

ASGIRC · 20/09/2023 19:09

Today was a hard day in my due date whatsapp group.
2 of the girls found out they had miss miscarriages. Which obviously sent us all into a spiral of anxiety.

Im trying to be level headed. I have a scan in less than a week, and I had one less than a week ago.

It will all be fine!
I cant wait for the scan... I also realised that while Ive had loads of scans recently, they were all really quick, probably less than 1 minute long, and I havent even seen the bean move around at all. Which also makes me worry if everything is ok or not, despite the heartbeat being strong!

Hope you are all doing well!

1 more day of pessaries!!!

wtawtaw · 20/09/2023 19:20

@ASGIRC that is super sad 😢 was it at their 12 week scans and did they have scans before then?

How are everyone's symptoms?

Hope you're feeling better now @IVFfirsttimer91

Walker12 · 20/09/2023 19:28

Oh that's that's sad @ASGIRC :( I'm not sure I will ever fully relax, and definitely feeling the anxiety creep up again now the 12wk scan is nearing so really get your worries. But just try to focus on having seen that lovely little heartbeat.
Glad your pessaries are stopping (and also very jealous!).
@wtawtaw My symptoms are OK just continuous low level nausea, huge boobs and extra tired! How are you??

ASGIRC · 20/09/2023 19:30

@wtawtaw no, one was at a 10 week consult, the other at an 8 week.

The 8 week-er, she had had deminishing hCG levels, but a scan last week had shown a heartbeat.

The 10 week one, the embryo had stopped at 7 weeks.

My symptoms are awful this week! I have had nausea every day since sunday! Today I felt ok until about an hour ago.
Who decided to call this morning sickness? If anything, the morning is when I feel best!! 😂

How are you doing?

ASGIRC · 20/09/2023 19:32

@Walker12 I love how you describe you symptoms as ok, and I described them as awful, and they are probably the same LOL
I am a horrible "patient". A minor cold will have be behaving like Im on actual deaths door. I suffer from man-flu often! 😂

But yes, I am trying to remain positive! Were nearly there! Next week we have our 12 week scan and hopefully everything is ok!

wtawtaw · 20/09/2023 19:42

Same ladies! Nausea daily, super tired 😴 managed a proper meal last night though 🥳

What dates are your 12 week scans? And anyone else's? I think it's only me and ivffirstimer that's had our 12 week one so far, could be wrong though!

I started to make a list of everything we need to buy between now and when baby arrives 🤯 SO much stuff, the list is looooong and I still haven't finished!

Walker12 · 20/09/2023 19:44

Ah that's so sad for them. I never had a scan with my previous loss and I can only imagine it makes it all the more traumatic.

But yes hopefully we get some reassurance and lovely scan photos next week.

I think my tolerance for my symptoms has been affected by the OHSS shitshow and pain/extreme bloating I had right at the start 😂 so whilst I'm uncomfortable now it still feels no way near that!! I'm definitely having days when I am just constantly moaning about it though, not always positive I promise haha.
