@ASGIRC thats great to hear, hopefully that will settle your nerves for at least a week or a so lol 😂

ASGIRC · 08/09/2023 14:57

@SH998 fingers crossed!! I dont want to feel that anxious again! I was even feeling sick, and it wasnt pregnancy nausea! Just good old stress nausea!

I do feel a bit silly having gone to the hospital for "nothing".
I am also absolutely exhausted, and have to go to work, for what can only be described as a SHIT day (the joys of working at a sports tv station, on an evening shift, on a weekend -Friday is, for all intents and purposes, weekend, when it pertains to sports!)

SH998 · 08/09/2023 16:25

@ASGIRC oh bless you, you’ve really worried yourself and your little bean is sitting tight in there happy as Larry. I know how that feels, we worry ourself sick over them … welcome to parenthood lol 😂

Hopefully the evening will fly by and you can get yourself home to bed in no time 👍

Walker12 · 08/09/2023 18:07

So glad all is well @ASGIRC and you got to see your lovely little bean again! I think it was the right call to get checked out. I've felt so rough today and had diarrhea all afternoon, do people think this is pregnancy related or not?!

ASGIRC · 08/09/2023 18:09

@Walker12 I know a few people with diarrhea due to pregnancy. id say see if it resolves, and if not, call 111? or your midwife?

SH998 · 08/09/2023 18:10

@Walker12 ive pretty much had it since the transfer, I’m used to it now and have put it down to medication/ pregnancy hormones.

Walker12 · 08/09/2023 18:32

Thanks both, it's definitely settled since earlier I'm just feeling very 'hungover' currently. Making sure I'm drinking lots. And I've taken myself to bed 😂 typical when it's like the nicest day of the year so far here!

SH998 · 08/09/2023 18:40

@Walker12 im so glad I’ll be pregnant through the winter months and baby due in spring … I couldn’t manage 6 months pregnant in this heat.

@ASGIRC i expect your used to the heat over there 🌞

ASGIRC · 08/09/2023 18:42

@SH998 I am, and even my 14 years in the UK did not make me like the heat any less.

HOWEVER! I planned my transfer to have a winter/spring baby. I do not think I would be very happy massively pregnant in the height of summer!

Walker12 · 08/09/2023 18:59

Yes I've had the same thought @SH998! Spring seems such a nice time to have a tiny baby around too, not too cold or too hot hopefully!

ASGIRC · 08/09/2023 19:47

After my stress of this morning, I almost booked a last minute flight to London for this weekend, as a group of friends are getting together and my FOMO was through the roof.

But my friends, instead of cheering on my insane idea, were sensible and told me not to, so Im now staying home... Might sulk a bit, and have awful FOMO!😂

Charming81 · 09/09/2023 08:30

@ASGIRC wise friend! This is my last and only chance of having a baby so I won't do anything to jeopardize it. For the first time in 42 years, I didn't go to Sicily to see my family this summer. Really difficult for me as I always go at least for a month over the summer, but I could never forgive myself if something happened. I think I'll see them next year now (I hope) 😅

IVFfirsttimer91 · 09/09/2023 11:58

How is everyone doing in this heat?! I’m currently on a train and I feel like my skin is melting! Honestly @ASGIRC it is incredibly unpleasant in london at the moment as we are just not equipt for weather like this. You dodged a bullet!

Charming81 · 09/09/2023 12:09

@IVFfirsttimer91 I think I am the happiest person in the UK right now 😍 I love this weather. But I don't live in London so I don't have to catch the tube or a bus and I am enjoying my garden. In London I would probably struggle as well

IVFfirsttimer91 · 09/09/2023 12:26

@Charming81 I’m so jealous, london is gross in the heat. Everything just stinks 😷 made worse with my super sensitive sense of smell right now. My house is close to a Brooke so in the heat that smells as well 😂 I’m not having fun.

ASGIRC · 09/09/2023 12:37

@IVFfirsttimer91 I love London in the heat! Sure, the tube is unpleasant, but I love the summer smell!
Also, I wasnt going to stay in London, I was heading to Hertfordshire, to stay at a friends, with a garden and water pistols and friends. For less than 2 days!
Plus... That heat is just the normal Lisbon summer. And contrary to popular belief, air con is not a standard here! Particularly in homes.
Its been worse here, with 25 degrees, but 100% humidity!

@Charming81 travelling is not a risk, though. Particularly if youre not going to a 3rd world country, where drinking the water might not be advisable.

On my April due date whatsapp group, I swear most of the girls have been on holiday. Some to the caribbean! Zero risk. And all is well.
There are very few external factors that affect the pregnancy, if it is going well.

IVFfirsttimer91 · 09/09/2023 12:43

@ASGIRC that actually sounds lovely! I’m sorry you didn’t come now! I wish I was built for the heat so I could enjoy this though. I’m sorry about the humidity! That must be rough

ASGIRC · 09/09/2023 12:55

@IVFfirsttimer91 its been disgusting. It looks like its cold! But then you go out and start sweating immediately!!!
Its gonna get better from now, though. Temps up to 30 degrees, but 40% humidity, which is pretty standard!

I love the heat! Even in London (and I lived there for 14 years!!).
At some point I live in a house that took direct sunlight from about 1pm to sunset... my room was on the top floor, low ceilings. It wasnt unusual for it to reach 35 degrees, even at night, during a heat wave. I still slept like a baby! LOL

Im sad I didnt go, but it would have been really tiring, too. I shall start planning my NYE trip, to see the same friends and party like its 1999! (in a 4 star hotel, obvs! )

Walker12 · 09/09/2023 13:51

Soo hot here too but I have barely moved as feeling all the nausea and tiredness today!

I agree travel is safe @ASGIRC I specifically asked my midwife about this as due to go away in a few weeks and was worrying. Especially a holiday- a break away from the stress of work, with nice weather, swimming etc HAS to be a good thing :) definitely get planning your NYE trip, sounds fab.

ASGIRC · 09/09/2023 17:20

@Walker12 Im very excited about it!
Will wait until the 12 week scan to book, to make sure all is well, though.

I need a holiday stat!! End of December is still a lifetime away!

Today was my turn to have diarrhea... Just the once, so not so bad! No idea what might have caused it!

Walker12 · 09/09/2023 17:45

@ASGIRC oh no, glad it was just the once, I was not loving life yesterday 😂I was only grateful that I was WFH yesterday so could run to the loo between meetings. It must be a rush of hormones or simething as they will probably be peaking around this time (you're just a few days ahead of me I think)
Today I've gone back to the usual nausea/tiredness/carb craving!!

ASGIRC · 09/09/2023 17:53

@Walker12 yeah, probably! My nausea has been generally better since I hit 9 weeks, even though I had 2 awful days earlier in the week.

I cant say I have any cravings... In general Im less hungry now than normal... And still losing weight, despite eating 2 meals a day, and a couple of snacks!

Im not even noticing any proper aversions, though cooking is still not appealing.
Fingers crossed this is my body getting rid of first trimester symptoms!

I had ordered an uber eats burger, which was... disappointing, to say the least... So only had about half. And then was watching tv, when suddenly I had to RUN to the toilet! Its easy to think it was caused by the burger, but there wasnt enough time for anything in it to cause anything!

SH998 · 09/09/2023 18:02

I do love this weather but it’s not the same without a glass of Prosecco lol 😂

ASGIRC · 10/09/2023 02:35

@SH998 tell me about it!!

I went out to meet some friends, and when I arrived in their neighbourhood (feeling sick as a dog, as my blood pressure had dropped on the way - public transport- and left me feeling queasy) they were sitting in a beer garden having a couple of Aperol Spritz. I was soo jealous!!

I had bought 0% beer, which I had with dinner, but it's just not the same.

Now got home and the diarrhea is in full force... 😩😩😩

Charming81 · 10/09/2023 14:19

Good afternoon girls. I hope everyone is feeling well (or better).

I had my scan today (10+2) and all seems fine 🥰 The baby measures 3.7 cm and has a nice and strong heartbeat ❤️ For the first time I felt a bit emotional and not just anxious when I saw those little arms and legs moving around ❤️

Next will be my 12 week scan together with the NIPT test 🤞🏻🐞🍀

How os everyone feeling today? My symptoms have subsided quite a lot. Nausea is almost completely gone, I only feel full every time I eat and that's about it.
