ICSI January 2023

[Infertilitylife]

Hello,

My partner and I need IVF due to MFI. We are hoping to start treatment in January 2023.

I had my fertility ultrasound scans today and these are my results:

AFC -

Left Ovary - 13 follicles
Right Ovary - 14 follicles

My Endo thickness was 7.3mm (cycle day 10).

I have no masses, cysts, fluid etc - everything looked smooth and normal.
How do these results seem?

I was also told I have a retroverted uterus - will this affect IVF?

@Autumbreeze sorry, forgot to ask.. so when will you start stims?
I'm on the long protocol seeingly.. I know I'm on the antagonist protocol as it's all over my paperwork.

@Sj2505 we started stims last night. So on CD2. We did antagonist last time... this one is soooo much quicker. About 14 days of injections I think depending on how my scans go. On CD6 we add in the next lot of injections which will be 20th Jan. So I'll be doing four then. Then egg collection planned from the 27th Jan.

I've been in the bath loads today, I had a hot water bottle on my belly and back at the moment and yes a little ball is my go to as well. It sucks. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better now. It's not nice!

@Autumbreeze oh yes, I do remember you saying now. Sorry, I find it difficult keeping up with where everyone's at! We need little signatures which we can update or something haha.

Wow, it'll go so fast for you! You'll have egg collection and won't have even started down reg, crazy how different it can be for people.

I was up super early with pains but I dragged myself in to work and I do feel a bit better now. Just got back home and going to try and eat something and hope it don't kick off again. How you feeling?

@Autumbreeze keeping busy must help then. Glad you're starting to feel better. How are the meds going?

I'm ok thank you, nothing new to report, I'll be having a slow couple of weeks now!

@Sj2505 feel fine on the meds, but the clexane really stings! I had to do it last time to! Not a fan at all 😂 I am a baby with the needles though, DH does them all.

What meds do they have you on? We have different this time to last time. Yeah we all have to TRY and take it easy! Easier said that done though. After transfer in tempted to try and book some time off if I can. We are a small team though and only three people can be off at a time, so we will see.

@Autumbreeze my OH asked if he can do the first one, and he really wants to do the trigger shot too. He'll end up doing more, but I think those ones are important to him.

I've got so many different meds, I don't remember having such a variety last time!!

Norethisterone - I know this is what I start on CD19
Prednisolone - I know this is for luteal support due to my pelvic pain
Cyclogest - the delightful pessaries

What do they have you on this time?
Would be good to take some time off if you can I think. Even just a few days, you might be grateful to the distraction after that haha. I'm quite fortunate that I work from home and I'm the only one in my department so I manage the workload myself.

I had my scan this morning, I’m officially down regulated. Ovaries were perfect, lining was 2.7. They gave me 20 more needles and a vial of buserelin. I’m waiting for them to call me later about stims! I’m feeling pretty excited now about getting to next steps!

@Lauralozzle that's great news!! What are the next steps for you now then? Will you now just pick up with stims as normal?

@Sj2505 Yes i think so. Hopefully I’ll know more when they call me, but should be okay to start stims now.

I’m quite looking forward to it, as the ovaleap is taking quite a lot of space in the fridge!!

@Lauralozzle hahaha, so is mine! It's taking residence for about another month too!

The clinic called back.

So, I start stims tomorrow, then I have a scan next Thursday to see how I’m getting along!

Looking at egg collection end of January/beginning of February depending on how I respond! Hopefully I respond well!

@Sj2505 ah that's a lot of meds. I need to look at mine as I've forgot what they are called. But I pick up more when I go in to get my trigger shot. I've been advised to ask for lubion as well, as I didn't get that last time.

Period is still going but a lot better now, thank god!!

Hi everyone!

Back after a little break because I was panicking and didn't want to be a negative nancy on the thread! I was worried that my cycle was going to be cancelled because I didn't respond to stims at first so I had a couple of extra days and finally things turned around. Tonight is the trigger shot and ER booked in for Friday morning. 😊

Two weeks today until I start down regulation.

First Stims injection done! It wasn’t bad at all. How long did it take before you all felt the effects of stims. Like uncomfortable/heavy ovaries feeling. I’m not looking forward to that!
