Hello,

My partner and I need IVF due to MFI. We are hoping to start treatment in January 2023.

I had my fertility ultrasound scans today and these are my results:

AFC -

Left Ovary - 13 follicles
Right Ovary - 14 follicles

My Endo thickness was 7.3mm (cycle day 10).

I have no masses, cysts, fluid etc - everything looked smooth and normal.
How do these results seem?

I was also told I have a retroverted uterus - will this affect IVF?
Thank you

Thank you, @Autumbreeze I hope you get lucky

User491 · 05/02/2023 09:49

Morning everyone, just catching up,

@MsSandyToes how was today’s test? And hope the house hunting went well? I wouldn't worry about the cramping so much, I was completely the same and I think the progesterone caused a lot of it. I'm still really worried as my clinic pulled me off the progesterone as soon as I had the positive test, I'm still thinking that it was a withdrawal bleed I had from them. I got my level checked last week and it was 12, I just hope it's ok, my clinic don't seem concerned about the levels at all.
So pleased that you are more reassured too, hopefully it all works out for us all 😊

@Lauralozzle so pleased for you! Congratulations to you and @Autumbreeze for being PUPO 🥳

How are you both feeling today?

@Tamtam123 sorry to hear your news,
We had 6 eggs, 5 fertilised and we ended up with only one top quality 5 day one to transfer. Fingers crossed that frozen one is the one 🤞🏻

@zarascan47 good luck for tomorrow!

I've had a notification from my Apple Watch today that my resting heart rate has gone up 10bpm, for the last 10 days... been checking this too myself, hoping that it's a good sign, I'm gonna be counting down the days until Thursday now 😅

Lauralozzle · 05/02/2023 09:52

Just had an update on the remaining one, it hasn’t made it, so nothing to freeze.

Oh well. I’m surprisingly ok about it.

User491 · 05/02/2023 09:54

@Lauralozzle aww so sorry, just keep positive, at least you had this one to transfer and hopefully this is the one 🤞🏻🥰

Lauralozzle · 05/02/2023 09:58

@User491 Hopefully your resting heart rate is a good sign. Is your next scan Thursday?

I’m ok. I know the chances are not great with a poor quality blast, it wouldn’t have been good enough to freeze, but they can implant so I’m holding onto that.

I feel fine. Two weeks to go either way. I was quite crampy last night, I’m guessing that’s the after effects of the transfer.

User491 · 05/02/2023 10:04

@Lauralozzle bless you, I was quite bloated and crampy for days after transfer, I couldn't really explain how I felt. I also felt drained, but all the hormones, and how physically and emotionally draining the whole process is takes it's toll. Hope you have a chilled day planned.
I have everything crossed for you, on an app I have, there are far more success stories from a lower quality blast than a top quality one, so you still have a chance ☺️ when is your test date?

Yes I'm back on Thursday, hopefully get some more good news 🤞🏻

Lauralozzle · 05/02/2023 10:49

@User491 Good luck for Thursday! Hopefully more good news!

It feels a bit like an anti-climax, to be honest. I just get on with my life for the next two weeks and eat/drink like I’m pregnant. It all feels a bit bizarre.

Autumbreeze · 05/02/2023 11:08

@User491 I'm ok, was really uncomfortable last night but a bit better today. A little crampy but ok otherwise. I've not told anyone we had transfer done... I don't really want to tell work... but I think I'm going to have to. We test on the 18th Feb.

@Lauralozzle sorry to hear about the other one. I think we will be in the same boat to to be honest. It's going to be a long two weeks, is your test day the 18th to? My friend had to do hers 10 days. Will you test early?

Lauralozzle · 05/02/2023 11:25

@Autumbreeze Test day is 17th. I suspect that’s because it’s a Friday so there’s more staff! Saturday looks like Skelton shift!

Lauralozzle · 05/02/2023 11:27

@Autumbreeze pressed send to early!

I might test on the 11th. I think that’s when I’d expect to see my period (2 weeks after trigger). I’d be 7dp5dt then so it could show up.

Tamtam123 · 05/02/2023 11:35

@User491 thank you so much for your kind words, hoping as well that, we won't give up on our 3 days little one until we get a negative when we transfer, hopefully, it is the one. I hope you've got a good scan, sending good vibes.

Sorry @Lauralozzle about this news, who would say that this process would be so hard? hope your transfer will work as well. x

Autumbreeze · 05/02/2023 11:36

@Lauralozzle it's hard to wait isn't it? Last time I did test a day early. I'll try and hold out if I can.... if I can 😂

User491 · 05/02/2023 11:43

@Lauralozzle thank you 😊

I tested 5dp 😅 only coz someone on another forum got their positive, and it make me so worried! I then didn't test until 8dp which was a day before my OTD.
The wait is so hard 🙈 defo try and hold on if you both can 😊

@Tamtam123 thank you 😊
Have you got a rough idea of a transfer date?

@Autumbreeze hope you have a quiet chill day today!
It will be difficult when you have a very hands on job, you just have to do what you feel best. I think next time if this doesn't work out, I will keep it more to ourselves, but at the same time we've had really amazing support from people when everything has been so up and down.

MsSandyToes · 05/02/2023 12:04

@Autumbreeze and @Lauralozzle congratulations on being PUPO! 🥳 so happy for both of you and I will keep everything crossed for you both. Sorry about your other embryo @Lauralozzle I was exactly the same. How were your others @Autumbreeze?

@User491 thank you my digital today says 2-3 and my FRER is much stronger so I'm feeling good atm. 🤞 not long to wait for your scan now. ☺️ I will call the clinic and try and book mine in tomorrow.

@Sj2505 house hunting was good thank you. I also love being nosy! We're going to put a low offer in on Monday 😬 how are you feeling?

Tamtam123 · 05/02/2023 12:13

So good @MsSandyToes fingers crossed.
@User491 I need to have a myomectomy before the transfer, unfortunately, I was planning to freeze it all before it so we can just transfer after recovering from the surgery, so we would transfer in 6 months. At this time anyway, we may do some extra texts on our known donor to make sure he has no DNA fragmentation, so I hope everything is OK.

Lauralozzle · 05/02/2023 12:17

@Tamtam123 Thank you. I do Hope your day 3 will be successful.

This process is very tough. Although I’m ok about the one that didn’t make it. They said yesterday it has a very long way to go so I think it was probably quite behind with zero chance of going anywhere. It means no FET if this doesn’t work, which I’m ok with. I have so many questions anyway.

The appalling fertilisation rate has got me wondering if we have a dna frag issue? DH tests are always fine, but frag wouldn’t show up on a normal SA.

Or is the fertilisation rate down to my eggs? In which case, before another round I’m going to have to go all out on my diet and take another look at supplements. I’m taking pregnacare max as suggested by consultant but I’m wondering if I need to look at others like zita west or something. The thought of eating like a body building rabbit for up to 5 months is quite frankly depressing! But it’s one area I can change. I do eat far too much sugar when I’m stressed!

Or was I on too high a dose of stims? I only stimmed for 9 days and was ‘fully cooked’ lol 😂 would a slightly lower dose, but longer period have produced better quality eggs? I only have one working ovary do my numbers will never be high.

No point asking these questions at the moment, but I’m ready to ask them should I need to.

@Autumbreeze The wait is going to be rubbish I expect. I don’t think I can hold out until 17th! Seems like an age away!

@User491 I’ll try and hold out as long as I can….

Lauralozzle · 05/02/2023 12:18

@MsSandyToes Those tests are looking good!!

Tamtam123 · 05/02/2023 12:30

@Lauralozzle I am sorry, I really hope it sticks, you never know, it is now in the best place where it should be to have a chance.

I know how you feel, I am taking Pregnacare conception and also vitamin D (this was recommended earlier because of the fibroid). I am not sure if this is relevant to you, but I did mild IVF, stims for 11 days, EG day 14, 150 Gonal F and Cetrotide, however, having all arrested on day 5 was discouraging. The clinic mentioned the egg quality but I feel I still have a lot of questions. Next time I won't do mild, but perhaps, it works for others.

Definitely do a DNA fragmentation test, if your husband has that there are ways to improve the embryo quality for next time. All the best.

Tamtam123 · 05/02/2023 12:37

@Lauralozzle someone in Reddit mentioned that her embryos kept arresting as well, so using Omnitrope or HGH (Human growth hormone) in their protocols did a difference, others say some embryos do not do good in the lab so they did fresh day 3 transfers. In case you could speak to your clinic.

Vil · 05/02/2023 18:09

Hi ladies

best of luck to all of you

I’m in my first round for our first baby, I’m 33 and 10 days post transfer, I haven’t tested as I’m too nervous.

I have 3 extra frozen embryos which I know is very luck but started with 20 eggs and 11 fertilised, so we dropped after that!

this is a grade b, I’m not really feeling any symptoms and not feeling hugely positive or confident sadly but secretly hoping we are lucky enough for a first round success after 2 long years of no luck.

wishing you all the best

Autumbreeze · 05/02/2023 18:19

Hi @Vil best of luck. What day are you testing on? I know it's hard. Just did our second round. Had transfer yesterday. Are you private or NHS?

Vil · 05/02/2023 18:22

Hi @Autumbreeze my official test day is Thursday but I’ll be in the office afterwards so can’t stomach doing it before work so will probably be Friday!

Im doing privately how about you ? Can I ask whether you were able to try again in your next cycle ? Or had to take a break?

itd so tough to wait the full 14 days xxxx

Autumbreeze · 05/02/2023 18:38

@Vil I don't blame you for waiting. Mine is on a Saturday thankfully. I have to ring the clinic on Monday to tell Ty em my result. Dreading going through all that again if I'm honest!

We are NHS and this is our last go. Not sure if we would go private... it's a lot of money isn't it? So we would have to save for a while.

Lauralozzle · 05/02/2023 19:07

@vil Good luck! I am also hoping we have first round good luck 🤞

@Autumbreeze I’ve settled on getting a loan if we have to. I’m not getting any younger, and with only one working ovary, I anticipate time is not on my side. Probably stick with the clinic though, and go for a care package which is a bit like access fertility packages and get a multi cycle. It will cost a bloody fortune though but I don’t want to give up yet.

Autumbreeze · 05/02/2023 19:15

@Lauralozzle fingers crossed you won't need to worry about that and this will be the ONE! but if it's not I know what you mean. We used CRGW before and they were really good so we would consider using them but I can stick with the one we are using now in the NHS and pay private and it's a lot cheaper than CRGW. I think it'll be a conversation depending how this goes! We already have two loans so don't really want to take out another one. But I know what you mean with time is ticking!
