Hello!

Just wanted to start a thread and see if anyone was going ahead with a transfer in July.

I've just had my nurse consult and hoping to have my second FET in July (my first was successful in Jan 2021 and I had my wonderful DD).

The first time around I was of course beyond nervous, excited, terrified it wouldn't work etc. This time it feels like that's doubled! I'm a private patient so I've saved everything for this but should it fail, it'll be a long long time before I could afford to try again.

To add some nerves, I'd need to be cycle day one no later than the 6th July to go ahead, as my clinic is moving locations. I'm currently due on the 5th...! So every chance it's moved to a Sept cycle.

Would be nice to have some company!

:)

@Maybemumma yes I completely agree, im finding myself over analysing every cramp or twinge or whatever, but I’ve got 2 weeks to go until my scan, so I’m just going to have to wait (or get another hcg test done, just to check on things). I think it will be easier to relax after the scan, as we will either see our baby, or we won’t, and then can just go from there.

Congratulations on your tests!! And I will keep fingers crossed that your clinic will offer you a beta hcg. Otherwise I’m sure there are private places around that will. I think the drs lab on wimpole st might do them.

Lauralozzle · 24/07/2023 16:02

@loulamay You’re dog is beautiful! It’s sounds like you’ve had a right faff getting to South Africa!

Re meds, clinic sorted out meds as soon as I had paid

@TheBirdintheCave I hope this rollercoaster settles down for you soon. I’m sure once you have closure either way you can then focus on moving forward.

@Walker12 I hope you’re feeling a bit better soon.

@Caroline2023 it’s still early days yet, but fingers crossed your follicles catch up in your coming scans.

@ASGIRC Tentative congrats coming your way!

@Bristol1988 Yay for transfer! X2 Frosties is excellent and hopefully the others catch up!

@Maybemumma Those lines are very strong. I wouldn’t worry.

Thanks everyone. It didn’t seem to go too bad. I’m glad my little left ovary worked well enough for 8 eggs. I’m hoping 6-7 are mature. Bricking the call tomorrow though, after our crap fertilisation rates last time.

I can definitely remember more of the procedure this time, and it hurt towards the end, guess the drugs were wearing off at that point.

I’m resting up now. DH has made me buttery toast and I had a nap when I got home. Bit crampy now though. Still feel a bit out of it to be honest!

Walker12 · 24/07/2023 16:02

@Lauralozzle so glad your egg collection went well, fingers crossed for good fertilisation!

Really excited for those getting early positives!! I am going to try my best to hold off testing until at least a week post transfer as I know once I start I will get obsessed.

Those lines look equally amazingly strong to me @Maybemumma, congrats!

Forgot to say we had a call earlier to say a sneaky extra blastocyst has made it so thats 4 in the freezer which we are thrilled about.

I am feeling lots better than earlier, just at mild hangover level now I would say, like from half a bottle of wine rather than 10 margaritas which is how I felt earlier 😂 (no change to the bloat- but managed to find 1 pair of actual non stretchy trousers that will sort of button up!)

ASGIRC · 24/07/2023 16:02

@Maybemumma I dont think the lines can actually get any stronger than that strong!!! These tests are not numerical like the betas! They have a limit! At one point it is literally just "computer says yes".
Does you clinic do a beta??

I did test again before coming to work and couldnt see a line... so now thats me until tomorrow with FMU. If it is positive, there will be a line as well.

TheBirdintheCave · 24/07/2023 16:05

@ASGIRC Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

@Walker12 Congrats on your sneaky extra blastocyst!

ASGIRC · 24/07/2023 16:09

@Walker12 Yay for extra blast!!! More chances (though obviously, this one will work!!!!!! )

Maybemumma · 24/07/2023 16:14

thank you everyone. Sorry if it seems a stupid question as i know we’re so lucky to have a line at all. Just after our missed miscarriage last time my anxiety has anxiety!

Overunder123 · 24/07/2023 16:15

Can I join in? I'm a bit late to the party though. Had egg collection on Saturday and got 10 eggs. 6 were mature and 5 of those fertilised. Day 2 call today and all 5 still going so far. They may call to transfer tomorrow, or wait until day 5 or 6 (or even do a split transfer). They're going to see how they go.
This is my second cycle. I had 2 5 day blasts transferred in April but neither implanted. I'm older (41) so could be egg quality issue. But I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for this round for now.

loulamay · 24/07/2023 16:54

I GOT THE DRUGS! hahahaha

TheBirdintheCave · 24/07/2023 16:57

@loulamay Woohoo! That sounded like an ordeal!

loulamay · 24/07/2023 17:02

Also made it to the airport after shoving the new prescription in the stupid face of the pharmacist and have just paid £11 for a glass of wine 😂🍷

orchid29 · 24/07/2023 17:07

Can i ask how long people had cramps for? I’m still feeling quite a few cramps and it’s now 7dp5dt - so implantation should be done, or am i wrong?

orchid29 · 24/07/2023 17:07

@loulamay a well deserved glass of wine!

@orchid29 I had cramps on and off since the day after transfer, I'm 14dp5dt now and still getting cramps on and off, keep thinking AF is coming, hope it stays away!! Weirdly the cramps are mainly after going for a wee though 🤔 but not always!

Welcome @Overunder123 and of course!! Good luck for your phone call tomorrow 🤞🏻 keep us updated 🙂 did you have two good quality blasts transferred last time or were they lower quality?

Hi everyone! I’m hoping for a bit of reassurance.

My history: had 4 rounds of ivf. 3rd we found out at 10 weeks that I’d had a missed miscarriage.

Today I am now 9dp5dt and we’re getting strong bfp lines but to me, todays line doesn’t look any stronger than yesterday. What do you think? Should I worry?

Also wondering if it’s possible to request repeated hcg tests from my doctor to try and calm my (off the scale) anxiety.

thank you 😊

@Maybemumma that's such a strong line! I definitely wouldn't worry about any of those, they probably can't get any darker! Congratulations 😁

@IVFfirsttimer91 how many days are you along now? I too am analysing everything, I have 2 weeks on Thursday until my scan, I'm thinking of taking another test but I don't want to obsess about lines just incase it's not as dark as my one before. Have you tested again since bfp?

wtawtaw · 24/07/2023 17:35

Lauralozzle · 24/07/2023 14:18

I’ll catch up properly later. Back from egg collection, they got 8 eggs in total.

That’s exactly the same as last time. All from left ovary.

Now here’s hoping the proxeed we’ve been taking, the AOA and the zymot has worked and we get more than 2 fertilised eggs!

@Lauralozzle yay! Glad it went well, hope you get a positive phone call tomorrow! 🤞🏻

IVFfirsttimer91 · 24/07/2023 17:38

@wtawtaw im now 21 days post transfer so nearly 6 weeks :) which is exciting. I did a second test a couple of days ago to keep as the first one I did was a clear blue digital, and my line was strong so I’m happy about it. I’m just considering doing another one at the end of the week to keep track, as that’s how we realised last time something was wrong as my line was lighter than it should be.

loulamay · 24/07/2023 17:41

@orchid29 i had cramps for three weeks after transfer and was told it was early round ligament pain. I think it’s totally normal :-)

@IVFfirsttimer91 great news! Did you test the second time with more a less sensitive test?

IVFfirsttimer91 · 24/07/2023 17:59

@wtawtaw Yeah second time round I used a cheap one which was good!! So I’m really happy with it :)

Enjoy that wine!!!!! You deserve it!!
And safe travels!!!

@orchid29 cant really help with the cramps, as Ive had exactly zero cramps since transfer.
I havent had cramps before AF for a few cycles now, either... Somehow my period changed last year, while on the pill. Zero symptoms (YAY) and starting with brown blood for 2 days, before red blood and clots. Thought that might change once I stopped the pill, but not, its exactly the same.
Love the zero symptoms, but not the old blood and the clots...

However, hopefully I wont have another for 9 months!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been reading up on evap lines like a crazy person...

ttcsolomumtobe · 24/07/2023 19:03

@Lauralozzle glad you got a good number at collection, I hope they all develop well for you

@loulamay the prepaid certificate only works for NHS prescriptions so private clinic ones cannot be claimed back. I imagine the people who get free rounds on NHS get their medication given to them by the hospital also or delivered. People who get private prescriptions can shop around. I think some of the bigger supermarkets such as Asda do them at a fair price in comparison to private pharmacies. Mine came got supplied by the clinic and included in the price of my treatment.

Curious question as people mentioning HCG test and the pregnancy tests. How many days after transfer would HCG usually start to be present in blood?

For anyone who has the positive outcome and had betas what was your number and how many days past transfer were you? And what day transfer was it?

ASGIRC · 24/07/2023 19:10

@ttcsolomumtobe according to science, there will be hCG after implantation, so after 5 days or so post transfer. Obviously this depends on several things, so its not clear cut that after 5 days you have it. But it is basically impossible to have it at, say 2 days post transfer, as thats when the embryo is starting to implant, so not producing any hCG yet!
