Hi @Warrier87 as walker said you may get more answers with a new thread. I also had endo surgery last year, my first ivf cycle failed in January (quality of embryos was terrible) but I had another cycle in July which was greatly improved! I can't say much about the follicle numbers as mine were ok but it could be that if this round doesn't work out for you then the next cycle they can switch up the protocol to try and improve things. Good luck 🍀

wtawtaw · 22/08/2023 10:48

@Charming81 bless you, it's all so consuming isn't it! Great that you seen a heartbeat, did the clinic give you any reason to worry? How far along are you now and when is your next scan?

IVFfirsttimer91 · 22/08/2023 11:24

Hi ladies!

@Walker12 so great to hear that your scan went well! Really happy for you!

@SH998 I hope your scan went well as well lovely!

@Warrier87 hello!! And welcome :), my experience was a bit different from yours, as they underestimated how many eggs I would have so put me on quite a high dose of meds and I ended up with 32eggs, OHSS and having to delay transfer and have a FET instead of fresh. The first transfer didn’t go as planned, but the second one has so far (touch wood). I wish you all the best in your journey :).

@Charming81 welcome back!! I do remember you, congratulations on your scan and seeing the heartbeat lovely. We were discussing this the other day I think, that the worry between scans doesn’t seem to get any easier 😂. I had a scan last Friday at 9+2 and I’m already convinced that it’s all gone wrong since then (absolutely no reason to think this) and wondering how I’m going to wait another 20 days for my 12 week scan.

General update from me is that the nausea seems to have subsided significantly, and my boobs are now itchy rather than sore; but the soreness does come and go. I think the lack of nausea and the fact that my boobs aren’t as sore are freaking me out a bit at this point!

Hope everyone is ok!

wtawtaw · 22/08/2023 11:42

@IVFfirsttimer91 did I read right that you got told your placenta has now taken over? If so, I have read that when the placenta does take over, the hormone production changes which makes the first trimester symptoms fade! Hopefully that's the case for you.

I've got my first booking appointment at 5:30, is it weird that I'm excited for it? 👀 I haven't had a scan in two weeks so I hope all is ok in there, my next one isn't until the 31/08 🫣

SH998 · 22/08/2023 12:05

I've now officially graduated from my IVF clinic :)

Thanks for the well wishes ladies, all was perfect. Measuring as it should be with a strong little heartbeat. I'm now going to try to relax and enjoy it a little.

Its such an overwhelming experience, I was crying in the waiting room and didn't stop until she said 'congratulations both'. It was amazing to see, the little heartbeat was going like the clappers :)

@Walker12 so glad to hear your little bean is safe and well :)

Hope everyone else is OK.

IVFfirsttimer91 · 22/08/2023 12:11

@wtawtaw yes at my last scan we could see the placenta and the umbilical cord so it’s just an irrational worry at this stage that my symptoms are going. And yay for booking appointment! You’ll get the fancy purple folder!

I have to wait until 11/9 for my next scan, I’ll be nearly 13 weeks by then!

@SH998 woo hoooo!!! Congratulations!! You must be so happy!! Have your clinic officially discharged you then? Mine won’t until I send them a picture of the 12 week scan.

Olivia199 · 22/08/2023 12:14

Such wonderful news from you both re scans!! So pleased for you!!

Yeah I've been told that once the placenta takes over the symptoms can fade and change too. I'm currently holding onto that for dear life. 😂

Feel absolutely awful to have to do it but I've used the sick note the GP gave me and gone off work. I kept working when she initially signed me off but the sickness is unreal and it wasn't safe for my patients or myself.

Laying very still at home it helps, much less sick.

However my poor DD has had diarrhea for two weeks now and the GP wants a stool sample. That is absolutely not helping my current situation. Solo mother life...!

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 22/08/2023 12:37

@Olivia199 Oh man! Collecting a stool sample is definitely NOT what you need when you feel sick!!! Good luck...

@Walker12 & @SH998 Im glad both your scans went well!

@Charming81 welcome back!!! And the worry is real!!! I had a scan on Thursday, and everything was fine, strong heartbeat, good size, etc, and Ive since convinced myself it has all gone downhill. I have another scan next thursday, also at the clinic, and am hanging on to that for dear life!

@wtawtaw my next scan is also on the 31st!! Ill be 8+6 then!!

Unsure if Ill be discharged from the clinic at that point. I was only expecting ONE scan, not two, but Im not gonna argue with that! It does sometimes makes me wonder if they booked the extra scan because something was not quite right, but the doctor was so reassuring, saying it all looked absolutely fine and nothing to worry about... I guess Ill find out at the next scan. Ill have my doctor back, as well (she was away for both the transfer and the 1st scan!)

My boobs are now officially sore and Im not a fan. My lack of appetite has improved, though, and there are more things I can face eating now.
Still, Ive lost about 2kg in the past week!

SH998 · 22/08/2023 12:43

@IVFfirsttimer91 thanks so much, I'm over the moon today :)

They have signed me off as of today. They have said they are still available if I have any questions. I'm to get in touch when the baby is born as they require a form completed, something to do with their authority records or something like that.

Try not to freak out about symptoms coming and going, I have exactly the same issue. Some days I don't feel great then other days I don't feel pregnant at all. Apparently the further along you get the more the symptoms can subside.

Charming81 · 22/08/2023 12:43

@Walker12 my next scan in on Sunday. 5 more days to go 💪🏻🥴

@wtawtaw the clinic said all was going well and how it should be, it is just me. Today I don't feel nauseous at all and this freaks me out because it is still too early for symptoms to fade. Today I am 7w4d (if my little duck is still there).

@IVFfirsttimer91 well, so I am not the only one 😂 But I think that at 10 weeks it is normal for symptoms to fade. I think we will never sto worrying anyway 🙈 I am fine amd happy just for the time a scan 😂

@SH998 congratulations! That must be a nice feeling and makes things even more real 😍

@Olivia199 so sorry for your daughter. It must be really hard to be a solo parent and I really wish you to stop being nauseous soon. Even though, for me, the lack of nausea is the worst trigger for bad thoughts 😂

Olivia199 · 22/08/2023 12:49

@Charming81 - Honestly I totally get it and I am an absolute wreck with fear at the moment!!
I would be less worried if the sickness subsided as I could blame it on the two different antisickness tablets. 😂

My poor boobs get prodded regularly to make sure they're still sore.

Thanks everyone ☺️

Great news @SH998, so glad it's been a happy day for us both! We have also been discharged from the clinic which is a bit scary but exciting too. I have finally registered with the midwife team as I had been putting that off until the scan!

@Olivia199 being off work sounds like absolutely the right thing for you at the moment, please don't feel guilty about that. And good luck with the poo collecting...

Olivia199 · 22/08/2023 13:00

@Walker12 - Thank you, I haaaaate being off sick but it's horrific and ultimately I'm useless anyway. Spending half the day in the toilet and the other half legging it! (Also all our doors are coded which creates a lot of anxiety about making it in time...!)

I've got the nappy. It's in the kitchen. I'm currently in the livingroom just absolutely not okay about what comes next.

Considering I'm a health care professional - this sort of thing doesn't even come on my radar as things to be bothered about. But maaaan, I've thrown up twice just thinking about it. 😂

Raising a toddler while having hyperemesis is no joke!

Congrats @SH998 wonderful news!! 💛

@ASGIRC scan buddies! I'm 8+6 today so I'll be 10+1 on the scan. Got to try and contain my emotions this time!! What time is your scan?

@Olivia199 I know what you mean about boob prodding, I just go upstairs so I can come back downstairs to make sure my boobs still hurt 🤣 the things we do!! Although mine are usually just worse at night when turning in bed!

Olivia199 · 22/08/2023 13:07

@wtawtaw - Yep, any movement and it's clear as day they're still very sore. 😂

I keep doing that as well! 😂 I think they hurt because I keep squeezing them 😂

ASGIRC · 22/08/2023 13:30

@Charming81 were the same time! Im also 7+4 today! My next scan I will be 8+6.

@wtawtaw at 4.30pm. Im working that day, so asked for it to be after my shift. I 100% do not want to tell anyone at work yet, so have been booking all my appointments around my shifts (and requesting certain days off/specific schedules, to fit around the appointments)

My boobs also only hurt when prodded or when I move. As I turned in bed, this morning, the painw as definitely there. It wasnt, like, 3 days ago!!! And I was happy about that!

SH998 · 22/08/2023 13:45

@Walker12 I've literally just done the same, I didn't want to tempt fate by involving midwives before this scan. Its all feeling more real now :)

Charming81 · 22/08/2023 14:19

@ASGIRC my next scan will be 8+2

@SH998 same for me! I will wait for my next scan. If it will go well (I hope) I will call the midwife, I will be 8+3, I don't think it is late. Even because usually the midwife is the very first appointment for most women, but we had already so many scans and checks.

ASGIRC · 22/08/2023 14:29

@Charming81 is that a clinic scan, or private?

Charming81 · 22/08/2023 15:01

@ASGIRC my clinic is in Spain so I am all doing them privately. The second one I had it with my private gynecologist who is great. I wanted to do the next one with him as well, but it would have been at 9 weeks and the clinic in Spain told me they want a scan at 8 weeks (I am not sure what a difference a week can make), so I will go to this private clinic again.

I mean, they are good, it is Window to the womb, but my impression is that they mostly deal with happy couples who get pregnant and want to have a scan and are all happy and positive and relaxed 😂 My gynecologist is a fertility specialist who works for fertility clinics so his scan was amazing. He explained us every single thing he saw in details. At the clinic they just said, here is the baby and the heartbeat, congratulations 😂

ASGIRC · 22/08/2023 15:04

I feel really bad, but Ive had to tell my mom off... Shes going crazy with excitment and telling people... And while I expected her to tell her best friends, and pretend she hadnt (weve all done that!!!!), shes now told them its ok that I know they know... When I obviously expected them to be told, by me, and feign surprise!!!!

And today, another family friend (not a best friend, but close) also messaged me congratulations...

I will tell all these people! And Im glad theyre happy. But this is my news to share. On my time!

But it also feels like Im kickin the puppy! 😂

I will tell my mum only after 12 weeks if the NIPT test will be negative! Same for my parents in law. Plus, the rest of the family (relatives) can only know after the 20 week scan! So she will better be totally quite 🙄

I don't deal very well with excitement because I am very cautious and superstitious. It is not time to celebrate yet and all that happiness just irritates me 😂

We have only told to our close friends who we see constantly because they knew about the ivf

SH998 · 22/08/2023 15:13

@Charming81 im 8+3 today so no it’s not to late to get in touch with them then. The automated reply said I should from someone within 2 weeks so hoping to get booked in for my 12 week scan asap.

ASGIRC · 22/08/2023 15:15

@Charming81 Ive told most of my family, now.
And some friends.
Not drinking, for me, is a MASSIVE dead giveaway, so couldnt really hide it.
I will tell more people after the 9 week scan, including my lodger, who I should have told sooner, but this is not a "tell and run" situation, and we havent had a chance to hang out properly yet.

Everyone and their dog knows I was doing a fertility treatment. Ive been talking about it for literal years. So I have avoided texting loads of friends, as their first question these days is if there are any news, and I dont want to lie.

Holding off until 12 weeks was never going to happen for me, at least for the people I actually talk to on a regular basis.
Still indecided of when Ill announce to the world in general, on social media. Not before 12, maybe even 20... It will depend on when I tell work (I have loads of work people on FB)
