Also did everyone else wait the two weeks? Or are you testing early?

Thoughts on stopping medication if it’s a BFN to get into the next cycle? That was kind of my plan !!

it’s my first round - so keen to hear experiences on first round success 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

countrypunk · 05/02/2023 18:42

@whomoon So glad this thread has been helpful. I did my first cycle in Oct/Nov and this BFP was with my second and final embryo from that cycle. We'd been trying over 2 years and not a hint of a positive test in that time either! I still can't quite believe it. I'm sure you won't either when you get your BFP! I'm so sorry you're finding the injections hard. I found them really emotionally tough, but it'll be over before you know it. Just take it a day at a time. Xx

@Frosty91 It was a great idea to have that time off. I've been being very lazy/distracted but I can get away with it working from home! It's very hard to care about work when this is going on. I really hope tomorrow is OK, but I totally get how you're feeling. It's always rubbish going back to work after a long break. Just make sure you take it easy! I'm alright, I just keep freaking out about my symptoms coming and going. I don't think I'm gonna be able to stop testing before my scan... xx

Hello again @NaomiNatNat and @peonygirl 🧡

So glad you're feeling positive @Laur0606 🙂💛

@Vil I think most of us tested slightly early (if not loads!). I tested on 9dp5dt which was 2 days early. On my first transfer I stopped the progesterone as soon as I got a BFN. My second transfer has been a BFP and that was with an embryo from my first cycle. And there are a few women here who I think got BFPs on their very first go! Very best of luck.

Ahhh, so delighted to see this thread has resurfaced, so many positives on it!! Soo today was 9dp5dt and ... 2 positive tests 😭😍 Could hardly believe it! One digital and one with lines. Both appeared quite quickly. I was so sure I was out, as I've had zero symptoms.. no breast tenderness, no spotting, no nausea. Literally only thing was mild back ache, which started the day of transfer.

Not going to test again now until Thurs, which is my OTD. I am obsessive and ill start getting worked up over lines, so I'm just going to plead blissful ignorance and enjoy this time as best I can!

peonygirl · 05/02/2023 19:06

@ali2021 congratulations! Hope you receive the same positive result at your official test date.

@countrypunk Great for starting new thread and @NaomiNatNat for adding me. I am still waiting for my FET transfer, it is next week and can't wait. It's been a month of waiting and I sometimes forget I am actually in the process :) I am on patches not injections so way simpler and nicer way to receive the medication. I start with pessaries tomorrow.

countrypunk · 05/02/2023 19:09

Yay @ali2021 🧡💛💜 Amazing news!! This has been such a lucky thread, it's been absolutely wonderful to see all these BFPs rolling in.

Not testing again till Thursday is a smart move. I've been acting like a crazy woman and testing almost daily 🤡

laurapop · 05/02/2023 19:35

@Laur0606 that's wonderful news! My daughter was a 5AA and I've just had a 5BB transferred from the same cycle 😊. Best of luck! How are you feeling?

I'm now 2DPT and overthinking everything! Just been tidying the house and then thought, am I doing too much?? I keep forgetting I've actually got an embryo on board then think oh god, will that have affected anything 🙈. Its obviously not heavy exercise but you know, the overthinking is crazy

Vil · 05/02/2023 19:36

Congratulations @ali2021 I wish I’d have had the nerve to test this morning!!! I don’t like the idea of testing before work and then either being on my own at home or in the office!!

thanks @countrypunk for the info! Did they let you transfer in the next month or did you need to wait a bit sorry for all the questions

xxxx

countrypunk · 05/02/2023 19:48

@Vil Don't be sorry, I'm happy to answer as many questions as you want to ask!

I had the period immediately after my failed transfer and then another period. So my first transfer failed at the beginning of December, and I had my second embryo transferred on 22 January. I think the 6 week break was good because it gave my body a chance to recover from all the hormones on the full cycle. I didn't take any hormones for my second transfer except for progesterone 4 days before the transfer.

Hope that helps 🙂

Hi ladies! Glad I’ve found the new thread, I thought everyone had gone quiet 😂

Vil · 05/02/2023 20:00

Thanks @countrypunk i had my transfer 5 days after you! I’m pretty sure this hasn’t worked so I’ve been thinking about a natural transfer for next time as the medication is intense !

thanks for being so open xxxx

countrypunk · 05/02/2023 20:02

Argh @Purrrrr I didn't tag you, sorry! Glad you found us 😀 How are you?

@Vil Of course! Yeah, I'm really glad we were able to do a natural FET. It felt like a nice break! Xx

OP posts:
Vil · 05/02/2023 20:08

@countrypunk interesting and I guess a bit cheaper! I had my collection in early Dec and then had to wait a cycle in between before transfer of 26th Jan so I’ve been on this journey what feels like a long time including 2 years TTC!!

Ill try and wait until my official test date but I have a FRER looking at me

x

countrypunk · 05/02/2023 20:32

@Vil My only advice is make sure you test using your first pee of the day. I stupidly tested first in the afternoon with really diluted pee and got a really faint line and it was agony waiting till the next morning to test properly.

I empathise totally. It's a long road. Take care of yourself.

Xx

Lauralozzle · 05/02/2023 21:10

@Laur0606 Your transfer sounds perfect. Fingers crossed for you in the 2WW.

@ali2021 That’s fantastic news! Congratulations 🎉

I think I’m going to try and hold out on testing until next Saturday. That’ll be 7dp5dt and when I’d expect my period after trigger… Surely trigger would be gone by then.

ali2021 · 05/02/2023 23:29

Thanks everyone... I am really still so shocked and in disbelief that at this moment in time at least.. I am at long last, pregnant! We transferred one 5-day, frozen embryo which was hatching. It was graded 2-2 which is on a scale of 1-3 apparently so quality 'very good'. It has been PGT-A tested, so I'm feeling tentatively hopeful about our chances.

@Vil , @claireabella and any others testing soon, wishing you very best of luck.

It really is such an incredibly anxious time. ❤️❤️

Vil · 05/02/2023 23:34

Thanks @ali2021 we are grade B which apparently means just good but hoping that’s enough ! Has this been a long journey for you. ? You must be so tentatively pleased I’m sure that you’re on a new path in this crazy journey.

I might test tomorrow will see how I feel! I’m annoyed with my husband as he’s drunk asleep on the sofa so maybe not lol ! I’m here stressing and sober for months and he’s half cut 😂😂

Laur0606 · 06/02/2023 07:11

@laurapop awww thank you 🥰 that’s brilliant to know it worked for you before and gave you a daughter! Fingers crossed for you this time!
I really hope it’s worked but currently have no symptoms but it is very early days. My husband has been home all weekend so I’ve been particularly lazy and tried to not do too much. I think only strenuous activity really matters mind.

Thanks @Lauralozzle how did yours go? Are you feeling ok so far?

@ali2021 Fantastic news! Congratulations! I bet you can’t believe it. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy journey 🥰

Claireabella05 · 06/02/2023 07:41

It's unfortunately a bfn for me 😪 absolutely gutted and heart broken!

I'm not sure what my next steps will be, I have one left in the freezer but I'm not holding much hope for this batch. I would like to go straight onto another fresh cycle but my other half thinks I just given the last frozen one a shot..... what would everyone else do?

I think I'm going to push to see if anything can be done differently, and i will try to speak to my doctor about immunology. However, I know my clinic doesn't believe in it, I just feel that on my fresh and frozen transfers I start with some positive signs, then shortly after the implantation days, it's as if I feel by body fighting with flu like symptoms and makes me feel ill, then my symptoms disappear. Maybe this is all in my head (hopefully it is) but I really want a doctor to listen and check to save more heartache.
Also the added financial pressures really aren't helping and causing more stress.

Any success stories after a failed fresh and frozen, needing a little hope?

Wishing everyone luck on their journeys x

ali2021 · 06/02/2023 08:02

I'm so so sorry to hear that, @Claireabella05. I really hope you're minding yourself and being kind to yourselves. It really is such a rollercoaster and such a cruel journey.
It sounds like you could be onto something with the cold/flu symptoms. Would it be possible for you to go and get your white blood cell count checked ASAP? If this is very high, it would suggest that your body is fighting something off. I only know this as my acupuncturist advised me to get white blood cells, progesterone and thyroid checked 4 days after transfer. She said its crazy that clinics don't do this. My clinic wouldn't do it, so I found somewhere locally to have it done. (And paid 150 euro for the privilege!) I know that the only thing that helps me after getting bad news is having a plan of a test or next move of some sort, so maybe it might help you also to have an idea of something you can do. Also, it might be helpful to reach out to another clinic to have further immunology tests done if yours arent playing ball. Sending so much love ❤️
@Vil , that's very funny. My husband was the exact same last night 🤣 We have been trying since we got married almost 2 years ago. Definitely not as long as others on this path, but it feels a lifetime x

Lauralozzle · 06/02/2023 08:08

@Laur0606 It was quite uncomfortable. I’m not very good at relaxing it seems with my feet in stirrups!

Our one and only blast is poor quality, so, I’m hopeful but not expecting anything to come from it. I’m only 2 dpt so not really feeling anything besides the progesterone!

Laur0606 · 06/02/2023 08:12

Aww @Claireabella05 so sorry to hear this. It’s such a cruel journey. You did everything right. I listened to a podcast and somebody said the ivf journey is like cashing in your chips in a casino and the final pregnancy test you just place the chips on red or black, it all just comes down to luck.

If you have a frozen there, I would try that. As cliche as it sounds, it only takes 1 and that could be your one. If it was good enough to be frozen, it is good enough. I’ve heard frozen transfers tend to be cheaper than doing a whole fresh round again?

Hope you have people around you today. Take it easy x

Lauralozzle · 06/02/2023 08:14

@Claireabella05 Im sorry to hear it hasn’t worked. Look after yourself.

countrypunk · 06/02/2023 08:49

@Claireabella05 I'm so sorry to read your update. This is so so tough.

As others have said, if it were me I would definitely use your frozen embryo. If it was good enough to freeze then it's good enough to develop into a baby. If you suspect immune issues it might be an idea to investigate those before you have it transferred. I know there's no research base but there are several doctors around who specialise in treating immune issues and there are women on these boards who've gone on to have babies after seeing them. One is Dr Shehata: www.crpclinic.co.uk/

Take care of yourself and I'm wishing you the best of luck with your next transfer. Xx

Just got my from my day 9 scan and things aren’t looking good. The two follicles she saw on Friday haven’t really grown, I have two new ones but they are tiny and my endometrial lining hasn’t grown either. The clinic is going to contact me but it looks likely we’ll leave it a few more days, have another scan and hope things have improved and, if they haven’t, we may have to abandon the round.

I knew I should’ve been expecting it as they said it does happen, but I still feel very down. Not a good start to the week 😞

Lauralozzle · 06/02/2023 09:18

@BertLiv Oh no 😥 Hopefully those eggs have a growth spurt. This process is so hard, every step is a massive mind fuck. Fingers crossed for you that the cycle isn’t abandoned.
