My hubby and I are on day 4 of stims - our first IVF cycle. Just wondering if there's anyone else in the same boat who might want to share the journey? :)

Hi @Izzie94x how fantastic to hear how quickly it worked for you. I just can't wait to get started it just feels like a dream will finally, possibly come true xx

Koalie · 10/07/2023 13:48

@Izzie94x oooo yeah I do like Jasper ! Awwww just ignore peoples bump comments ☺️ I think it often comes from not really knowing what to say. I am praying that I stay slim everywhere else. I’m naturally quite small but I have to work hard to stay slim so I can imagine I’m gunna end up a big round ball 😆
I’m feeling great thank you, loving the second trimester although I do still seem to have sicky spells. Currently in Cornwall with the hubby and having the best week. Embracing the tiny little kicks and growing bump 🥰 x

@Izzie94x @Strawberry08
Hi ladies :) how are you both doing? How many weeks are you both now?

I just had a quick question… I’m now feeling proper kicks and can even feel them with my hand from the outside (which is really weird to me 🥴😆) but I’m not finding any sort of regular pattern to the movements. Baby will be really wriggly for like a few minutes and then can go bloody ages without moving again. They’re also sometimes more wriggly at night but then some nights there’s nothing - is this normal? X

Good thank you! Almost 25 weeks now. Getting quite tired and still have so long to go!

ah totally normal. They say 24 weeks + for seeing a pattern. But to be honest there’s no pattern to mine, but they are regular (I.e I feel kicks throughout the day on and off), but some days busier than others! Baby will still be small and have lots of space so you will only feel wriggles when they are in certain positions.

Whens your 20 week scan?

User491 · 20/07/2023 11:02

Hello everyone.. I'm back 👋🏻

I hope you are all ok, I'm so so
Happy for you all and had a flick through and it's so lovely to see your beautiful pics ❤️
I bet you are all so excited ☺️

I'm on day 17 of down reg, I have a scan in a week and start my stims 🥳 all being well obviously! My bleed finally arrived yesterday but my god I'm in agony!!
Egg collection potentially booked in for 3 weeks today 😊

@JennyF84 I seen your from Cumbria, I'm also up north. Which clinic are you under now? Have you had your private app yet?

JennyF84 · 20/07/2023 13:34

Hi @User491 👋 So great to hear from you, my first appointment is next Thursday at Hewitt Fertility in Liverpool x

Strawberry08 · 20/07/2023 14:33

@User491 yay!! So happy you’re back on the journey.
Are you targeting an embryo transfer in the same cycle?

User491 · 20/07/2023 15:31

@JennyF84 brilliant, good luck for next week 😊 the wait times in Cumbria were long with us too, but in the end our clinic fast tracked up as our local hospital was a total and utter waste of time and forgot to put referrals in etc! Did you have similar issues?

@Strawberry08 ahh it's weird as it seemed so long away then it's actually flew in and to think in 3 weeks I will have egg collection 😱
Yes hoping for a 5 day transfer again as long as we get an embryo! I feel a bit more apprehensive this time tbh though ☹️ think the first time it's just you taking it all in, this time I'm a lot more aware of everything that can go wrong... that being said I know I need to keep positive!
How are you doing? 😊

JennyF84 · 20/07/2023 16:20

@User491 I've recently relocated to Cumbria (Dec 22) and been on the waiting list just for a gynae appointment for about 25 weeks now and the last time I phoned them they said the waiting time at the moment is 40 to 50 weeks 😫I've already had extensive investigations and medication under the NHS when I lived in Oxfordshire so we're at the point we know IVF is our next step. I dread to think how long it would actually take to get to this point with the NHS here where I live.

Koalie · 20/07/2023 17:42

@Strawberry08 OK so you’re 5 weeks ahead of me .. must remember that. Thank you for your reassurance re the kicks. I was wondering if maybe I just wasn’t feeling ALL of them cause it’s still early. My scan is on Monday 🤭 I’m feeling knackered too and I’m not even half way there 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ x

@User491 Yay! Welcome back 🥰 that has flown by! Did you get away on holiday? I totally understand why this round might feel different but they will have learned from the first and will know if/where there’s any improvement that can be made. I’ve got everything crossed for you! X

Strawberry08 · 20/07/2023 19:37

@User491 ah I can totally understand why you may feel apprehensive, but @Koalie is right, they will have learnt from last time and you will have a better shot this go.
Try impryl for the next few weeks, myself and husband took it for 4 weeks and my husbands change in sperm results were mind blowing! I genuinely believe it could really help the outcome with good quality eggs/sperm.

@JennyF84 ah I live in Oxfordshire, what prompted the move? Youl have to let me know if you’re glad you moved as we often have thoughts of moving up north.

@Koalie eek I loved my 20 week scan because it takes ages so you get a really good look. Is that when you are going to find out gender or are you going to open envelope after the scan?

User491 · 20/07/2023 19:57

@Koalie ahh I bet you cannot wait for that scan, so so exciting 🥰
It's all the milestones you get to isn't it, honestly so pleased for you all!!

Yes we had a lovely 2 week holiday in June thank you, and we defo needed it, the break was lovely and it was exciting knowing we were coming back and then my meds app was looming!

@Strawberry08 ahh do you think it's worth a shot? I have my husband on proxeed this time he's taken it since May... so many different Storys of each I just wasn't sure! The only other supplement I've taken is coq10, I might just order some on Amazon and both take it too!

@JennyF84 where in Cumbria are you if you don't mind me asking? So exciting just starting the journey but it's defo a tough one... hopefully well worth it for us both 😊

Feel all giddy after speaking to you guys again tonight 😂 it feels more real!
My protocol is the same as last time, but my menopur has changed to ovaleap not sure why (I was told it was the same type medication) but I have pushed for the extra progesterone, I find out next week if they will allow it. I hope they do, however, if not, was it you @Koalie that mentioned somewhere else you can get it?

JennyF84 · 20/07/2023 22:11

@Strawberry08 I'm originally from here so moved back to be closer to my parents and extended family, love being back and living by the sea which I've become obsessed with since being back.
@User491 I'm in Barrow in Furness, how soon after your first consultation did you start the treatment?

User491 · 21/07/2023 08:26

@JennyF84 living by the sea sounds so lovely 😊

We had our first consultation in the august, started meds in the November and went in for egg collection the beginning of January. However, I assume with you being private that you will get in quicker tbh, they probably will want to do their own tests etc, but I'm sure they won't keep you waiting too long 🤞🏻

JennyF84 · 21/07/2023 09:01

Ah yes they are repeating the AMH levels but I think that is it.

Koalie · 21/07/2023 09:32

@Strawberry08 oh I reckon I’ll be more like this because I don’t wanna accidentally see the sex 🫣 lol. We are having cupcakes made and picking them up Friday evening next week on the way to the beach. Praying for nice weather so we can have a picnic and some nosecco😆

@User491 i second what @Strawberry08 said about the Impryl! Both myself and hubby took it and I’m so confident that it’s what led to us having such a good result, because both of us had quite negative initial test results. We were also very strict with our lifestyle changes so it could have been that too I suppose 🤷🏻‍♀️just bear in mind that it shouldn’t be taken alongside CoQ10 because they both work in different ways and will counteract each other.

@JennyF84 Very jel. I would love to live by the sea! 😍

Koalie · 21/07/2023 09:38

Oh and @User491 re progesterone, I think I suggested you do an at home progesterone test to check your levels and then use that to persuade them to give you more. However, I reckon if you just put your foot down from the start and say you definitely want more progesterone this round, you could persuade them. I had progesterone up until 16 weeks! Recommended by the midwife due to previous miscarriages xx

Koalie · 24/07/2023 09:16

We have a bendy baby with it’s foot above it’s head. 😆 all went well today. The placenta is closer to the cervix than they’d like so they will do another scan at 36 weeks to make sure it’s move up and not down. Did either of you have that? @Strawberry08 @Izzie94x ? 🥴 x

User491 · 30/07/2023 12:14

So sorry for the late reply!

@Koalie aww that's wonderful news, I bet you are over the moon!

Thanks for the info regarding progesterone, I was there last week for my scan and stupidly forgot to ask 🙈 I started stims on Friday, and back there Thursday so will defo ask them then and really try to persuade them!

How are you all feeling?

Koalie · 30/07/2023 16:33

@Strawberry08 eeeeee can’t believe we’re all having boys 😆🫶🏼 we are over the 🌙 we went pram shopping today and our fave was the ocarro but I want to try out the yoyo before we commit! @Izzie94x did you say you bought a mamas and papas pram? X

@User491 ooooh that’s so exciting! Please keep us posted on how you get on? Xx
