So sorry to hear your news @Yel. Hope your breather gives you the headspace you need.

FlapJackered · 27/02/2023 08:30

Anyone else feel like they are losing their mind in the tww? 😵‍💫 6dp5dt and couldn't feel less pregnant.

Piapea · 27/02/2023 10:11

Huge congratulations to everyone that's got their BFP in the last few days!

I got my BFP yesterday, I'm beyond shocked, I was really expecting a negative.

@FlapJackered don't lose hope yet.. I felt absolutely nothing last week, by day 9 I was getting a few twinges but that's it.

Aishae · 27/02/2023 12:04

Congrats all on BFP.. wishing you guys a HH 9 months.

Megan1591 · 27/02/2023 12:16

@FlapJackered I'm genuinely losing my mind. Back at work today and honestly don't know whether to cry or scream. These hormones are not fun and the unknowing is killing me off

ingkir · 27/02/2023 18:53

Congrats @Piapea! That's great news!

Piapea · 27/02/2023 18:58

Thanks @ingkir

I have a question about progesterone. My clinic emailed me today to say that I can stop taking Cyclogest when I run out in a few days. Does this seem right? I thought I would have to keep taking it until I was 9 weeks or so. Could this be only during a fresh transfer cycle? There's a lot of conflicting info online, if anyone can help, I would appreciate it x

Maya34 · 27/02/2023 20:20

@Piapea I am on FET, my doctor said that I should continue with Cyclogest at least 5-6 weeks after otd.
Not sure how it is with fresh transfer

ingkir · 28/02/2023 06:53

@Piapea I had a fully medicated FET where they switched my ovaries off. My body isn't producing any hormones so I have to keep taking progesterone. Doctor has prescribed it until 12 weeks because of a previous early loss.

Did you have a natural FET? My understanding is that if you ovulated then your body will naturally produce progesterone. Although it's a bit confusing because I definitely ovulated with my previous fresh transfer but still took progesterone until 8 weeks.

But I don't think you can have too much progesterone so if it would give you peace of mind to keep taking it until your first scan then you should ask the clinic to let you do that.

Piapea · 28/02/2023 08:16

Thanks @Maya34 and @ingkir

I had a frozen transfer but had a trigger shot to make sure I ovulated. I think stopping progesterone so soon doesn't seem right so I'll push to get more.

How are you ladies feeling?

WhiteJasmin · 28/02/2023 10:01

@Piapea maybe ask the clinic directly if you have concerns being off so soon and they can give you their explanation? Might be better than second guessing and stressing yourself out.

If you are positive already maybe you don't need it? I'm not taking anything but my blood test results the nurses said the hormones are at the level they wanted. Not sure if that helps.

BronteGirl1985 · 28/02/2023 14:36

Hi All,

Am I too late to join? I had my FET on Friday 24th so currently 4DP5DT.

I am feeling incredibly anxious after my failed Fresh transfer in July 2022. I took some time off to help prepare myself mentally again.

I am not really feeling any side affects other than tiredness but that is me generally 🤣 I've been doing acupuncture, did anyone do this ahead of their BFP?

Congratulations to everyone who has received a BFP ✨️💗

Aishae · 28/02/2023 18:11

Congrats @BronteGirl1985 . HH 9 months ahead. I test on the 5 March.. I have a few symptoms. Tender boobs, funny taste in mouth, tiredness.. so I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

I haven't thought of doing acupuncture. I wonder if it's too late to give it a go.

FlapJackered · 28/02/2023 19:52

Hi @BronteGirl1985 I have been doing acupuncture and I have found it really helpful with the stress levels. I am yet to test though and not feeling overly positive about a bfp at the moment - literally no symptoms.

I had a failed FET in November - it's so hard to imagine it working out when you have had that failure before isn't it.
When is your OTD?

Stillhoping1990 · 28/02/2023 20:01

@BronteGirl1985 I had my FET yesterday - when is your OTD? Mine is 11th. I did acupuncture 3x before my FET and the day after but I’m not sure if I will continue now. I think at this point, what will be will be! How often are you doing the acupuncture? I’m very tired too but it’s defo the medication symptoms.

congrats to everyone who got their BFPs!

x

BronteGirl1985 · 28/02/2023 20:12

@Aishae I am glad you've got symptoms, fingers crossed for your test.

@FlapJackered Yes it really helps with my anxious thoughts and feel so much better for doing it 🤗

Well you're still in your PUPO bubble so I hope you get a BFP but yes it is so hard to let your mind wonder and hope, this time around I am being realistic. I will make a list of things I want to do if it fails to try help me mentally 🙈

My OTD is 9th March. Not decided if I will test early. Will you?

@Stillhoping1990 How did your FET go? I have done acupuncture every week since Mid Jan. I did one session day before FET and one 3DPT. I have another one on Thursday to help support implementation 🤞

I have no idea at this point what the result will be.

I'm currently falling asleep on sofa in several layers trying to keep my uterus warm.

Keep me posted on your symptoms x

Pax89 · 28/02/2023 20:27

So sorry to hear your news @Yel I hope you are dealing with it the best you can considering the situation and have lots of support ❤️

Congratulations @Maya34 and @Piapea
my clinic have advised I keep taking progesterone until 12 weeks. I questioned this the other day as i was told on my fresh cycle I didn’t need the lubion and it’s costing me a fortune so didn’t want to keep buying it if it’s not necessary. They said they like to do this as a precaution, something to do with by 12 weeks the placenta has taken over 🤷‍♀️ on my fresh cycle i had to take the cyclogest til 12 weeks. Seems everyone gives different advice which just makes it all confusing!

Welcome @BronteGirl1985 I was offered acupuncture but I hate needles so declined as it would just stress me out. The lubion injections are more than enough for me! My partner literally has to pin me down to do them 🤣

FlapJackered · 28/02/2023 20:44

@BronteGirl1985 that's a good idea to make a list. I might do the same.
My OTD is Saturday which would be 11dp5dt but I think I will probably test on Thursday. It's so hard to keep distracted 🙈😵‍💫

Aishae · 28/02/2023 20:57

How early is early enough to do an at home pregnancy test?
Im just gonna wait it out.. but thinking if I have all these symptoms maybe I should test at home. But then again don't want a false positive.. oooo my mind is starting to get the better of me. Should I.. shouldn't I

Saltisford · 28/02/2023 22:08

Hi All,

I have been reading your thread and thought I’d join for the final leg of my treatment.

I have a son born from IVF/ICSI in 2019. From this round of IVF I had two frozen embryos. We had a FET last summer which was unsuccessful and I had the last embryo transferred on 20th Feb so am 8dpt. I’ve been given 3/3 as my test day. We are having our treatment at the same NHS centre that we’ve always attended except we’re paying privately now. I’ve been prescribed cyclogest but never been tracked for progesterone levels. We’ve decided this will be the last treatment for us but surprisingly I’m quite calm about it all. Definitely more so than previous attempts. Good luck to everyone!

BronteGirl1985 · 01/03/2023 09:50

@Aishae did you decide whether to test earlier? I am like you, I have no idea what to do. I keep thinking just to wait for HCG blood test but I already feel anxious and only 5DP5DT.

@FlapJackered Good Luck if you test on Thursday 🤞✨️ what Progesterone are you on?

Welcome @Saltisford I am so pleased to hear you had your DS in 2019. Well all the best for 3/3 ✨️🤞 I am glad you are so calm, can you send some calmness my way as I am so anxious 😟 haha!

Saltisford · 01/03/2023 17:35

@BronteGirl1985 thank you - we are extremely lucky that it worked for us first time. I have developed a bit of an unconventional way of coping with the treatment and it has worked well this time but a bit of a pessimistic point of view! I have decided that it’s not going to work and that it’s just a formality to go through before I find out which way my life is going!

In the summer, we just kind of expected it to work based on our previous success and it was a shock that it didn’t.

Aishae · 01/03/2023 19:31

@BronteGirl1985 no I'm just going to wait it out, not testing early..

Stillhoping1990 · 02/03/2023 05:57

@BronteGirl1985
FET went really well - I’m fairly calm this time around. But finding it hard to choose a test day - my OTD is 11th March which isn’t ideal because I have work very early in the morning. I don’t want want to deal with results and go to work. So thinking I will test one day early or one day late.
But I also get in a stress doing a home test because I wake super early with anxiety! So might do the clinics blood test.
Is anyone else doing the blood test instead of home?
Im now 3dp5dt and feeling exhausted- but it’s probably due to the meds. Other than that, feel nothing! xxx

Piapea · 02/03/2023 06:47

Good morning everyone,

@Aishae @FlapJackered @Saltisford Lots of test days coming up, wishing you the very best of luck!

Congrats on your transfer @Stillhoping1990 . Hope you can relax for the next 10 days.

@BronteGirl1985 I had acupuncture on and off for about a year. I really liked it, the acupunturist was very knowledgeable about IVF and it was so good having someone to talk to about everything. I actually didn't have any during this transfer and I got my positive. Ithink it's supposed to be quite useful for lining issues but this was never my problem.

@Saltisford I think your mindset is exactly like mine.. I just said, this isn't going to work, over and over to avoid the crushing disappointment but then was utterly shocked when it was positive! Do whatever you have to do to protect your heart x

A big thank you to those of you who said I should push to get more progesterone from my clinic, they are sending me a prescription. I'll have it until 9 weeks at least which is making me feel much better.
Is anyone else not able to leave the tests alone? I've tested everyday since my BFP.. have to stop today because I'm out of tests but I'm thinking about buying more🙃
