@Sangels267 i have actively avoided all baby clothes places until today, where I just couldn’t help myself lol! The temptation is real

@IVFfirsttimer91 to be fair I'm avoiding it too! Not long and we will all be buying outfits and all things baby related 😉

@Sangels267 i have to admit, when I was buying it i felt like I was doing something ‘naughty’ and like a bit of an imposter. I think when I have a little bump (that isn’t bloat 😭) I’ll feel less guilty and more comfortable buying things. But it was too cute not to buy, and things in TK Max never hung about for long!

@IVFfirsttimer91 I imagine the feeling but you are in your right to buy things! You waited a long time for this moment 💕 True, things in TK Maxx just fly

The racoon is freaking adorable @IVFfirsttimer91. And you're right about the chance of any MC happening now is much lower.
Honestly I can't talk, I had a whole nursery set up before I conceived (admittedly because I took on care for a baby at the time and also set it up for my niece). But I'm glad I did as I got some absolutely bargains. Including a brand new cot and mattress for £20. Then I could just enjoy buying the fun stuff that doesn't break the bank when I was pregnant. Admittedly I had so much stuff before and then panicked when I got pregnant and didn't buy anything else until well into second tri.
Felt amazing when I could start adding little baby grows and nappies etc into my weekly shop.

OMG @IVFfirsttimer91 and @Olivia199 those outfits are just tooo cute!!!!

I havent bought anything yet, and I dont think I will until 12 weeks. Maybe even later!

Ive also realised that I dont need to have a nursery ready before the baby comes! So Im not gonna stress with that! Though there are a couple of things I want to get.

Havent even really planned where Im gonna put my watch collection, that currently resides in what will be the nursery!

I absolutely love the baby outfits, so cute. I’ve been well behaved and have only bought 1 thing so far, I couldn’t resist 🥰

I'm having a bit of a wobble today...
In a whatsapp group I'm part of, one of the girls had an ultrasound at 7 weeks, saw a good heartbeat, told everyone, and that same day went to the hospital with what she thought was a UTI and she'd lost the baby (no heartbeat).
And now I'm convinced I'm gonna lose the baby... Even though I know it is unlikely.
I even feel like maybe my food aversion isn't as bad today (an actual blessing!) and maybe that means bad things.

I need you to talk sense into me.

@ASGIRC thats horrible I’m so sorry for your friend. I guess at that stage it must have been a chromosomal thing?

You just have to remember that as sad and horrible as it is for her, it 100% does not mean that that will happen to you. Maybe you can book a private scan for some reassurance for yourself xx

@IVFfirsttimer91 you can't really get private scans for no reason, here. You need a doctor's prescription for it.
And I have a scan in less than 2 weeks!
I'm just being ridiculous.

I'll still tell the family tomorrow, but also underline that things might still go wrong and that nothing is guaranteed.
Cause I think that will make me feel better as well.

@ASGIRC you aren’t being ridiculous. I think that would really knock me too if someone I knew had that happen.

At least it’s only 2 weeks to go until you get some reassurance! It’s a shame they don’t have any private places to scan like they do here though!

@IVFfirsttimer91 private places exist... But they don't just do the scan, they need a doctors note for it.
On the other hand, here it's really easy and cheap to do a beta! For 20 euros, you can get one done, with same day results!

Yeah, it shook me. But there's no reason to think it will happen to me as well. So I just need to hold strong for 1.5 weeks!!

You can hold strong :), and you’re right there is no reason to think it would happen to you, especially if you aren’t having any really negative symptoms :) everything will all turn out fine lovely

Also, it cracks me up that the pic of your baby outfit comes up as "sensitive content" and you have to click on it for it to show!! I dont know what triggered it. Maybe the raccoon??? LOL

I sent my dad a text inviting him to dinner at my moms tomorrow. My mom had mentioned that maybe I should tell him before hand, as he might feel a bit slighted, finding out with the aunts and uncles. So when he asked what the celebration was, I sent him a photo of my scan, along with "congratulations!"

I dont think he understood what I was showing him. Its been nearly an hour, hes seen it, but hasnt replied at all, not even to ask what that is! 😂

@ASGIRC 😂😂😂😂 bless him dads are so funny! Maybe he needs a bit of extra info 😂 when I sent my family the picture of my latest scan my dad sent a kissy face 😂 first time I have EVER seen him use an emoji. The pic was super cute though, so I can totally understand the reaction (not biased at all). I think I accidentally clicked the sensitive image button when trying to post🙃 I was being impatient and it wasn’t loading fast enough so I just started pressing my screen 😂

@IVFfirsttimer91 hahah definitely! But he usually would inquire. Even call me straight away, asking what I meant! But nothing... complete silence! Its very bizarre! but my dad can be a bit of a weird one! I would also be a bit freaked if he sent me a kissy face! 😂

I dont think my ever ever really thought hed be a grandad. With his illness, and family history, he always thought he wouldnt make it past 60 (he turns 75 in a month!), and then obviously, both me and my brother are 40 and single! My brother got a puppy earlier this year (my dad LOVES her!), and while he knows about my plans, I dont think he actually realised it might actually happen.

I think I might text him again asking if he has nothing to say! 😂
Its like my mom with the pic of the cheap pregnancy tests! Also nothing until I texted again going "nothing?!" And then she asked me to explain!😂

@ASGIRC haha yes definitely send him a follow up text then 😂😂. And that’s brilliant that he is nearly 75 when he wasn’t expecting to be here 15 years ago! I bet when he realises what that picture is he will be very excited!

What kind of puppy did your brother get? I’m a sucker for baby animals 😂 and nosy.

@IVFfirsttimer91 shes a black cocker spaniel! 7 Months now, so all grown up (kinda! but definitely not the terror she was when she was 3 months old!)

As for excited... Yeah, maybe! He hates small babies, cause they only poop and sleep 😂But Im sure hell be more interested once the baby is interacting a bit more 😂He wont be able to look after the baby, or even help, due to his mobility, but Im sure he will warm up to the little bit!
My mom is excited enough for everyone. 😂

@ASGIRC he may hate other peoples small babies, but he might not hate his first grandchild!! And I’m really glad that your mum is excited enough for everyone! It makes a difference for sure. Mine have only just started to get excited because obviously last time it all went wrong, but things are on the right track so I can feel excitement building.

I love cocker spaniels but oh my god do they have energy. I’d not be able to cope 😂

Ive had to tell my mom to curb her enthusiasm, as we dont know, just yet, that everything is fine, although it seems to be. Im sure that as soon as I give her the go-ahead, shell be buying little outfits like no ones business!
She got me a very expensive perfume coffret (you know, the ones that come with body lotion and shower gel) for no reason, the other day, and I have zero doubts it was a "congrats on your pregnancy, I wanted to buy all the baby clothes, but I understand I cant just yet" present! 😂

OMG she was a nightmare when she had to stay at home before her jabs were completed (which, for some reason, only happened at 4 months, my brother was going INSANE). But shes now in doggy daycare 4 days a week, which she absolutely loves, and it means she can burn all that energy all day! Then on weekends and the 1 day per week, she goes on long walks with my brother or my mom (who looks after her on that weekday - at her request!)

@ASGIRC that is so lovely!!! My mum is planning an Oxford street John Lewis shop after 12 weeks. Which although is very kind, I’m unsure as to whether Oxford street is where I wanna go to buy a cot 😂. I would like some new perfume though!!

She sounds like a lovely - and very loved pup! I’m sure she is gorgeous. My old dog would love to be out of the house for 4 days on the trot but he just can’t cope any more 😢
