Hello!

Just wanted to start a thread and see if anyone was going ahead with a transfer in July.

I've just had my nurse consult and hoping to have my second FET in July (my first was successful in Jan 2021 and I had my wonderful DD).

The first time around I was of course beyond nervous, excited, terrified it wouldn't work etc. This time it feels like that's doubled! I'm a private patient so I've saved everything for this but should it fail, it'll be a long long time before I could afford to try again.

To add some nerves, I'd need to be cycle day one no later than the 6th July to go ahead, as my clinic is moving locations. I'm currently due on the 5th...! So every chance it's moved to a Sept cycle.

Would be nice to have some company!

:)

Hello - I have my FET transfer tomorrow - so far been on a combination of tablets and pessaries - apparently need to start warfarin tomorrow - is anyone else on this? Am dreading the injections to be honest as apparently they sting!

ttcsolomumtobe · 24/07/2023 19:44

@ASGIRC ohh yea I absolutely get that re it's not that early 😂 just curious as to when it could be tested from. Thinking I may just sit out the pregnancy tests and do a private beta closer to test time.

Feel like the tests are exciting but also the days of anxsty may not be worth the financial saving.

Started bleeding today, late afternoon so tomorrow is my day 1 and get to call the clinic to get things booked and moving! Yay!

ASGIRC · 24/07/2023 19:57

@ttcsolomumtobe does your clinic not offer betas?
And yay for AF finally arriving!!!

@Justalittlebitblondie Hi and welcome!!! Quite a few of us have had transfer recently!
Cant say I was put on any blood thinners... Only pessaries for me (bane of my life!!!) Why the blood thinners, do you know?

Justalittlebitblondie · 24/07/2023 20:02

I know - the pessaries - aren’t they awful! They kind of explained (something about blood flow??) but I didn’t really understand - I am really needle phobic so am dreading it tbh…

loulamay · 24/07/2023 20:16

@ttcsolomumtobe i found this website super useful for average beta numbers after transfer: http://www.betabase.info/chart/basic/single

with my daughter I had my first bloods taken on day 8 then day 10 and my numbers were 35 and 129 respectively. Think she implanted late!

@Justalittlebitblondie are they the pre-filled syringes that pop out? I was on Clexane for 16 weeks so if it’s the same kind of thing I can give you some tips!

ASGIRC · 24/07/2023 20:23

@Justalittlebitblondie oh no! Are they on regular needles or like the ovitrelle ones?
That was the only injection I had to have (apart from about a million blood draws), and found it surprisingly easy, as I didn't even feel the needle at all!
Do you have someone who could give them to you?

I can't stand the sour milk smell of the damn pessaries and the constant leakage!! I'm doing 6 a day (2 morning, afternoon and night) which seems very extra!! Why can't they be taken orally?!??

They are the exact same shape as my pregnancy supplement (with the folic acid and vit D and all that). Fortunately the supplement is brown in colour and the pessaries are white, otherwise, I might have taken them the wrong way around 😂😂

Justalittlebitblondie · 24/07/2023 20:23

Thank you so much for the info! I am picking them up on the way to the clinic tomorrow so should know better then (the chemist had to order them in…)

I am only on three a day and it is just not good - I know I shouldn’t complain but why can’t I just take a tablet!

ttcsolomumtobe · 24/07/2023 20:27

@loulamay thank you so much, will have a look at the link. May I ask what day embryo your Daughter was? Were you showing positive on any Home pregnancy tests then, if you happened to use them?

@ASGIRC my clinic don't do them as standard, think they would if you requested (with a charge) but probably won't do them till after OTD which for me is 16 days after transfer!
As I expected my period to arrive last week I booked extra days off work week commencing 21st to allow for testing and processing outcome. So thinking I could have betas done early that week for a super clear answer. I checked and there's a private blood clinic that test up to 3pm and text you the results at 8pm on evening for £75.

My period clearly messed up my planning 😂 so trying to just rethink what could be an option as don't think I can change my days booked off. my clinic don't do EC on a Tuesday or Thursday to avoid having transfers to do on a Sunday and likely won't do EC on a Sunday either so that narrows down the possible days, and unlikely to be before CD10.

loulamay · 24/07/2023 20:41

@ttcsolomumtobe she was either a day 5 or 6 if I remember rightly. I’m a chronic early tester so started testing 5dpt 🙄and got my first faint positive on day 6.

@Justalittlebitblondie if you’re taking what I think you are then my NUMBER ONE tip is to dry the needle before you insert it. Any little droplet on the end stings like hell. Icing makes no difference so my second tip is to avoid your tummy and rather grab some skin on the side of your waist or even top of your thigh. Doing it slowly hurts less too. Don’t rub the skin afterwards.

Thank you so much for the hint! I am really nervous about - my husband is away so he can’t do it - the nurse did mention aspirin tablets as an alternative but the doctor glossed over it…

IVFfirsttimer91 · 24/07/2023 20:59

@ttcsolomumtobe i had my first beta 14 days post transfer and my hcg was 1764. I had them re tested 16 days post transfer and it was 3663 :)

IVFfirsttimer91 · 24/07/2023 21:00

@ttcsolomumtobe and mine was a day 5 fet

Maggie564 · 25/07/2023 00:53

Hi all, I hope you don’t mind me jumping on the thread late. I had FET 18/07 I tested yesterday on 24/07 PM and had a faint line and retested this morning 25/07 AM and another faint line, are these just Evap lines? My anxiety is high and could use some reassurance. Top one is from this morning and bottom is yesterday PM.

SH998 · 25/07/2023 03:32

@Maggie564 they both look pretty positive to me, huge congratulations 😃

Maggie564 · 25/07/2023 06:36

I hope you’re right and thankyou! I just don’t want to get my hopes up, my beta test is Thursday so only 2 more days fingers crossed.

Olivia199 · 25/07/2023 06:42

Morning guys! Sorry I checked out there. @lauralozzle - this is amazing! Go little ovary go!

Congratulations to the positives above (and welcome!), both look great to me.

I got my very faint positive this morning, though yesterday I was fairly sure as I woke up with genuine superhuman smell. I had none of that with my daughter so it came as a bit of a shock!

Hope everyone's doing well. X

@Olivia199 Congratulations! :)

I hope everyone who got positives this cycle goes home with a baby. I'll be leaving you all now.

Thanks for the support! Xx

Olivia199 · 25/07/2023 06:58

@TheBirdintheCave - I'm so so sorry, this has been a cruel round for you. Will be thinking of you and hope you're home with a baby in your arms soon. You've got this. X

Hi everyone, i’ve been not properly celebrating as my lines are still really faint and don’t seem to be getting stronger (see below - and i know this is a less sensitive one but even with the sensitive ones it’s not much better). Worst of course is that it seems if at all to be getting worse.
So i decided to stop fussing and got myself a digital one - which said pregnant 1-2 weeks! So i’m just going to take that for now and wait for
my blood test - hopefully saturday!

orchid29 · 25/07/2023 07:57

(she says with conviction but probably going back to testing and obsessing over lines tomorrow!)

orchid29 · 25/07/2023 07:57

@Olivia199 congratulations! My wife also had the crazy sense of smell - and she has a heightened sense to start with so it was insane!

orchid29 · 25/07/2023 07:58

i can’t believe how well it has worked out for you so far @Olivia199 given how tight the timing was! Very happy for you.

Olivia199 · 25/07/2023 08:09

@orchid29 - The digital aren't very sensitive at all, so the fact you got a 1-2 weeks is amazing! Got everything crossed for you.

I'm very very lucky, this really has worked out perfectly so far. From my early period letting me go for July and my shifts falling on days off for scans and transfers. Let's hope this stays positive!

Morning all! I have a new worry this morning to add to the never ending list. Last night I felt a bit of cramping and took myself to bed. This morning around 6am I woke up with some fairly bad cramps (like you get when you have a bad tummy). When I wiped there was the smallest spec of red blood, it looked dried. The cramps have gone again now. Should I be worried?
