@Hopewishprayer thank you so much! It's so nice to be home ❤️ yeah the angle, the light, all of it's pretty embarrassing isn't it 😂 but i still find it amazing they can even do IVF so just have to try and think, they see this every day, multiple times haha x

@LF82 thank you ❤️ I really hope you have had a nice day, I know how hard the waiting and an extra day isn't what you need - but an extra day is sometimes all it takes for them to catch up. I have everything crossed for a good update tomorrow 🤞🏻

@countrypunk thank you 💕 How was your weekend? Xx

@Foreverhoping33 thank you ❤️ it still feels quite surreal! Ah amazing I am so so pleased for you! That's a great number! And potentially 3 more!! Although not the cycle you planned and hoped for, it's great that you've gotten so many embryos into the freezer ❄️ how was your trip to Newcastle?

Jx3303 · 10/04/2023 21:53

Oh yeah and meant to say I'm 100% not testing early. If I stayed in Manchester they'd have me in for bloods and I'd have the results same day. Or I could do a home test 2 days later. I'm going to book a private blood test up here on the test date they've given me, and likely get them next day. I think I prefer this to doing an at home test followed by bloods xx

countrypunk · 10/04/2023 22:25

@Jx3303 It's been really nice thank you. Hung out with friends on Saturday, one pair of which had multiple rounds of IVF and now have a beautiful baby. Gives me hope.

It's great that your clinic does bloods to test for pregnancy. I hope these two weeks zoom by for you. We'll be here if you have a difficult moment at any point ♥️

@Foreverhoping33 thats great news! And potentially more to develop by tomorrow 🤞🏻 You must feel you can breathe now! X

countrypunk · 10/04/2023 22:41

@Foreverhoping33 Argh missed your update. That's amazing! You must be thrilled ♥️

@countrypunk that sounds lovely! And how nice to be with friends who've had IVF success 💕 I hope they were able to offer support and advice, and I'm really glad to hear it has given you hope. That's what gets us through this isn't it.

Well they do - but due to us being back in Scotland, I'll pay to have them private locally (at the place I got my prolactin tested, nothing to do with the clinic just a private one up here) rather than us drive back down. But I really don't mind that. Thank you ❤️ I hope they go fast! It still feels very surreal and I can't quite believe we've finally had a transfer. I didn't cry when I was in there but I did when the embryologist updated us beforehand on our embryos xx

Crystal88 · 11/04/2023 08:46

@Jx3303 so glad it went well, take easy now for two weeks and hopefully 🤞 it will work xx

@Foreverhoping33 thats great news, I have faith it will all turn out good xx

@LF82 hope the call today goes well xx

@Hopewishprayer @countrypunk how are you both doing

managed to sort my other half out antibiotics and needs his tooth out next week. Question has I am looking at maybe EC end of May/ June does anyone know if antibiotics effect sperm, also has he has phobia dentists he needs to be sedated to have his tooth out will that affect it to xx

Crystal88 · 11/04/2023 08:49

Meant to say we are going down icsi route again so they will select the best anyway

life comes to test us xx

LF82 · 11/04/2023 11:19

None of the embryos survived…. I know you ladies all know this but ivf has got to be the most difficult journey in the world. Wishing everyone positivity for the next steps in your journeys x

Jx3303 · 11/04/2023 11:33

@LF82 I'm so sorry 😞 I'm beyond disappointed for you. It really is the most difficult journey, and it's so rubbish that we are all going through it. I am sending so much love. Let yourself feel however you feel, don't make yourself smile and get on until you feel ready to. Take the time to process. When I had my cancelled cycle I was reminded of the frozen embryos from before, so if you can, find a little comfort in them and knowing they are safe. It doesn't take away the pain, I know that, it's really hard when one cycle goes well and another goes badly. Sadly no two cycles seem to be the same. We're here for you ❤️

@Crystal88 oh your poor OH! I hope the antibiotics kick in quickly! I'm not sure if/what effects antibiotics could have, perhaps ask your clinic or the dentist? Toothache is the worst, I hope once it's out he's better 🤞🏻

LF82 · 11/04/2023 11:59

Thank you @Jx3303 I really appreciate the support and the lovely words. I think you are right - as my last cycle went reasonably well I had good hopes for this one. It’s just so hard. The embryologist said they would be discussing my case at some session and then would come back if they think we should change anything before the next session. Going to ask if I can speak to one of the doctors I think x

Crystal88 · 11/04/2023 12:22

@LF82 im so sorry for you, the hardest point of this journey is they will probably never know what caused it. We are here for you, if you need to talk xx

@Jx3303 i have my treatment call next week so i will ask them, hoping it wont affect it has i am desperate to start again xx

Foreverhoping33 · 11/04/2023 15:53

@LF82 Im sorry to hear that your embryos didnt make it! You are right, IVF really is the hardest journey, and these constant setbacks we all have to deal with are so tough to bare. Please be kind to yourself and give yourself lots of time to cry and be sad. Though as @Jx3303 has said try to hold on to the fact that you have embryos from your other cycle which are safe and waiting for you. sending you lots of love!! xxxxxx

LF82 · 11/04/2023 16:29

@Crystal88 @Foreverhoping33 thank you both so much, I think I just need a few days to process. I hate having no control over this whole situation x

Hopewishprayer · 12/04/2023 07:36

@LF82 sorry to hear your update, this journey really does test us, I understand the disappointment to go through so much and then no embryos - but hopefully the clinic can take any learnings and help for a more successful cycle next time. Glad that you have some embryos frozen from previous round. Give yourself all the time you need and look after yourself x

@Crystal88 re antibiotics, slightly different when I had to have antibiotics (it was 12 tablets per day! After wisdom tooth removal went wrong) the doctor said it wouldn’t impact my egg collection so hopefully same for men, maybe you could call your clinic to check instead of having to wait until next appointment? X

countrypunk · 12/04/2023 08:57

@LF82 I'm so sorry to read your update. I hope you're feeling a bit better this morning. We all understand the highs and horrible lows of IVF, and I think going through what we go through to get to our babies will mean that when we eventually do become parents, it will be all the sweeter. The friends I saw at the weekend had multiple rounds of IVF. At times it seemed like it was never going to happen for them but they persevered and now they have their baby. I know we can all relate to feeling like that. We'll get there! Sending you lots of love. Xx

@Crystal88 Hope your OH is OK, tooth pain is the worse. Xx

@Jx3303 How are you doing so far? Xx

Jx3303 · 12/04/2023 11:48

@LF82 I hope you are doing ok ❤️ yeah it's definitely a good idea to speak to a Dr, I had a call with the Dr after our cancelled cycle and after they had reviewed. Hopefully they can learn from this and advise going forward.

@countrypunk so happy for your friends, it's always so lovely to hear of success stories. Sometimes the journey is longer than we expect, harder than we'd hoped but we need to persevere and hope that we will all get there too 🙏🏻

I am doing ok thank you, how are you? I'm trying not to think about it and it actually all still feels very surreal. Looking into booking my hCG bloods up here rather than doing the at home pee test 2 days later - although it's harder than you'd think. Wish I was closer to the clinic, their bloods turnaround is so quick as I assume in house! I just feel like I'd rather do bloods and the clinic call and tell me then do an at home test and analyse it, even the thought of doing one panics me. But I may change my mind if the blood results would then pass the day of doing the at home test 😂🙈 will figure it out!

LF82 · 12/04/2023 12:13

Thanks ladies - your comments all mean so much. I am ok- just taking it a day at a time again. The clinic have already been in touch to arrange a consultation which I thought was good.

@Jx3303 i definitely think Create do their tests in house to get results as quickly as they do! I definitely agree I would prefer a blood test to the at home tests! X

countrypunk · 12/04/2023 12:32

@Jx3303 I'm not bad. Consultation is a week today! Keen to get going again and see what this new clinic have to offer us.

Tricky one on the testing. If you think home testing will stress you out more than bloods then bloods sounds like the way to go. I'm rooting for you like mad. Xx

OP posts:
countrypunk · 12/04/2023 12:33

@LF82 That is good - my clinic still haven't contacted me since the miscarriage! It's like they don't want our money!

OP posts:
LF82 · 12/04/2023 13:10

@countrypunk cant believe they haven’t been in touch after what you have gone through. Would definitely put me off them! Hoping your consultation with the new clinic goes well x

countrypunk · 12/04/2023 13:33

@LF82 I know, they're dicks. It's put me right off. When's your next consultation?

OP posts:
LF82 · 12/04/2023 13:38

@countrypunk not next week the week after. It’s with the lead consultant who saw us for our initial consultation so that’s good. No idea what to ask but I have a whole to work that out! X

Jx3303 · 12/04/2023 15:06

@LF82 that's great they've been in touch. Really glad it's not been a long wait. I really hope they can shed some light onto what they thought happened. Did they mention your lining during scan? They maybe didn't due to the freeze all but I'm sure they still checked it. Yeah their turnaround is so fast it's amazing! It's really sad we don't have any create clinics at all in Scotland as they just offer so much more. Even the private clinic in Glasgow, they'd have just done conventional IVF again, which clearly didn't work for me first two cycles.

@countrypunk I'm so sorry your clinic haven't contacted you - that's horrendous. I really hope you get a good feeling from your consultation at the new clinic ❤️

Yeah I just know some people have such a hard time with light lines, lines disappearing, negatives then positives etc I just don't want any of that. I'm already even avoiding looking at loo roll when I wipe as I know if I see anything I'll panic and google. So far I've managed to stay off google other than to check what to eat (since they say eat like you're pregnant) and to check if I could drink camomile tea. I was instantly freaked out with opposing articles so I'll still to water, a decaffe coffee and a tea a day - that's ok isn't it?!

Jx3303 · 12/04/2023 15:07

Sorry by me saying I don't want any of that re lines on tests, I mean the unknown and the comparing and guesswork. I'd rather (I hope) for a more definitive answer through bloods. Although of course I know even then, things can change xx
