FET May 2023

Hi! I am scheduled for a FET in May and wondered if anybody might want to join who is in a similar position.

I had ICSI in 2020. A fresh transfer resulted in DD being born in 2021. We are doing a FET from an embryo we had of that round of ICSI.

Goodness me I feel sick AF on either the fyremadel or the elleste. Let's hope it's the fyremadel as I've only got 5 more of them to go!

Purtyburty · 09/05/2023 10:05

Just had my scan. Thickness is 8.3 so scan booked for Monday. I have a blood test on Saturday too. Hope everyone else is well.

@MaybeBabyTwo ahh thats so annoying. Hoping with you

@Purtyburty thats awesome news!

I woke up at 4 o’clock because of the pain from the Progesterone in Oil shots - gosh this process is so inhumane. Turning in bed is super painful 😢I tried heating/massaging but I think I’m super sensitive to the shots (also had a burning rash the first night) terrible thought you have to take these shots till 8 weeks if it takes 😱

NaomiNatNat · 10/05/2023 09:50

Just had my 2nd scan for lining thickness. It is now 12mm!

@Irisjj Can you take pills instead? That oil sounds dreadful xx

Irisjj · 10/05/2023 10:59

@Createmagik hope you have a sticky baby! How did your transfer go? 😘

@NaomiNatNat thats awesome!! No they won’t allow pills since your body doesn’t absorb them well. Called the clinic but hubby was not injecting in the right spot - we probably hit a nerve 🙈 yesterday was soo much better.. its just crazy they didn’t show us where to inject but just sent us home with a video…

Infertilitylife · 10/05/2023 11:03

@Createmagik Hope your transfer went well :) I have tested because I couldn't wait and I think I have a faint positive so will just see if they have progressed when I test again.

@Irisjj I have to start progesterone injections - do they hurt a lot??

@Purtyburty That thickness is great :) When are you hoping to transfer?

Irisjj · 10/05/2023 11:08

@Infertilitylife the shot itself is not bad at all! Its more the soreness afterwards. What helped me: heat the vial in your bra 30 min before the shot + your bump 15 min before. Lie down with the shot and focus on relaxing your muscle. Massage afterwards and heat again!

Just make sure to watch the videos online with explanation- we were injecting too low and that was super super painful the day after (not the shot itself). I don’t feel anything from the injection itself!

Good luck!! Hope your faint positive turns into a strong one!!

Infertilitylife · 10/05/2023 11:10

@Irisjj Thank you :) Will definitely take your advice.

Purtyburty · 10/05/2023 12:04

@Infertilitylife I am hoping to transfer on Monday so the 15th I think that is. I am nervous about the thaw though. That's great on your faint positive! Is this your first transfer?

@Irisjj I remember I got sent a link to a YouTube video 😬 was a bit tricky especially in the beginning when I was clueless! Hang in there xx

@Infertilitylife and @Createmagik good luck!! xx

Infertilitylife · 10/05/2023 20:02

@Purtyburty fingers crossed your transfer goes smoothly. This is my first cycle of ivf.

@NaomiNatNat thank you :)

Createmagik · 11/05/2023 12:36

Hello, you lovely people. My transfer on Tuesday went well, but have been feeling quite weak/dizzy the last couple of days. Fingers crossed for us all!

@Infertilitylife - I put all of my progesterone shots into my thigh and massage really well after administering. I find it is a bit sore, but I can live with this on my thighs rather than tummy.

@Purtyburty - only a few more days to go for your transfer - hope all goes well, good luck!

@Infertilitylife - hoping your faint positive is getting progressively darker!

Infertilitylife · 11/05/2023 13:05

@Createmagik Very exciting about your transfer. Please keep us updated.

I’ve uploaded my comparison photo. The top one is 5dp and the bottom is 6dp. Will take another this evening.

@Infertilitylife ohhhhh that is looking good. You must be sooo nervous at the moment - wishing you all the luck in the world x

Infertilitylife · 11/05/2023 14:16

@Infertilitylife Thanks :) I am nervous, just waiting to see if they progress as they should.

NaomiNatNat · 11/05/2023 16:12

@Infertilitylife That's a nice line 🥳🥰

Infertilitylife · 11/05/2023 19:13

@NaomiNatNat thank you.

I did a clear blue weeks calculator test and it came back as pregnant and 1-2 so that’s promising.

Purtyburty · 11/05/2023 19:49

I have held off from buying pregnancy tests until I know the thaw is successful!

OP posts:
Infertilitylife · 11/05/2023 20:10

@Purtyburty that’s a good idea :) I was adamant I wasn’t going to test early but that idea disappeared fast.

Purtyburty · 11/05/2023 21:13

@Infertilitylife I know I will test 5dp5dt as I did that last time. But holding out and buying the test because I feel iffy about the thaw - I don't know why I just do.

Infertilitylife · 11/05/2023 21:16

@Purtyburty I think you need to do what you feel best doing. This journey is so hard so whatever helps you should do.

grcrobbo · 13/05/2023 08:42

Hi ladies, can I join? Had my transfer on Wednesday so I’m 3dp5dt. I feel absolutely nothing and know in my heart it hasn’t worked. This is my 4th transfer - my first one worked but ended in a mmc at 8w. The other 2 were BFN’s.

For my successful transfer, I had cramps/twinges/back ache days 3-5 which I’m convinced was implantation. For my failed transfers, I had no symptoms at all and so the fact I feel nothing again makes me convinced this didn’t work.

Feel so heartbroken 💔

Createmagik · 14/05/2023 16:03

@grcrobbo Welcome! Nice of you to join. It is such a fragile time with so many different emotions, dreams and expectations. I do know from my extensive forum reading that every pregnancy is different, and you can have surprising outcomes even when it is looking bleak! I wish I could look into the future for you but I hope that you can find some pockets of 'normal' 'relaxed' life in-between it all. I am sure that the nice weather is helping too - wishing you all the best x

Createmagik · 14/05/2023 16:04

@Purtyburty Fingers crossed for your transfer tomorrow - thinking of you x

Createmagik · 14/05/2023 17:00

Just an idea for everyone - I have been watching a lot of stand-up comedy on Netflix - it has been helpful to me!
