FET/IVF/ICSI July 2023

Hello!

Just wanted to start a thread and see if anyone was going ahead with a transfer in July.

I've just had my nurse consult and hoping to have my second FET in July (my first was successful in Jan 2021 and I had my wonderful DD).

The first time around I was of course beyond nervous, excited, terrified it wouldn't work etc. This time it feels like that's doubled! I'm a private patient so I've saved everything for this but should it fail, it'll be a long long time before I could afford to try again.

To add some nerves, I'd need to be cycle day one no later than the 6th July to go ahead, as my clinic is moving locations. I'm currently due on the 5th...! So every chance it's moved to a Sept cycle.

Would be nice to have some company!

:)

@10degreessunny That sounds really rough! I would definitely be talking to the clinic about it, as it doesnt sound normal at all.

Also on pessaries only (But on a super duper dose of SIX per day), so have no side effects...

Lauralozzle · 25/07/2023 13:13

@Olivia199 I definitely see it!

@TTCbabyno2in2022 Looks like a positive to me, I had s stark white on one like that last ivf cycle. Did you have HCG trigger? They can stick around a bit so I’d test again in a few days to check. When is your OTD? If you didn’t have HCG trigger it looks promising.

ASGIRC · 25/07/2023 13:14

@Olivia199 Ive still not told a single soul!
I told one of my best friends about the transfer, as she asked me point blank and I couldnt lie, but have purposefully not texted anyone, just so they dont ask me

Also, I kinda want to tell my mom first? Since I never told her about the transfer...

And I might wait until i get some better lines on the test!

loulamay · 25/07/2023 13:30

oooh all these lines! congrats everyone!

@ASGIRC I think the First response ones are well-liked, but not sure if you can get them there.

@Lauralozzle so pleased it was an improvement from last time!

I had my lining scan - I'm on day 13 and it was only measuring 5mm so now I'm feeling super deflated and worried that if it doesn't thicken then this whole trip will have been for nothing. Not helping that I didn't get much sleep on the flight over and am missing my husband and daughter like crazy.

Dr wants me to carry on with the Estrodial and go back for another scan in three days.

Ugh. I hate all of this.

ASGIRC · 25/07/2023 13:41

@loulamay how was the trip? How long are you staying there?

Fingers crossed your lining thickens soon!!!

loulamay · 25/07/2023 13:42

I'm here until a week on Friday! Just hoping things progress in time so I don't have to change my flights! So now transfer looks like it's been pushed out to 3rd August.

On the plus side it's summer here than the Lakes!

loulamay · 25/07/2023 13:46

*sunnier!

Lauralozzle · 25/07/2023 13:47

@loulamay Fingers crossed your lining gets there!!

ASGIRC · 25/07/2023 13:53

@loulamay fingers crossed thats enough time!!

Hahah yeah, the UK has had some miserable weather this summer!!!! I keep seeing my friends complaining about rain and having to put the heating on!!

Summer in Portugal isnt amazing this year, either. Its really windy, and not very hot, so while it is pleasant enough to be outside, its not exactly great beach weather

10degreessunny · 25/07/2023 14:02

Hi all, thanks so much for your messages of support it's really interesting to see how we all have such different protocols with progesterone. I will speak to the clinic to get their advice and see how needed this lubion is...I really do think this phase is for sure the worst so far haha.

@loulamay really frustrating about your lining, keep going with it as it is close! Would recommend pomegranate juice and yoga that's been contributing to some success for me.

Really good to see so many positives from people, keeps you going through all of this!

Xx

TTCbabyno2in2022 · 25/07/2023 14:21

Thanks just don’t want to get my hopes up! These were the tests used when I was pregnant with my son so fingers crossed!

very exciting for everyone with these lines! Fingers crossed for everyone else with their treatments.

I had the trigger but 14 days ago so should be out by now I’ve read?? Will leave it now for a few days and test again!

Olivia199 · 25/07/2023 14:35

@ASGIRC - Horray!! I always used the first response early result as its the most sensitive. But can't find a single one anyway, including amazon. Do you have a boots? Their early result is what I've got a picture of and can't say it wasn't clear and early!

Oh @loulamay - I'm sorry for the stress. I've got everything crossed for your lining. They did say to me that if it wasn't ready they just give it a few more days and it's no drama. So hopefully yours will be full and happy soon enough.

@ASGIRC - I totally get wanting to do it in a certain order! My mum and brother knew so they've been told now. And then my best friend is an added layer of support now I've crossed the first hurdle. It's all so difficult to know!

I'll tell work pretty swiftly I think. Only my big boss. As there are some things I won't be able to do. Plus I always figure I'll need her in the know should the worst happen. Last time I had a big bleed at 7 weeks with right sided pain and they sent me to A&E to check for an ectopic. One of my thoughts at the time was that I was glad they knew so I could just tell them the deal, rather than have to reveal at the same time!

Everyone else can wait until 7 week scan!

Oh gosh, we've nearly filled the thread. I'll work on moving it across and trying to mention people. If I miss anyone, I'll try and put a link here!

ASGIRC · 25/07/2023 14:54

@Olivia199 Ha! Ill definitely will not be telling work in a hurry. Ive only just started there (2 months) and frankly... it is none of their business yet.

I can do my job as normal, it is pretty sedentary anyway. So they can know when I know everything is going well and is fine (definitely AFTER the 12 weeks... maybe even after the 20 weeks, but that will also depend on whether Im really showing or not!)

No Boots here (And I LONG for one! And a Superdrug... We have no shops of the type here... and the supermarkets dont have anywhere near the selection youd have at Boots or Superdrug, even in terms of hair products or makeup!). And we basically only get Clear Blue tests. And we do have the full range... From the one that can detect from 6 days before your period, both digital and dye, to the one that says how many weeks pregnant you are...
There are some own brand ones, but no idea how sensitive they are.

I think this is the link to the new one. But who knows!!

@ASGIRC - Oh gosh that's so annoying! I'd stick with CB then. Or Internet cheapies!
