@BertLiv You still have a few more days. Have A LOT of protein and water. How big are they? You may have some hidden ones as sometimes the scans and measurements are inaccurate. When I had my scan the doc looked like she didn't want to be there and did it so quickly and couldn't be bothered to measure and look at all angles xx

BertLiv · 06/02/2023 10:27

@Lauralozzle Thank you - hopefully they will have a growth spurt. Trying to stay positive!

@NaomiNatNat That is true and really hoping the next scan is better. I know one follicle is 13mm, and was the same last Friday morning, and it sounded like there were at least two more, possible three, but they were all very small. But, that would mean I've gained a few since Friday, so that's a positive. Thanks re the protein and water - I'll up my intake!

The clinic called me halfway through typing this and have said that if the scan on Thursday doesn't show any change then the round will be abandoned and we will then have to have a review with the doctor about what to do next.

I’m sorry @Claireabella05 I know how tough it is to see a bfn, it only takes one and you have one left. Take care of yourself

@ali2021 we sound like similar journeys I’m also 2 years since we got married and feels an age, I didn’t test again this morning and my husband stopped me! He had to leave early and didn’t want to have to leave me if bad news! We’ve decided tomorrow morning if the day, I’m not sleeping so need to be out out my misery

Claireabella05 · 06/02/2023 11:10

Thank you everyone for your kind messages.

I have spoken to the doctor and they are going to do a full blood count, white blood cells etc...
I haven't been prescribed any form of steroids, the doctor said he will wait for my results to come back first and go from there.
I have been given a stronger antihistamine - chlorphenamine that is prescription only, for managing my day to day allergies (pets, house dust mites, hayfever etc) not sure if its all connected or just coincidence as my allergy tests came back as extrenely high levels for these are a few months ago, or if they are even related to ivf and the immune system etc. One step further though I suppose.

Ive just got to wait to speak to the fertility clinic now and see what they say and go from there.

Frosty91 · 06/02/2023 13:42

@Claireabella05 I'm so sorry 😞 you done everything you could. I would say get checked out for celiac also as that affects fertility. And I would try the frozen one you have left. You just never know. And sometimes people who try IVF and it doesn't work it works natural for them after that. So please dont give up. Keep praying x

Frosty91 · 06/02/2023 13:51

Anyone else experiencing back pain during early pregnancy x

Claireabella05 · 06/02/2023 14:00

Thank you...I have just spoken to the nurse and finally have listened beacuse ive had 2 negative tests, they are going to review it and discuss my next steps for any further investigations...she did say my symptoms do sound as if they could be immune related and they can discuss adding steroids etc....I really hope this can be added for the next cycle/transfer 🙏 my only worry is now I have used my strongest embryos.
But definitely feel as if a weight has been lifted and I'm another step closer.

Claireabella05 · 06/02/2023 14:14

@Frosty91 thank you, I might call the doctor to add that to the blood test, the fertility nurse also recommend a TBO blood test, I'm not sure what that one is either.

Frosty91 · 06/02/2023 14:20

@Claireabella05 not sure what that one is. But celiac is to do with immune system. Which affects fertility. Maybe try a gluten free diet x

LR94 · 06/02/2023 14:22

Thanks whoever started the new thread!
I had my fresh embryo transfer on Saturday and have felt quite tired. Mild headaches aswell and my nipples are extremely painful. Not sure if this is a side effect of the progesterone I’m taking but the pain only started after my transfer.
Its so easy to over think everything. Anyone else have the same feelings? I can’t test until the 17th which seems forever away and I can’t test too early as I had the trigger injection which can give false results 😭

Frosty91 · 06/02/2023 15:03

@LR94 hey welcome. I had the same sore boobs after my frozen transfer so it is very normal. I didn't get side effects of progesterone before transfer mine also happened after the transfer. After transfer I tested postive 3 days later 😊 and 5 days later on a digital clear blue then had my bloods and my hcg was high😊 so don't worry too much. Fingers crossed for you. Symptoms are good and some people have no symptoms so don't stress yourself too much. Enjoy and keep yourself busy x

Frosty91 · 06/02/2023 15:04

@LR94 I didn't have the trigger injection hence why I tested early x I would say hold on atleast a week before your trigger dies down x

LR94 · 06/02/2023 15:10

@Frosty91 thank you! I think the trigger stays for 10 days so i’ll test on the 14th

Dbop100 · 06/02/2023 15:30

@Claireabella05 I'm so sorry for your news, I've been there twice before and it is devastating.

I'll share what I did for this transfer incase it's of any interest to you. I've been tested previously and only had normal results but I asked them to put me on an immune protocol because I'm paranoid 🙃. I am taking steroids, baby aspirin before transfer and then switched to Clexane after transfer, intrillipid infusions (3 in total over a few weeks) and of course all the usual estrogen, progesteron (also a progesterone test the day before transfer to make sure it's at the right level). I used to take antihistamines for my asthma but was told to stop taking them before I started my protocol. I also off my own back take a probiotic for my vagina (this actually made all the difference for a friend of mine) and another one for my gut because I have IBS. All of this isn't actually that much more expensive, than what we're already paying. They're also minimal side effects so for me it was worth throwing everything at it.

I did get a BFP this round but it's early days and I will stress that it was a donor egg, so who knows it might have been the egg that made all the difference but this protocol gave me piece of mind. Xxxx

Claireabella05 · 06/02/2023 15:43

@Dbop100 thank you that is really helpful to know and I'm definitely going to push for it, as like you say definitely worth a shot after failed transfers, although I got a bfn today, I actually feel that I have something hopeful to try and look forward too!

Dbop100 · 06/02/2023 15:50

@Claireabella05 I'm glad it's helpful. Honestly it's your life and if the clinic has no medical reason to say no then I don't know why they would deny you the additional treatment. If they do I would consider moving to Care as they have always listened to my suggestions. It's just more stressful feeling like you need to beg to be heard. I really am so sorry for your outcome, sending lots of love and strength xx

Also popping the link here for everyone for the vaginal probiotics because I took them for a month before transfer. I had a friend who kept getting chemicals and this (and some antibiotics) sorted it out for her: www.optibacprobiotics.com/uk/product/probiotics-for-women

Claireabella05 · 06/02/2023 16:04

@Dbop100 thats really interesting about the probiotics I've never heard of them before.
Hopefully they will listen this time to my suggestions during my follow-up review.
Thank you.

Lucy5yearsttc · 06/02/2023 17:13

@Frosty91 I’m experiencing a bit of back pain but not enough for me to worry. Is yours ok not to need pain killer? Im having general kind of cramping too, which I’m hoping is all just normal as there’s 2 but I don’t know 🤞

JuliaIVF83 · 06/02/2023 17:31

@Lucy5yearsttc - I just spoke to my clinic as I’ve had a bit of cramping in the last couple of days and they said that cramping was a very positive sign in early pregnancy.

Got my 3rd beta back today - day 14 - 1500 so it’s tripled again since day 12.

I had a headache last night , the kind you get when you have been drinking at lunchtime and the hangover starts to kick in by 6pm and then a bit of cramping yesterday so potentially finally got some symptoms at 4weeks + 4 days.

Feeling good and positive! Happy weeks everyone xx

laurapop · 06/02/2023 17:33

@Frosty91 I did last time during early pregnancy and I've had a really sore back today too! But I think that's just from being on my feet a lot.

Today I was off with my daughter (I'm 3DPT) and it's been quite a busy day tbh. I've had to lift her in and out of the car and obviously pick her up a few times if she's needed me to. Those who already have small children and have gone through this again - just after a bit of reassurance that I've not ruined my chances today by not being able to rest 🙈. I mean I know people have 2nd children all the time and I'm sure they aren't able to rest much either!

JuliaIVF83 · 06/02/2023 17:38

@Claireabella05 - sorry to hear your news , as everyone says I would push your clinic for all the tests and then go into the next transfer with no unanswered questions.

LR94 · 06/02/2023 17:59

@laurapop im 2dpt, did you have fresh or frozen? Mine was fresh at day 3, i’m panicking incase it doesn’t make it to blastocyst stage. Everyones at different stages of the process but ours seem to be similar, do you know when you’ll do your first test?

laurapop · 06/02/2023 18:05

@LR94 I think I'm going to test on Sunday - I'll be 9DP5DT so really that's when my period would be due. Are you going to try and wait too or test earlier?

I think like people have said it's like a lottery! Try not to panic about it not working until you know either way. They wouldnt have done the transfer if it wasn't good enough quality 😊

How are you feeling otherwise?

Lucy5yearsttc · 06/02/2023 18:17

@JuliaIVF83 thank you 😊 I’m really hoping so! Xx

Lucy5yearsttc · 06/02/2023 18:18

@JuliaIVF83 and glad you’ve got symptoms! All positive signs x
