IVF February 2023

HJen22 · 11/01/2023 14:06

Haven't seen a thread for February cycles so if anyone is waiting to start in the next few weeks and fancies some cycle buddies ❤️

Little about me, 34yo TCC #1. Low AFC/AMH. After two disastrous NHS cycles (NE Scotland) which resulted in no transfer, we went private and are away to start our second mild IVF cycle at Create in Manchester x

@HJen22 See I'm more of a fan of reflexology than acupuncture if I'm honest. but I'm all for trying anything to see if it helps. I'm glad that your 30 days of YOGA is helping. I might actually look into it, if I can fit it all into my work schedule and everything else that I've got going on.

@LF82 You'll be dead excited to finally get the ball rolling then. TBF this forum has been a massive help for me as well and has answered lots of stuff that I didn't know beforehand. Oh, maybe you both might cross paths in the clinic😀. I'd totally recommend reflexology as long as your alright with someone touching your feet. I was totally relaxed in seconds. I wouldn't worry about the needles with acupuncture you can't even feel them go in. They'll ask you to take a deep breath in and then they'll insert it (the needles are very very fine). I do prefer reflexology over acupuncture though.

@HJen22 that’s fab they are letting you do the transfer after the 2nd round, it’s good they are flexible. Hopefully you will get more embryos this round too 🤞

TW6 · 14/01/2023 21:11

Hey ladies,

hope you don't mind jumping on this thread. It's my 1st IVF cycle. Not a clue what to expect hoping to find a group to keep me right.

I was supposed to start my Burseslin injections on the 04/01/2023 but due to medication shortages I've had a prostap injection on the 11/01/2023 instead.

Anyone else been through this as well?

Brit22 · 15/01/2023 10:43

@TW6 Welcome to the group 🙂.

I'm starting my second round but I'm happy to answer any questions that you may have. This forum was great when I first started.

I was on Bemfola, Cetrotide then triggered with ovitrelle ,so I'm not sure about them injections. I do know that there is a storage at the moment though. How are you finding the injections anyway? xx

HJen22 · 15/01/2023 10:56

@Brit22 yeah the yoga is really good, nice and relaxing and they are quite short and totally varied. Not an hour long or anything and hard, nice and gentle and some are a lot of lying down with I like hahaha

@LF82 fingers crossed for some more embryos 🤞🏻 it was such a huge milestone getting those in the freezer so whenever I'm feeling down I remind myself of them. A transfer has been a long time coming!!

@TW6 welcome ❤️ I hope you are well, any questions at all just ask! Sorry I haven't been on any of those injections, is that a long protocol? Xx

@TW6 hey also my first round, no clue what to expect, and I’m going for Prostap tomorrow of the buserelin shortage… I’m happier about less injections but don’t really know why it’s not offered as standard?! The clinic told me it’s no difference in price

LF82 · 15/01/2023 18:15

@TW6 @JustBePositive welcome to the group! I actually haven’t started my injections yet as it’s my first round so am no help I am afraid!

@HJen22 just watched the video links on how to do the injections before the nurse appointment on Tuesday and completed freaked out! I hate injections at the best of times so the idea of doing it to myself is currently a no go. Agreed with DH that he might need to do them for me….

HJen22 · 15/01/2023 18:35

@LF82 aw I totally understand, it's so daunting. But after a few they do get less scary. I had a lovely NHS nurse my very first cycle who let us practice with an empty needle which helped, well my OH did it, just to get the angle and stuff and for me to know how it felt. I did some of the injections myself second cycle but I way prefer him doing them. Bemfola was new to us as we hadn't had that before and I think the pen is meant to be easier (and at least involves no meds mixing) so just take it slow, don't rush, hold the needle in for a little to check all the meds are out and you'll ace it 💕

@HJen22 thank you- fingers crossed. Think it’s suddenly all feeling very, very real x

TW6 · 15/01/2023 19:51

@JustBePositive yeah same I'm glad it's less injections. You nervous about tomorrow? I've been feeling off for the last few days since having it but as my OH said just means it's working. Looks like I'm only a few days ahead of you so anything I can help with I'm here.

@HJen22 @LF82 @Brit22 @PMAmostofthetime thank you for the warm welcome ladies very grateful

JustBePositive · 15/01/2023 20:12

@TW6 Oh interesting, no not nervous at all really. Thanks for the heads up though! Pray I will be the same. Hope everything goes as planned the next few weeks for us both!

TW6 · 15/01/2023 20:32

@JustBePositive good luck for tomorrow ♥️

HJen22 · 15/01/2023 20:57

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining. I've just read the thread from the start ☺️

I'm going to be starting down regulation on CD19 which will be 2nd Feb, I have Med delivery tomorrow too! Can't wait to get going!
My OH had to have surgical sperm retrieval in December due to his vasectomy, which went better than expected! So we have plenty of swimmers on ice, just waiting for eggs now!

I had IVF back in 2014 in my previous relationship due to unexplained infertility, which resulted in my very happy, healthy, now-7-year-old Son ♥️

TW6 · 16/01/2023 21:21

@Sj2505 well to the tread

@JustBePositive how you feeling off your prostap injection today?

TW6 · 16/01/2023 21:22

@Sj2505 that was meant to be well come 😅 just finished work brain has gone into shut down mode 😂

HJen22 · 17/01/2023 10:57

@LF82 I hope you have a good call with the nurse today 💕

@LF82 good luck with your appointment with the nurse today x

Sj2505 · 17/01/2023 12:07

@TW6 haha no worries, thank you.

Had my meds delivered this morning, can't wait to get started now!

TW6 · 17/01/2023 12:47

@Sj2505 exciting times 🥰

JustBePositive · 17/01/2023 16:02

@tw6 feeling ok thanks! It was pretty straightforward and I’m definitely glad there’s a buserelin shortage now! I’ve got a bit of a cold so have a headache and feeling tired generally, so I don’t think there’s really been any symptoms which is good.

Just want the things to all happen quickly! Hope your next stage is on track

Ks04 · 17/01/2023 16:18

Hey everyone this is my second cycle
I had a fresh cycle which failed last March I then had a frozen cycle which failed in early December
I had an appointment yesterday got my meds start again on my next cycle which should be 8th feb,

im having ICSI this time the other times I had IVF
so intrigued to see what the difference will Be!
I’m booked in for egg collection on 22nd feb!

bit concerned tho as I was only given 2 different names injections which is normal but I wasn’t given any tablets which I had the first time. Not sure if that’s just because I just had a period or I don’t know!

good luck to you all ❤️

Carly05 · 17/01/2023 18:21

Hi all. I'm new to IVF. We have Just started our first round. All very daunting . Im day 2 of injections not enjoying them. On menopur 375 iu. Will add in Fyremadel on Saturday until egg retrieval after trigger inj of ovitrelle next Fri. Anyone else on similar protocol? I'm 41 with amh of 6 and have 5 follicles, having ICSI too. How do you guys find the medication / side effects ?

Carly05 · 17/01/2023 18:23

Best of luck for Ur egg collection in Feb 🤞🤞 xx

TW6 · 17/01/2023 19:18

So AF showed up today which means I'll be in for my 1st scan after starting my injections tomorrow or Thursday need to call the clinic tomorrow to book it in as i missed them before closing. Ladies who have already been through this, is it an internal scan? Or just a normal one? Not sure what to expect.
