@Crystal88 Thank you 🥰

@Crystal88 I know it's too early to think about this but just want to mention it while I think of it: I know a couple who did foster to adopt, and they now have 2 little boys. They're brothers and they adopted them together. They're very happy 💛

Crystal88 · 13/07/2023 08:56

@countrypunk thank you that helps a lot, I’ve been reading up on it and you can’t start adoption process until you stopped IVF, so if I do have another round I will have to wait, but might go to one of the open days to get more info to keep my options open and there is lots of children out there needing a home xx

countrypunk · 13/07/2023 09:09

@Crystal88 I think it's always good throughout this process to think about what you're going to do next if the current treatment doesn't work out - even if that means you're going to stop everything. There is so little control with IVF and a plan gives you a little back.
Xx

LF82 · 13/07/2023 09:39

@Crystal88 thinking of you…. Take time to process before making any decisions/plans. X

Foreverhoping33 · 13/07/2023 11:14

@Crystal88 I’m so sorry to hear about your negative test. Take some time for yourself to let it sink in and plan out your next steps. We are all here for you and I will be thinking about you lots. Send all my love. Xxxxx

Cat89 · 14/07/2023 08:24

@Crystal88 aw love. Sorry to see this cycle didn't work out 😔. I hope you're feeling ok, but totally understand if not. Sending you hugs xx.
I was the same and had carved out a path forward that I could follow. Everyone is different but it helped me know that whatever happens I'd end up with child however that was achieved, and reach my ultimate life goal ☺️. But you have another cycle to try, until then look after yourself, we're here for you xx

@countrypunk @LF82
Hope you're both doing ok. Not long until test day and looks like first scan has gone well!

LF82 · 14/07/2023 11:14

Thanks @Cat89

had second scan today… only 4 follicles seem to be growing the other 5 haven’t moved much. Am disappointed. I know I am doing mild ivf so won’t be getting big numbers but was just hopeful that this cycle would be a bit better than the last 2 disasters. My first cycle I had 8 eggs, 4 mature, 2 good enbroys and 1 ok one and was desperately hoping for similar. Feel like as I have less to start with it won’t go well. Need to snap myself out of this! Sorry for being depressing 🤣

hope everyone is ok xx

countrypunk · 14/07/2023 11:27

@LF82 You're not depressing at all!

Try and think quality over quantity. More eggs definitely doesn't necessarily mean more blastocysts.

Rooting for you here 🥚🥚🥚🥚

OP posts:
LF82 · 14/07/2023 12:10

@countrypunk thank you, I really all the support. In my head I know it’s quality over quantity but I think as the last 2 cycles were so disappointing I am worried. Hoping they don’t call me in for an extra scan tomorrow - hoping todays bloods will be ok!

Are you keeping yourself busy before Sunday test day? X

countrypunk · 14/07/2023 13:35

@LF82 Yeah I know. It's impossible not to worry. And I understand the disappointment when you're hoping for more. The others may yet catch up. The best thing you can do is try to hand the burden over to your doctor - that's what my doctor told me when I was getting stressed. It's completely out of your control now. Let them stress, not you!

Nope, I'm slumped on the sofa watching the tennis and incessantly googling 9dp5dt symptoms 😆 I've got a problem 🫣

OP posts:
LF82 · 14/07/2023 14:45

@countrypunk I like that way of thinking! Now to implement it haha! I know there’s nothing I can actually do. It’s just so hard!

oh tennis should keep you occupied at least! Though you might need to put google down haha 🤣

Foreverhoping33 · 14/07/2023 20:03

Ah @LF82 im sorry to hear you are a disappointed with your scan today. But definitely agree that quantity does not mean quality, so let’s hope those eggs you do have are the very best!! Do you know when egg collection will be?

@countrypunk you’re doing so well! Keep going till Sunday I’m keeping everything crossed for you. Xxxx

LF82 · 14/07/2023 21:30

Thanks @Foreverhoping33 I have everything crossed that from the 4 follicles we get 4 good eggs 🤞 My blood tests must have been ok as they haven’t asked me to come in tomorrow for an extra scan. My next scan is Monday and if that is ok, egg collection on Wednesday x

Cat89 · 14/07/2023 23:22

@LF82 what happened on your previous cycles if you don't mind reminding me?
I only had 3 fertilized eggs, I was slightly hysterical at that point and thought I was a gonner on my first attempt. Turned out despite all the odds I ended with 2 high grade embryos and a morula which we binned. The one that was transferred is now my 35 week baby, due in 4.5 weeks! If anyone can relate to feeling absolutely crap about numbers I'm definitely one 🙋‍♀️, but also here to show that it really does take only one embryo to work! Xx

LF82 · 15/07/2023 08:01

@Cat89 thank you- truly that really helps . Cycle 1 was good- 8 eggs, 4fertlised, 3 frozen (2 good quality, 1 average) Cycle 2 - 4 eggs all fertilised, looked good at day 3 but didn’t make it to day 5. Cycle 3 cancelled as the follicles had either grown too big or not enough. It’s the last 2 cycles that are causing me to panic!

Can’t believe you are due so soon! That has gone so quickly 🥰

Cat89 · 15/07/2023 15:42

@LF82 thanks for reminding me. What happened to the frozen ones from first cycle, did you try frozen transfers before Cycle 2 or are they in the freezer still?
Gosh, having no embryos from a cycle (let alone 2 cycles) after your first went really well must have been a shock and tough to process, sorry you've been through that 😔. Mine was a mild IVF cycle.. I kept comparing my numbers with others who had high doses and more eggs collected which in hindsight I shouldn't have done as it just caused me unnecessary stress and many tears, but I know it's so hard not to worry and tbh I'd probably be the same again!
Fingers crossed for a good scan on Monday and some good strong eggs to collect on Weds 🤞☺️ xx

Cat89 · 15/07/2023 15:47

@countrypunk how you feeling about test day tomorrow?! So so hoping you'll get a BFP 🤞 X

LF82 · 15/07/2023 16:10

@Cat89 I didn’t realise you were on mild too. So am I. I am doing a 3 cycle egg collection before a transfer. So the 3 embryos are sat in the freezer. Had another curve ball as they have now recommended 3 months of down reg before transfer (andenmyosis - another thing ivf has diagnosed!) I think all the set back & delays are just getting to me. Though feeling calmer today! Just going to try & relax and see what they say on Monday.

How are you @countrypunk I have everything crossed for you for tomorrow

Xx

countrypunk · 15/07/2023 16:22

Hello loves, I'm alright. I get butterflies thinking this time tomorrow, I'll know! 😵

@Cat89 I can't believe you're a month away from meeting your baby, that's crazy! You must be so, so excited ❤️

@LF82 I recommend getting into the tennis, it's been a good distraction!

@Foreverhoping33 Thank you xx

Will update you all tomoz obvs!

Morning everyone, test was positive.

Very happy but also apprehensive after last time.

I hope everyone else is OK. Lots of love.

OP posts:
Foreverhoping33 · 16/07/2023 09:45

@countrypunk oh yay!! That’s such great news congratulations!!! I totally understand the fear now but try and remain positive throughout. I found it helpful to push viability scan back as far as possible so there is no limbo land when you have it - dunno if you would find that helpful too.
sending soo many positive wishes your way and for now just enjoy your positive result!! Xxxxx

LF82 · 16/07/2023 09:51

@countrypunk congratulations! That’s such wonderful news! Completely understand why you are apprehensive but for now enjoy! Sending you all the positivity in the world x

countrypunk · 16/07/2023 10:01

@LF82 @Foreverhoping33 Thanks ladies xxx
That's a good idea about having the scan as late as possible. I've been having flashbacks this morning to the 3 weeks back and forth to the EPU.
But you're right, positivity is the way! Xx

OP posts:
Crystal88 · 16/07/2023 12:37

@countrypunk thats great news

I am so happy for you but I can understand your concerns

I have a lot of time to reflect and look forward, I have my appointment with the nurse on 1/8 to see what to try next time and then might book a cheeky week away and maybe start again in October it all depends on how my body recovers

I have a baby shower for one of my friends to go to today which I has taken me a big effort to get ready for and I’m not sure if it’s best idea to go but I want to try to get back to normal xx
