[Infertilitylife]

Hello,

My partner and I need IVF due to MFI. We are hoping to start treatment in January 2023.

I had my fertility ultrasound scans today and these are my results:

AFC -

Left Ovary - 13 follicles
Right Ovary - 14 follicles

My Endo thickness was 7.3mm (cycle day 10).

I have no masses, cysts, fluid etc - everything looked smooth and normal.
How do these results seem?

I was also told I have a retroverted uterus - will this affect IVF?

@MsSandyToes did you have Norethisterone, or others? Did you get many side effects? I'm only on them for 5 days, so I'm not expecting anything too drastic.

Joys of dogs waking me up at silly O'clock and now I can't go back to sleep 😂 I've decided to book half day off today as this week has been hard due to short staff and I wanted to chill out before tomorrow so getting the first half done then walking the dogs and hopefully chill.

@MsSandyToes I am doing the same as you, Cyclogest 400 twice a day. Yes I know... why do we do it to ourselves... but we can't help it when it's something we want so much. Did you test again this morning?

@Sj2505 how are you feeling after meds last night? Still early days I know and like you said hopefully only doing a few days hopefully you wont get any side effects.

How are you feeling about it @Lauralozzle ?

I'm taking three tablets a day, so although I'm only a day and a bit in, I'm 5 tablets down.
I don't know if it's bad timing or the meds but I'm feeling quite down, cried for an hour on the phone to my mum! A couple of close relatives have fallen out and I'm very much in the middle trying to keep the peace, so it's probably more that than anything I guess!

@Sj2505 today has been a nightmare... I've been so anxious and grumpy! 😂 I was moody in work but hid in the office all morning. And been grumpy with the husband.

Sorry you've been feeling really emotional to! Hope your feeling a bit better now. This whole thing is one big emotional ride!

@Sj2505 That’s tough, I hate family fall out dramas. I’m always stuck in the middle of them, not wanting to take sides. I bet it’s that which is making you feel a bit down. Hopefully things sort themselves out soon.

I’m ok. I’m hopeful but also trying to stay grounded. This might sound like utter madness but I have a plan for tomorrow. It might sound like I’m not being hopeful at all, but it’ll (hopefully) stop me wallowing if the news isn’t good. I hope it will be, but there’s enough threads with 5 fertilised eggs with only 1 blast, my chances are not great, statistically speaking with only 2 fertilised eggs. I’m really, really hoping for one. Just one. It only takes one.

I have to be up for 6:30 am tomorrow for the pessaries. I’ll take that, then I’m going to pop all my IVF stuff, meds, pessaries in a box and pop it in the cupboard under the stairs. Easy to get to, but out of sight before the phone call. If it’s not positive I’ll be upset and angry and I won’t want to see it. I have a nice wine collection, I’ll pop a nice bottle on the table that I fully I tend to drink that evening if no transfer is taking place. I’ll then buy some lovely’s goats cheese (with the rind, the kind you’re not allowed!) and have a goats cheese and roasted pepper sandwich for lunch. Maybe go all out and get some pate too and cured hams I wouldn’t be allowed! I basically want to have something to look forward to whichever way it goes.

Obviously if transfer is a go, the wine goes back, the fizzero comes out and I’ll stick to the hard cheese lol!!

@Lauralozzle that plan sounds perfect!!! And yessss it only takes one!!! Like I said... quality over quantity any day! I have everything crossed you'll get your transfer tomorrow and hopefully one for the freezer to 🤞🏻
I know how you feel though.... I'm like what if we go there and then there's nothing... so I really do get it! It's going to be a long night is all I can say!... Remember last time I only had one and that little one almost made it. I think I was so stressed out last time as I had family stuff going on it didn't help at all... this time if we are lucky to transfer I am going to try and be as zen as I can! Got awful period pains though... which is making me really paranoid that I'll be out before I start... I know the pessaries can give you cramps but I don't remember them this bad last time and I'm only in two a day this time.

@Lauralozzle good luck for tomorrow i have 2 fertilised made to day 2 with 4 cells so on track so far im booked in for a transfer monday but obviously anything can happen between now and then and cause i only have 2 its so nerve wracking but trying to stay busy work has been helping with that

@Autumbreeze I’ve been cramping a lot. Exactly like period pains. Must be pessaries though because considering the trigger shot, I wouldn’t be due until end of next week. They are really sharp sometimes though. My boobs are getting so sore too.

It’s going to be a very long night! When OH goes to practice tonight I might pop to the shops, to fill the time! Need some butter anyway…. (It’s moments like these I’ll end up in Asda and come home with clothes lol) 😂

@zarascan47 Fingers crossed for you! It’s so hard! I know exactly how you feel. Hopefully you’ll have some good news come Monday! 🤞 I’m glad work has helped keep you busy.

I’ve been so rubbish at work this week. Got fuck all done. I’m hoping they don’t notice!

@Lauralozzle that sounds like an ideal plan to me! And great idea to keep you busy tonight. Maybe after your retail therapy you could get especially snuggled up and start a film. If you find a semi-boring easy watch perhaps you'll fall asleep too.

@Autumbreeze sorry you've been feeling on edge too. You have a lot on your mind right now! Hopefully tomorrow you'll feel calmer. Tomorrow is the final hurdle! All you can do after that is wait.

I've told OH all about the family drama today.. he gave me a really good pep talk about not taking on their stress, we have more important things to worry about in our own lives. I've been trying so hard to keep my stress levels to an absolute minimum!
I'm out tomorrow night with a few friends for a ladies night.. stripper and a drag queen! Can't wait. I'm driving of course but I'm sure that will perk me up 💃🏻

So, I didn’t buy any clothes, but I did get quite a lot of food. To be fair, the fridge was looking bare…

It's so so nerve wracking, but completely worth it in the long run. Even if everything went wrong for me now, I would be completely devastated, but it's gave me a bit of hope that one day it will work out. I've never In my life had a positive test, and in a weird way I could take a little bit of comfort in that. Every step has its pros and cons... but we have all got this ❤️

@Sj2505 so sorry your having family issues, your OH is completely right, you need to think about yourselves and you don't need the stress. Similar things happened in my family while going through this, and for the first time ever, instead of being piggy in the middle, I took a step back.. easier said than done though! tomorrow will be just what you need to take your mind off it all 😊

@User491 I feel exactly the same as you, we have more hope now for sure. Before this I was advised I might need to consider donor eggs and now I'm much more positive that we will have a child from my eggs one day 🤞

@Sj2505o Sorry you're having a rough time. Try not to allow anyone else add to the stress that is already IVF. I have been emotional the whole way through on all these hormones so you are definitely not alone.

@zarascan47 that sounds really promising I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Today I'm off house hunting with my DP trying not to worry about the continuing cramps I've got. Yesterdays cheapie test looked stronger but I've run out of other tests. I've ordered more! Official test date is tomorrow and my DP has banned me from testing today 🙃 so fingers crossed for a stronger good looking double line tomorrow 🤞

So, I have a blast! It’s a low quality blast, but a blast all the same!

The other one is behind, so they’re leaving it another day.

I'm feeling better this morning. I'm off to get my hair trimmed and curled for tonight this afternoon. I always have to pop to Tesco and try to fit in time to gel my nails - so hopefully today will fly by!!

@Sj2505 I got no sleep lol. Woke up at 3:05, couldn’t go back to sleep, decided F1 usually sends me to sleep (the sound of the cars) so I went downstairs to watch f1 channel. Worked a bit, got about an hour and a half. Then I cleaned the front room. It was a pretty eventful morning, realised my phone had 9% battery so put it on charge at about 7 so it would be charged for call at 9:00 from embryologist. Power cut ten minutes later for about an hour. Not what I needed! Enjoy tonight! You need it!

@MsSandyToes I had soft cheese with roasted peppers instead. Think that’s ok. Wine went back though. I did get the fizzero out though! Might open that with dinner. Enjoy house hunting! I’m sure the cramps are perfectly normal. The progesterone is basically giving me period like cramps all day!

Proceedure was a bit uncomfortable, I definitely felt like a pop when the catheter went through into the womb. We have a picture when the embryo went into the womb and a picture of the embryo.

I’m much more positive today. Our fertilisation rate might be shocking but we can (just about) make a blast! If poor fertilisation is the cause of our infertility then I might have never had a blast naturally. This could be furthest we’ve ever been!

I am so happy that you have a blast, @zarascan47 I hope you get lucky with this one and hopefully the other catch up :) you just need a little bit of magic.

I've just finished my first IVF/ICSI round and unfortunately, it hasn't gone as planned, perhaps someone can tell me about their experience or some advice.

We had 8 embryos on day 3 all grade 1 and 1 grade 2, so we were very hopeful, the clinic froze one of the best ones on day 3, however, on day 5 none of the other 7 made it :( is this common? I was doing mild IVF and we were using donor sperm, his density fell from 50 to 8 as it was a frozen sample and that is why we had to go with ICSI, I am worried about this falling in quality. We have a little hope in our little 8 cells bundle that we will transfer, however, we feel a bit down and worried why none of the others would have made it to blast.

Do you have any advice on what to ask the clinic or has anyone passed through something similar? Has any one succeeded at a day 3 frozen transfer?

I have 2x 3day 10 cell embryos one a b and one a c cant believe it .wont hear until monday now as clinic closed tomorrow and transfer at 11:30 monday so fingers crossed i hear nothing and it goes ahead

@Tamtam123 we just did our second round. The first round we only had two eggs and did a three day transfer with the one that made it. We used frozen sperm to as DH has MFI. I'm sorry you've had a tough time.

Had transfer. We had a good grade blast apparently. The other three are still a little slow, still on day three. They are going to give them a chance but he was pretty honest saying they weren't looking great. So looks like a little one, same as last time. Hoping for the best for this one. Doctor but me on clexane and Lubion as well now (Lubion at my request). The whole team was amazing though!
