Hello,

My partner and I need IVF due to MFI. We are hoping to start treatment in January 2023.

I had my fertility ultrasound scans today and these are my results:

AFC -

Left Ovary - 13 follicles
Right Ovary - 14 follicles

My Endo thickness was 7.3mm (cycle day 10).

I have no masses, cysts, fluid etc - everything looked smooth and normal.
How do these results seem?

I was also told I have a retroverted uterus - will this affect IVF?

@Brown269 my clinic uses Norethisterone for the down regulation.
Yes that's right, whilst you're taking it it keeps your hormone levels high so you don't get your period, and supposedly when you stop, the sudden drop makes AF appear! I took it for my IVF, but only two tablets for 5 days and I got AF about 4 days later.
I've taken Provera before to bring on AF, which is pretty much the same thing and the first time I got AF around 5 days after, but the second time I got AF 4 days into the meds.
Because I'm so overdue and I've been getting signs it's on its way it might come early. I've started spotting brown a little bit this afternoon, and I'm a bit achey in my abdomen, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's here by the end of the week.

Ah I'm pleased the break worked well for you. I was gutted to begin with, but then with how unwell I was I was grateful for it.

just wondering if anyone has any success stories around first ICSI cycle failing (clinic have said sperm quality was very poor - out of 13 mature eggs, only 1 made it to day 3 which we decided to transfer but it failed) but having a better or successful 2nd round?

we are just waiting for my period to arrive to start meds for our 2nd cycle and I suddenly feel panicked and can’t stop thinking that the exact same thing will happen again. Since first failed round husband has been on impryl and better diet so hoping that has helped a bit and clinic are doing AOA with ICSI this time but just can’t stop worrying about the outcome being the same again.

@Jcl22 how long has your partner been taking impryl? We’ve had to wait 3 months with DH taking proxeed, as it takes that long for it to have any effect.

I don’t have a positive story though, sorry, we start our next round next month if my thyroid is down.

@Lauralozzle by the time we get to the stage he will need to give his sample he will have been taking them for 13/14 weeks so just over 3 months. Really hoping it makes a difference!

Oooh guys... I've been trying to catch up. No news from me at the moment... we still need to look at loans 🤦🏼‍♀️ but my mam and step dad have kindly given us £5,000 to help so we just have to look for the rest. We've had a consultation with the private clinic and have all the consent forms ready to go. Quoted £5,500 for a two multi cycle and £2,500 for meds! There are a lot of meds on the list. Hoping to look at loans this week and get things moving. I've decided August now hopefully as July is a very busy month.

@Autumbreeze it really is! I did it all ready to do the actual ivf, then knowing it would be another couple of months keeping it up for the FET just seemed like too much to me 🙈 I’ll get back on it when it comes to June 🤞🏼😂

Hey ladies! Not much news from me. AF is toying with my emotions this weekend. One second I'm spotting, the next I'm in full flow and in the next breath is stopping. I'm going to call the clinic tomorrow, I think they will scan me to check my lining.
I'm in lots of pain today though, so thought AF was locked in this morning, but it's disappearing again (there's usually no denying it as I've always had heavy periods).

Just looking for peoples opinions. Had a failed transfer in April (knew before HCG test because period came - 5th April). I am aware that particular ‘period’ was considered a withdrawal bleed and was told next period could be delayed due to drugs and body regulating itself again however my period is currently 3 days late and my husband and I did continue to try this past month. Would it be silly to take a test in the next couple of days? The clinic said if it was delayed it would be because of the 1 prostap injection I had but I had this on 6th March so over 8 weeks ago?

@Sj2505 Aorry you’re having such a hard time (again!) 😞 hopefully the clinic will scan you and be able to give you a clearer picture
of what’s going on!

@Jcl22 I’d take a test to be sure. My cycle went straight back to normal after my withdrawal bleed. You never know!

Had a scan this morning as period kept stopping, spotting, light bleeding.. I didn't know if I'd started or not, which days counted and which didn't!

They needed my lining to be <5mm and it was 3.9 🤩

I took my first meds when I got home! Next scan on Thursday 18th and providing my lining is nice and thick I'll have transfer on Thursday 25th, which happens to be my sons birthday too 😍

We had our FET appointment today, we should be starting middle of June when AF comes 🤞🏼
They told us we have 3 x 5BB embryos and 1 x 2BB which I’m a little concerned about, the 2BB was only just good enough to freeze and the 5BB are classed as ‘good’ but not great, so I just hope they’re all little fighters 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Brown269 that's great news. The 5BBs sound promising!
I don't know if you're on tiktok but if you are search 5BB embryo, there'll be videos of peoples stories with those grades - that's what I did with mine. I have two 4AA and two 4AB.

@Sj2505 You must be over the moon with those,4AA is the top grade 😍 congratulations!
I had a dream last night that the embryologist told me that 5BB’s are always boys 😂 I think I’m going a little stir crazy! Haha

I’m not on TikTok but have searched on here and have seen a lot of success stories so 🤞🏼🤞🏼 for my little BB’s!

How is everyone?

I’ve just heard back from GP. My thyroid prescription has been increased again. I just hope this is sorted as soon as possible. Still hoping to start norethisterone June but it’ll be down to medichecks result end of the month!

I have my day 10 scan on Thursday, hoping to get the go ahead for transfer next week 🤞🏼
