baby shower was hard but I stayed to the end, it was for one of my longest friend sister baby shower. I hadn’t told my friend the ivf had failed didn’t want to
spoil today but as she know me for over 30 years she guessed and asked me how I was, that the worst questions for people to ask, I had to try real hard to fight back tears

but I did it, got through the afternoon and now I’m back home. OH has run me lovely bath and then will be pj on and Netflix I think

I believe in life things happen for reason, it’s not my time to be a mom yet. But hopefully one day it will be

my uncle past away in April and today my dad said I have been left 4k in his Will so hopefully that will pay for most of the next round and who knows, he might be there looking down at me and give me that miracle child.

until then it’s keeping my head up and looking forward to the good things in my life and spending time with family xx

@Crystal88 well done for getting through the baby shower - that will have been so tough, a bath & a relaxing night definitely sounds in order. As does a holiday before you start again on the ivf journey. Sending you lots of love & positivity x

@Crystal88 That sounds really hard 💜 you're a lovely friend for going and staying till the end.
That's a beautiful thought about your uncle.
What you say is so right - I think we can get so wrapped up in this journey that we can stop appreciating the here and now.

Still following this thread and routing for you all. So happy to read @countrypunk you got a BFP! Completely understand you must be feeling elated, scared, hopeful, anxious….. I found staying positive really helped me, I hope the new few weeks fly past until your scan and all goes well 💕

quick update following my scan - booked in for egg collection on Wednesday. 4/5 follicles - so hoping for quality over quantity x

@countrypunk that's brilliant news, congratulations on your positive! 🎉
I totally understand the wait for first scan feels so long and being on edge most of the time, especially after what happened previously.@Foreverhoping33's idea of waiting a bit longer is a good shout, I'd never thought of that before. One pregnancy doesn't predict another, a few of us here can prove that now so try to relax a little too ☺️.

@LF82 Also great news from you today too! Keep us updated for Wednesday, hopefully you'll get good quality eggs like you said 🤞☺️.

@Crystal88 I think that's very admirable of you attending the baby shower and putting your friend first, you're a good friend 😘. October isn't that long away it'll be hear before you know it. Hope your meetings up until then are productive but keep us updated. Yes for going on a holiday, do it!

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing ok.

My egg collection took place earlier - 4 eggs. Just now a waiting and hoping game over the next 5 days. So nervous re the first call tomorrow!

Thanks for giving us an update @LF82 . Glad it was a morning collection for you too and all follicles produced eggs to collect ☺️. Keep us updated love, we're all rooting for you and will be with you over the next 5 days! 🤞 Xx

@LF82 oh I’m sorry I forgot to wish you good luck! But glad to hear your egg collection went well! Fingers crossed all 4 get fertilised and make it to day 5!!! 🤞🤞🤞🤞

what is your next step now? Are you going to try and do a transfer or have a little break? I seem to remember you saying you may have to take some months out for a bit? Xxxx

@Foreverhoping33 I have to down reg for 3 months before they try a transfer due to the andenmyosis (not sure if that’s the right spelling 🙈) that they diagnosed on my cancelled cycle. They said whilst irs mild the down reg will make a better environment for a transfer. Apparently I have to have one injection a month plus a scan to check what’s happening. Have to wait for my next AF after my withdrawal bleed. Feels like it’s such a long process!
However so glad I went private and very fortunate - would you believe I had my nhs GP referral in November and I have only just had my appointment through for an initial consultation for the end of August! X

you never know we might be transfer buddies in October

I have feedback appointment due 1 august I’m hoping they have answers and will change the protocol I’m on has it doesn’t seem to be working for me

2 cycles and only one viable fertilised egg both time xx

@LF82 Great news! Really hope you get some positive updates over the next few days. Everything crossed. It's frustrating that you have to wait 3 months for a transfer but it sounds like your clinic are looking after you well and doing everything they can to ensure it's successful. Xx

@countrypunk that’s exciting news re booking your scan! Is it with your ivf clinic? I actually have no idea what happens after egg collection/embryo freezing as have never got past there. Is it too soon to be seeing your GP?

@LF82 Yes, with my IVF clinic. If all goes well they'll discharge me to my GP then. I think with an ordinary pregnancy you'd contact your GP as soon as you found out you were pregnant?

@countrypunk good news this morning- all 4 have fertilised 🙌 Next update on Saturday….was happy and am now already on my nervous phase 🤣

Hi all- my overthinking brain has a question. Has anyone frozen embryos at day 3? The reason I ask is my second round we got 4 eggs, all fertilised & all were looking good at day 3 so we moved them all to progress to day 5. In the end none made it to the freezer. With this being my 3rd cycle for hopefully banking some embryos for the freezer am wondering if at Day 3 this time all are good we should freeze one? So at least something is frozen? But no idea if there’s a point to that x

@LF82 I haven't done that but I have read about it, and I think usually clinics do it if the embryo is looking a bit dodgy at day 3. I think the reasoning is it's better to freeze at day 3 and then transfer to its natural habitat - your womb, where perhaps it would have a better chance - than risk it not making it to day 5. We were never given the option so I don't think all clinics offer it.

@countrypunk 🥹 absolutely delighted for you, cautious and caring congratulations. How are you feeling? It was so lovely to read your update.

@LF82 4 fertilised eggs is amazing! Really pleased for you! You've had a tough time these last few rounds so I am hoping with everything you get some great embryos. Our first cycle with create we froze 1 day 3 top grade embryo, my second cycle they left them both to day 3. I think the theory was that they froze it just in case as there was a smaller number to begin with. Have a chat with the embryologist tomorrow, the ones I have spoken to have always been happy to explain and discuss any questions or worries
I have had. I hope you're feeling ok after collection and have a nice weekend planned x

@Jx3303 Hope you had a fabulous time on holiday & was able to switch off and relax. Thank you - I will speak to the embryologist tomorrow & see what they say. Just Hoping they embryos make it to day 3 for now x
