FET May 2023

Hi! I am scheduled for a FET in May and wondered if anybody might want to join who is in a similar position.

I had ICSI in 2020. A fresh transfer resulted in DD being born in 2021. We are doing a FET from an embryo we had of that round of ICSI.

Girls I don’t believe it, we spoke to our consultant today. She basically said that it was the embryo and they are going to up my dose of progesterone.
we start treatment ….. TOMORROW

I am so excited, more excited than nervous.

KLM25 · 29/03/2023 19:48

@Jazsimone That’s great news 😊 Really pleased for you both, always feels good to be moving forward x

HopefulHead · 30/03/2023 08:51

@Jazsimone Thats great news 😃😃
Can’t wait to follow your cycle and see how you get on ❤️ Are you doing medicated again? So would they be implanting this month?

Jazsimone · 30/03/2023 09:31

@HopefulHead

Hey, yes just waiting in the clinic now for my baseline scan. Yes medicated with higher dose of progesterone. Transfer should be in 2 weeks if everything goes okay today 🤞🏽

KLM25 · 30/03/2023 09:45

Great news @Jazsimone Hope the baseline scan goes well. I’ve actually just received my new protocol and they’ve upped my progesterone too. I’ll be starting the Lubion injection on the same day as the pessaries whereas I’ve previously started it on the day of transfer. Never thought I’d be happy to be doing more injections ☺️ x

Jazsimone · 30/03/2023 09:50

@KLM25

Hey girl .... so my baseline scan was 6/7mm so still fairly thick but I am still only a few days off of progesterone.
I'm dreading the needles again but I will do again thing it takes.
🥰

HopefulHead · 30/03/2023 10:02

@Jazsimone so is it just progesterone you’ll be having or will you also have to have a trigger shot?
So glad they’ve let you do back to back transfers, must be such a relief to not have to wait ❤️

Jazsimone · 30/03/2023 11:07

@HopefulHead

So I will start taking estrogen tomorrow and then progesterone after my next scan (next Thursday) no trigger shot as this is a FET. Gosh it's all happening. ❤️

KLM25 · 30/03/2023 11:15

@Jazsimone Exactly! Bring it on.. 💉☺️
Great news about your lining too 👍 x

HopefulHead · 30/03/2023 11:20

@Jazsimone Ahhh ok, at my clinic their natural is nothing at all, whereas the medicated is an injection to bring on your period, then a trigger to bring on ovulation before implantation so looks like your clinic do somewhere inbetween the 2 which is good!
Bet it’s great it all happening so quickly, waiting around for things to start is really hard isn’t it !

Jazsimone · 30/03/2023 13:28

@HopefulHead

Ohhh okay, I am so pleased to get started again... I feel like I am in such a good place mentally! I spent days crying after the last cycle! It's all positive vibes ✌🏽

HopefulHead · 30/03/2023 13:31

@Jazsimone Thats so good to hear 🥰❤️ Hopefully those positive vibes are your body’s way of telling you it’s ready this month 🥰❤️

Purtyburty · 30/03/2023 14:35

My medication has been ordered so starting meds on day one of my next cycle!

HopefulHead · 30/03/2023 14:37

@Purtyburty Whoop! So exciting 😁😁😁
What meds will you be taking?
I have my appointment next week and I honestly can’t wait, I feel like I’ve no idea what to expect doing a FET!

Purtyburty · 30/03/2023 14:42

@HopefulHead I will be taking oestradiol tables, fyremadel injections and cyclogest pessaries I think! Good luck with your appointment.

HopefulHead · 30/03/2023 14:45

@Purtyburty It is strange how a lot of clinics seem to do FET medication differently isn’t it, means I have no idea what to expect other than the information leaflet they gave me which gives a very short summary!
When are you expecting your cycle to start so you can get going with the meds?

Purtyburty · 30/03/2023 14:51

@HopefulHead I am on day one of my cycle and the meds haven't arrived so about 4-5 weeks for the next one. Yes I would be interested to see what other medication people are doing!

OP posts:
HopefulHead · 30/03/2023 14:53

@Purtyburty Ahh ok, how do you feel about waiting?
Me too, I’m really not sure I want to do medicated FET but my clinic do recommend it over natural so I just wanna know as much as possible to make an informed decision as I don’t want to regret it if it doesn’t work and feel responsible if I chose the wrong protocol 😬

Purtyburty · 30/03/2023 15:04

@HopefulHead I am okay with waiting. I think if I did it this cycle my due date would be around Christmas/new year's Eve!

I haven't taken the medication since 2020 so not too bothered about doing a medicated cycle.

OP posts:
HopefulHead · 30/03/2023 15:06

@Purtyburty Yeah I get that, the only benefit would be knowing you get Xmas off for maternity 🤭
I guess that’s why I’m not keen on doing any medication, as it was only a couple of weeks ago I did the ivf cycle and because I got so poorly from it I’m really reluctant to take any again so soon

KLM25 · 01/04/2023 09:31

@Purtyburty Great to hear that they’ve ordered your medication. Always feels good to take a step forward 😊 x

Apologies I'm a bit behind on reading through all this thread. Will read through soon.

Just wondering how much interaction others are getting with the consultant. I'm generally pretty happy with my clinic but starting to think I'm not getting enough consultant input.

With the first FEt I had an initial meeting with the consultant the didn't speak to them again.

Second fet had a meeting with them before starting but just continued with the same protocol as first time so their contribution to the process was minimal.

This time I don't have a meeting with the consultant at all? Willl speak to the nurse next week and assume will
Follow same protocol as last two times.

The nurses are all wonderful, but I expected the consultant to do more?

Just wondering if that's normal with what other clinics
Do?

Hi Ladies,

Im joining in on "the fun". I have a tentative FET date for the 11th of May. Hopefully everything will go smooth in your preparations!!

im doing a medicated cycle, currently on birth control and starting Lupron half of April. I have a baseline scheduled for this Thursday, so hopefully everything will be okay! Pretty nervous reading about all the progesterone intermuscular injections that I have to take.. but its all for a good cause..

I did an egg retrieval half of March, and we ended up with 5 genetically embryos (L) We have had 3 miscarriages last year - no living kids, so we hope this will be our game changer.

@duckling3 I feel my clinic only calls when its needed, right now im in touch to schedule all the meds and all but it seems to be that they are pretty hands off.

NaomiNatNat · 03/04/2023 19:11

Hi, my FET is in May. I started pretreatment yesterday, basically the pill everyday for 3 weeks and then Prostap on the 2nd week. I'm doing mine abroad xx

duckling3 · 09/04/2023 16:03

Hi. How's everyone doing?

I have nurse consultation coming up the week and then hoping to start medication and some point in the next two weeks.

Starting to feel a little more nervous after having two previously failed cycles. Just tying to focus on being as healthy as possible so at least if it fails I don't feel guilty I didn't do everything I could.
