FET May 2023

Hi! I am scheduled for a FET in May and wondered if anybody might want to join who is in a similar position.

I had ICSI in 2020. A fresh transfer resulted in DD being born in 2021. We are doing a FET from an embryo we had of that round of ICSI.

@duckling3 will you be doing a FET from your 2020 ivf cycle? I am waiting for the first day of my period to start taking my meds.

Hi everyone! Would love to join this tread. We have one five day embryo from last year's two Ivf cycles. Fully medicated, hoping that will increase chances? Looking like transfer will be early May 😁

MaybeBabyTwo · 11/04/2023 21:36

Hi all, I'm here after a failed FET in March (and a successful cycle that resulted in my daughter in 2020). Day 1 of this cycle was 4th April so hopefully my period (and beginning of meds) will be early May. We had our wtf appointment today and no real change, pretty much just go again.

I test early so I'm reaaaaaally hoping for a positive test before the end of May but I'm finding it so hard to stay positive.

Purtyburty · 13/04/2023 13:29

@Createmagik hi! Welcome. It looks like we will be in a similar position although my transfer is more likely to be mid May.

@MaybeBabyTwo hi! I will be testing late May too!

Irisjj · 13/04/2023 13:38

@MaybeBabyTwo hi again! I will also be testing end of May! Just started Lupron today - quite itchy after the shot and a rash on the injection site.

We are working towards a transfer on the 11th of May! 🤞🏻

Createmagik · 13/04/2023 15:57

Ohhh this is so daunting and so exciting. As we only have one chance... Wishing us all the best!

Createmagik · 13/04/2023 15:59

All my meds are on their way. I did not expect so much medication... But if it does what it needs to, bring it on 😁

MaybeBabyTwo · 13/04/2023 17:26

Hi 👋

Sad day here yesterday as found out that our remaining embryos are grade C or C- (our clinic doesn't use the number-letter-letter system). We've previously never asked for their grading as the clinic have always just said that they only freeze things worth freezing, but the Dr told us in a throwaway comment in our WTF appointment and then I asked and argh 😔 our daughter was A, transfer we just lost was A- and the rest are all C or C-.

I rang the embryologist in floods of tears and she said that C grades are still a 35% chance and that they really mean it that they're worth transferring. I felt a bit reassured after that but generally just feeling a bit low I think.

I have a practise transfer booked for next week as the last transfer was really difficult so I'm hoping to improve that. Then hopefully meds at the beginning of May.

Hope you're not too itchy @Irisjj I've never taken that medication but doesn't sound much fun!

NaomiNatNat · 14/04/2023 10:34

@MaybeBabyTwo There's definitely a chance with grade C and I would use them. Can they transfer more than 1?

Little update from me, Got prostap shot next Thursday then stop the pill next Sunday until AF arrives.

Anyone else transferring week beginning 15th May?

Baby dust to us!! 💖💫🤱

Purtyburty · 14/04/2023 13:16

@NaomiNatNat I am
transferring week beginning 15th May!

NaomiNatNat · 14/04/2023 13:27

@Purtyburty oh that's great! Not sure which day exactly in that week. Im doing mine in Spain. Are you doing progesterone test before the transfer? This is something that wasn't offered to me last time.

Purtyburty · 14/04/2023 13:30

@NaomiNatNat I think I am having a blood test. I am not too sure to be honest. It is my first frozen transfer so I think probably a standard protocol is being used. I should probably find out! She. Do you go to Spain?

Purtyburty · 18/04/2023 12:37

for those who have done medicated FETs - did you inject at a specific time each day, and if so, what time was it? Did the clinic tell you your time? Mine have said I can inject whenever I want as long as it is the same time every day

OP posts:
Jazsimone · 18/04/2023 14:33

Hey @Purtyburty
I am taking an injection and it was recommended in the evening.
I guess its due to levels over night dropping, injections have a better affect on the body compared to pessaries.

I hope that helps

MaybeBabyTwo · 18/04/2023 17:55

@Purtyburty my fyremadel injection - instructions on box said morning, clinic said do it whenever so long as its broadly the same time each day, I decided to play safe and follow instructions so did first thing in the morning, within an hour ish each day.

KLM25 · 18/04/2023 19:23

@Purtyburty My clinic have said a similar thing to yours but I’ve always done my Clexane injection at 7pm, immediately followed by the Lubion. Fun times ☺️ I figured I’d generally be at home at that time given that I have next to no social life these days! Mind you, I’ve done a few in restaurant toilets and one on the M25 (our clinic is abroad ☺️).

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet on here. Welcome to everyone who’s joined 👋
@NaomiNatNat Which clinic in Spain are you with, if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve been in email contact with a couple of Spanish clinics, as I’m reaching the age limit with our current clinic in Prague 🤦‍♀️ We’ll still have a couple of frozen embryos we could maybe transport there if this FET in May doesn’t work.
I’m having a baseline scan on Thurs and then I’ll be praying my period starts on schedule 🤞 x

NaomiNatNat · 18/04/2023 19:34

@KLM25 Just PM you xx

KLM25 · 18/04/2023 20:02

@NaomiNatNat Thankyou 😊 Just got it 👍 x

NaomiNatNat · 21/04/2023 09:54

Hello Everyone, just updating 😊

Got my Prostap shot yesterday. Wondering how long you waited until you had a bleed after that? My nurse said it might be around 10 days but some bleed in 2 days.
Honestly hoping it's earlier as possible as it means I can do my transfer ealier all being well.

How is everyone feeling? Any updates?

Lots and lots of hugs 💖

Irisjj · 21/04/2023 13:07

I’ve had a very stressful week.. I was in NL Europe to fix my visa but they took super long. Missed my appointment for IVF - luckily was able to do bloodwork here and sent the results to the US.. had to change all my flights and my husband is already back in the US.

now picking up my passport to fly back tomorrow… my gosh IVF is already stressful in itself… this week cost me a couple of years in life 🙈

My bloodwork was all good, so started Estradiol today!!! 4th of May a lining check. Hope you ladies are all doing okay.. ❤️❤️

Createmagik · 21/04/2023 13:56

Hi everyone - hope you are all holding up O.K.

My period started today 10 days after Prostap injection and starting with Oestradiol, Asprin and Canesflo (probiotic) tomorrow. First scan Saturday the 29th and then start the joys of Cyclogest, Lubion, Asprin and Cyclogest😛

Posting lots of positive vibes for us all 😘

MaybeBabyTwo · 25/04/2023 17:41

Hi all, hope you're doing okay.

@Irisjj that sounds immensely stressful! Glad it all got sorted!

My medication arrived today which is good. I ovulated on Saturday which of course puts me on track for transfer to land on the late May Bank hol weekend 🙄 but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

How's everyone else doing?

NaomiNatNat · 26/04/2023 13:12

Hello 👋

Update: Had withdrawal bleed today 6 days after Prostap injection. So I start oestrogen tabs today all the way until OTD! My ultrasound for endometrial thickness is 5th May. Does anyone know what endometrial thickness I need to be to be able to transfer?

@Createmagik not far behind you!

Good luck Everyone 🫄👩‍🍼👼👼👼

MaybeBabyTwo · 26/04/2023 14:15

@NaomiNatNat my clinic say 7mm or above, but I know anecdotally that they will discuss late 6s too.
