First cycle - IVF / ICSI - Day 4

My hubby and I are on day 4 of stims - our first IVF cycle. Just wondering if there's anyone else in the same boat who might want to share the journey? :)

@Koalie They will be two years apart too so hopefully best friends!
I love Joshua and can’t really think of anything else I like at the min so maybe that will be it!

@Strawberry08 Joshua is lovely !! And goes really well with Toby 🥰 so happy for you. IVF does seem to make more boys than girls. I reckon I’ll be making it 3/3 for sure x

@Koalie it really does! It must be because they’re the “stronger” looking sperm 😂 how you feeling anyway lovely? I bet time is dragging for you isn’t it!! I hate the first 12 weeks, it felt like 9 months hahhaah!! I hope girl just so you can break the mould 🤭 I really thought we’d have a girl but I just can’t imagine it now I know he’s a little boy!!!! Mamas little man🥹 xxx

@Izzie94x apparently the female sperm are the strongest and the male the quickest, which is why ICSI babies are more often girls and IVF are boys. Tbf, I would be happy if it came out and it was a cat at this stage 😆
I am feeling better thank you and the nausea has def calmed down whilst I was suffering with the cold. Time is definitely dragging!!! One week and 3 days until the big scan and I’m petrified 😬x

I’m not sure if I’m just a clearly uneducated 29 yo, but I was up half the night worrying as I could have sworn my pee before bed was slightly red!!!!! Only to figure out 2.5 hours later of Googling and tossing and turning it was the beetroot I had at dinner 😂😂 just fyi!!! I can’t believe I never knew that lol! But I had a big ol salad with so much of it. That was a stressful 11pm-1:30am, even with little man wriggling away🫣😂

@Izzie94x Hi lovely. Yes the scan is tomorrow morning. I’ve been trying my best to forget about it but every time I remember, my stomach does a flip and I feel 🤢 I will definitely update you both ☺️

Haha! That’s very funny about the beetroot 🤭 not funny that you were worrying tho 🥺 so glad you’re feeling him wriggling around now! How’s your bump looking? 🥰 x

@Koalie ! Eeeek big scan tomorrow. Everything’s going to be great. When did you last have a scan?

Im 18 weeks on Sunday. Bump just popped out (think you are bigger second pregnancy). Can’t feel much movement (the occasional flicker) but I have anterior placenta which means it cushions the movement. Had my midwife Appt the other day and heartbeat was all good!

@Strawberry08 my last scan was at 9 weeks, so bloody ages ago and I’m very aware that anything could have happened since then 🥺 especially with our track record !

Ooooo how exciting that your bump has arrived ☺️ I have a friend who already has one at 16 weeks (first pregnancy as well) so it’s so different for everyone! How are you feeling otherwise? Have all your symptoms gone in the second tri? Xx

@Koalie but nine weeks is past the point where all the important stuff happens and the risk of issues after that point is low so I have no doubt tomorrow is going to be great.

I’m feeling okay thank you! Most symptoms gone, occasional nausea still and needing to wee all the time, especially at night. I’m suffering really badly with pelvic pain (SPD), which I expected as I had it really bad last time. But other than that I’m okay and cracking through the weeks. A few more weeks until I am halfway and can start counting down!

@Strawberry08 thank you! I can’t quite believe it… keep staring at the picture, just shocked that it’s our baby. I’ve seen so many of these scan pics being shared over the last couple of years and always wondered whether we would ever have our own to share … it’s a bit surreal tbh xx

@Koalie I love this so much. Honestly it will never feel real until baby is in your arms. I remember with my last pregnancy after 4 miscarriages I genuinely couldn’t accept that I was going to end up with a baby at the end. But you will, so get shopping!!

@Strawberry08 🤭 I don’t think I dare shop or do anything until after the 20 week scan. We are currently very focused on finishing our house renovation and buying furniture for a 1st July move in, then we’re going to Cornwall for a week and then we’ll be 20 weeks just after we get back so that’s when mission get baby bits will begin 😁 xx

@Koalie aw so exciting! You have so much fun stuff coming this year. We did the same when I was pregnant with my first. We moved into a new house when I was about 5 months pregnant and then he came along. How are you doing?

I have my 20 week scan Friday next week (at 20+5) so that’s exciting. I can feel little one kicking away. Only in one place (bottom left of tummy) and only in certain positions. I can feel a few times each day so it’s really reassuring.

@Koalie eeeek, congratulations my lovely 🥹💓 what an amazing feeling!! How are you feeling now? Are you guys going to find out the sex!? Eeeek!!!! So so happy for you!!!!

@Strawberry08 I’m all good here thanks my lovely!!! This heat is a bit much lol (and I’m a sun worshipper!!!) the fans are my best friend, and actualy going into the office rather than WFH just for some air con😂😂 I’m 25+1 already. It’s so surreal!!! How am I already over half way!

Eeeek and how are you already nearly half way!! My goodness me. That first trimester is such a drag and then it just flies by😅 oh so amazing. I love the little kicks 🥹 I can feel little man all the time now, and then worry when I don’t haha classic! Still absolutely loving every moment of being pregnant. But ask me again in July when it’s even warmer 🥵 xx

@Izzie94x i’m actually really super struggling with the heat. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I’m just constantly feeling sick and hot.
wow that’s gone so fast hasn’t it? You’re nearly in third trimester and before you know it you will be welcoming little man into the world! Ah it’s lovely you’re enjoying it. I find pregnancy really rough. Probably the pelvic pain doesn’t help and general bleh feeling but worth it for the end goal!

@Strawberry08 get yourself a little pool, and 2 fans hahaha! Lots of flannels and cold water. I’m such a sun worshipper and the hotter the better usually for me, so I’m managing just ok in the shade and with fans😅 but I’m a little weirdo like that hahaha!

It’s honestly flown by SO fast. It’s so scary. I’m trying to enjoy every moment not knowing if we’ll get to do it again 🥹 I’m so sorry you have a bit of a shit time being pregnant, and in this heat it definitely doesn’t help!!!! I’ve been so lucky and really appreciate not everyone has it as easy and lovely. Are you guys definitely set on a name? We’re struggling! I keep changing my mind😂😂 We’re 90% sent on a J name, I love Jasper, but my OH loves Jaxyn- but I just think that’s a bit too “chavy” for me (sorry if you have any Jaxyns in your family haha!) but it became so popular from Jax on Sons of Anarchy! Xx

I’m doing OK, nausea has nearly gone and I’m back to being able to exercise again which is nice :) I am 14+2 and can definitely start to see a little tummy coming, even in the mornings it’s there 😬

@Strawberry08 exciting about your upcoming scan !!! Have you started buying all your baby bits yet? ☺️ Sorry you’re finding pregnancy rough - I have felt the same, I don’t like not feeling 100% myself and being hungry all the time is not fun, as I feel a bit out of control.

@Izzie94x cant believe you’re nearly in your 3rd trimester ! J names are the best (mine starts with J 😏) I love Jasper and Jax but have to agree with you on Jaxyn … not my fave. My brother has just had his second baby a few days ago and they’re still chopping and changing their mind … waiting for them to decide so I can send a card haha. In answer to your question, yes we will find out the sex but not until after our 20 week scan. ☺️

Hey!! Sorry I missed your last message. All went perfect thank you, everything looks as it should. Baby measuring huge (had this with my last one!). My husband is very tall but I’m only 5’4 so don’t know why these babies are so big! But I had to have a c section last time so helps me know that’s the right decision again.

aw how far along are you now? Don’t be scared, the risks are super low now, everything’s going to be perfect.

@Strawberry08 awww little bubba! He’s getting so big. I’m 5 ft 3 - my husband isn’t super tall, he’s 5 ft 11 but he has got a massive head which scares me a bit 😂 I will be 16 + 3 tomorrow for my scan. I’m sure it will all be fine, I can definitely see my tummy growing which is of some reassurance I guess ☺️ how are you feeling now? Is your pelvic pain any better? 🥴 x
