ICSI January 2023

Hello,

My partner and I need IVF due to MFI. We are hoping to start treatment in January 2023.

I had my fertility ultrasound scans today and these are my results:

AFC -

Left Ovary - 13 follicles
Right Ovary - 14 follicles

My Endo thickness was 7.3mm (cycle day 10).

I have no masses, cysts, fluid etc - everything looked smooth and normal.
How do these results seem?

I was also told I have a retroverted uterus - will this affect IVF?
Thank you

Bloody hell @User491 I hope you get some answers soon! I bet your head it all over the place 🙁 I have everything crossed for you though! I bet you can't wait for Thursday just so you can try and relax a little!

@Sj2505 that is a silly thing to say! It's still an essential op for him to have for you guys to hopefully have a family! People just don't get it do they? Like this journey is hard enough as it is without people trying to make it more difficult! How you feeling today? 5 day count down! DH has not been to any of my scans.... no point really as you are in and out. You'll be fine!

Did the tigger shot and last injections tonight!! DH was playing about a bit.... and he almost messed up the trigger so I was a big annoyed at him. He's like a child himself sometimes 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 can't wait to get Monday over with now!!

Lauralozzle · 29/01/2023 09:51

@User491 This is such a horrible roller-coaster for you! It’s the limbo that’s hard, not knowing what’s really happening. Hopefully you’ll get answers on Thursday.

Trigger done last night! My stomach is so sore today from all the injections! But at least I have an injection free day today!

Lauralozzle · 29/01/2023 09:57

@Sj2505 Not long now!!!

@Autumbreeze Trigger done! How are you feeling? My DH can be a bit if a child himself. Though in a I want all the old star war toys that are in a charity shop window! Anything to do with Star Wars he regresses into a five year old haha 😂

He’s a lot more confident with injections now and as a consequence it hurts a bit more cause he hasn’t been as gentle! I find the buserelin really stung after a while, it was better when he very slowly injected the fluid in, cause he was bricking it, but he got all brave and did it quickly and jeez, ouch!

Autumbreeze · 29/01/2023 10:25

Same @Lauralozzle much more gentle at the start and now he's like just stabbing me 😂 but same as you... no more injections wooooop!

Aw bless you! I was tender last night but not to bad this morning! Good luck for tomorrow! Be thinking of you!! Just think by this time tomorrow we will both be done more or less.

User491 · 29/01/2023 15:58

Thanks everyone, it's hard as I'm wanting to be positive, but at the same time worried 🙈
Hopefully I'll get my bloods back by tomorrow night 🤞🏻

Sorry happy for you both @Autumbreeze @Lauralozzle hope you are both enjoying your injection free day and all set for tomorrow 🥳 how exciting 😊
Let us know how yous get on!

MsSandyToes · 29/01/2023 16:42

@user491 I have everything crossed for you for positive news! I'm so sorry you're having to go through this on top of everything else.

@Sj2505 My OTD is next Sunday the 5th of February. I'm not sure whetehr to test early or not. I have quite a lot of cramping (like period pains) and (sorry for tmi) a lot of discharge and sore boobs but I don't know whether that is just the progesterone. I think it's too early now but I'm not sure if I can wait til Sunday either... Maybe I'll test Friday morning. I'm terrified of a negative but also realy want to know. 😬 What are you all planning or intending to do?

@Lauralozzle and @Autumbreeze I hope you are both enjoying your injection free day. Wishing you both the best of luck for tomorrow. I went out for a scrummy lunch afterwards and can highly recommend that! 😉😂

Autumbreeze · 29/01/2023 17:05

@User491 and @MsSandyToes thank you both! Well I was really unwell after the last egg collection so I'm going to be careful what I eat... 🤮 but after transfer we will prob pop for a nice meal. I went in for a minor op once as a day patient and was so unwell off the anaesthetic/sedation I had to stay in... so I told them that at my last egg collection so they gave me anti sickness injection when I work up and I felt amazing... then a few hours later it wore off and bloody hell I was so sick! I might ask for anti sickness tablets this time to.

@MsSandyToes I tested just a day early last time, I was to nervous to do any sooner! But I know what you mean... it's so tempting to test early. Maybe see if you can hold out for now.

@User491 hope you get some results tomorrow!! Been thinking about you! I know you just want answers now! I have everything crossed for you. X

Sj2505 · 30/01/2023 08:18

Good luck @Autumbreeze and @Lauralozzle for egg collection today ✨🤞🏼 hope you had a lovely injection free day yesterday!

@MsSandyToes I'm so impatient, it's going to be so hard to wait. Last time I had IVF I had to wait two weeks but tested after a week 🙈
It's so difficult to pin point symptoms isn't it. My early AF signs are pretty much the same as early pregnancy! I think now you only have to wait 9 days to test don't you?
I guess the longer you hold out the longer you stay blissfully ignorant in the PUPO bubble 🤩

@User491 good luck for HSG today! Couldn't imagine what you must be going through. But as the dr said keep positive, as you never know what's going on in there ✨✨

3 more days to go!! And hopefully a sofa update soon to keep me distracted!
Hope everyone's doing ok?

Lauralozzle · 30/01/2023 12:43

They got 8 eggs!

I’ve just got back home, eating a McDonald’s.

Egg collection wasn’t bad at all, I’m still pretty out of it, but I expected it to be much worse than it was.

Now to wait until tomorrow to find out how many fertilised!

Sj2505 · 30/01/2023 13:24

That's great news @Lauralozzle! Fx for lots of mingling over night. Are you IVF or ICSI?

MsSandyToes · 30/01/2023 13:38

@Lauralozzle yay! That's a great result! Rest and try and relax as much as is possible with the tense wait that now starts.

@Sj2505 my OTD is on Sunday the 5th so 5/6 days away... Not sure If I can make it that long. I might test on Friday... that will be 9dp5dt. 😬

Sj2505 · 30/01/2023 13:50

@MsSandyToes you're like me haha! I would do well to get to 9dp 😂
How are you feeling so far?

Lauralozzle · 30/01/2023 17:03

Thanks everyone. I still feel a bit out of it!

@Sj2505 We were down for split ivf/ICSI but because there were only 8 all were ICSI. I’m happy about that though, feel like maybe sperm meeting egg could be the issue so hopefully they fertilise.

Autumbreeze · 30/01/2023 17:21

Sorry for the late message! I've been pretty unwell today! Was sick as soon as I got home and been sleeping from 12pm until 5pm. Just woke up to be sick again but feel a little better now I've thrown up!

We got 6 eggs. Which I am so happy about after the last time! Also doing ICSI. Just have to wait for THE CALL tomorrow now 😬

I feel more sore this time than I did last time but I think they actually got my right ovary this time... that's the side I'm more uncomfortable. Just glad it's done now.

@Lauralozzle amazing news!! I bet your relived to! Now relax! Did you say your taking tomorrow off work?

Lauralozzle · 30/01/2023 17:27

@Autumbreeze 6 eggs is great!! I’m sorry you’ve been throwing up though, that sucks. Yes, I’ve got tomorrow off as well and then I’m back on Wednesday. I’m kinda waiting for horrendous cramps to start. I got really bad cramps after HSG.

Hope everyone is ok.

Autumbreeze · 30/01/2023 17:30

@Lauralozzle I'm back in Wednesday to! Looking forward to chilling out tomorrow. Hope you're ok and don't get the cramps.

Lauralozzle · 30/01/2023 18:01

@Autumbreeze Yes, tomorrow to rest should be good. I hope you stop feeling sick soon!

MsSandyToes · 30/01/2023 18:14

@Autumbreeze yay! well done! I'm sorry you've not been feeling good but I hope you feel much better ASAP.

I hope that both you and @Lauralozzle have a restful evening and get a super early call with positive news. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

@Sj2505 I'm like a mad women! I've spent the day scrolling through all the different progression photos I can find trying to dissuade myself from testing any earlier than Friday since a faint nearly there line is just as frustrating as the not knowing now I think.

I've got quite a lot of cramps but I know that the progesterone and also my endometrious can cause that too. I have also been monitoring my BBT. I know the progesterone can raise it but I had quite a dip which I'm hoping might have been implantation. I've been taking the progesterone since EC on the 20th. My BBT was lower the day before the transfer at 36.69, the day of the transfer I couldn't test as I was already up and driving to the clinic at the usual time and then the day after transfer on the 26th it dropped to 36.61. Then on the 27th it jumped to 37.04 and has spent the last two days at 39.94 so 🤞🤞🤞 Is anyone else tracking BBT? Is it relevant for an IVF cycle?

Sj2505 · 30/01/2023 18:15

@Autumbreeze yay! Great news! Hope you feel better soon and FX for a positive call tomorrow for you @Lauralozzle tomorrow ✨

Sj2505 · 30/01/2023 18:24

@MsSandyToes that looks promising. I was temping last year when we did two months of private donor cycles, it wasn't very reliable for me as I have PCOS and apparently it effects it and sure enough mine was only following a vague pattern. But I read all about the implantation dip 🤞🏼

The problem with symptoms is that it's different for everyone, so even reading other people's experiences isn't reliable. Some seem to have absolutely nothing, some feel exactly like AF is about to start and some get your very typical pregnancy symptoms right from the off.
I can't really remember what I was like last time, I remember nausea but no vomiting and extreme fatigue, but I get those before AF.. it was just worse in early pregnancy.

I think I'm going to have to keep myself very busy during the TWW!

User491 · 30/01/2023 19:07

@Lauralozzle @Autumbreeze aww that's amazing news about the eggs 🥳 fingers crossed for more good news tomorrow 😊

Sorry your feeling so sick @Autumbreeze, hope you feel better soon!

I was the same @Lauralozzle just not really with it and tired, i was crampy and sore but not majorly bad, I felt sorry for myself I think 🤣

@MsSandyToes I tested on 5dp and I will never do that again! Got my faint positive 8dp, your mind is just going crazy though isn't it, so really hard to resist. I used to temp and haven't for a long time, but so many say about the implantation dip, so really hope it's good news for you 🤞🏻

User491 · 30/01/2023 21:23

Todays levels come back...
Friday 130
Todays 278
Really hoping it's positive 🙏🙏🤞🏻

Lauralozzle · 30/01/2023 21:34

@User491 Fingers crossed for you! That’s positive news. is your scan Thursday?

Sj2505 · 31/01/2023 07:40

@User491 oh that's so interesting!
Would you say before your bleed turned into a full blown AF? They do say some women can have full bleeds during pregnancy don't they?
I really really hope it turns into good news for you 🤞🏼

User491 · 31/01/2023 08:00

@Sj2505 I know it really is so strange.
I think it was like a full period, as I had the cramps and bled for a good few days.
My friends saying I think you've lost the embryo they implanted and that was the cramping and bleeding but conceived naturally in between and that's why the levels are so low but going up...
I was like no, that would never happen... but I suppose anything is possible.
Still very cautious tho, as ectopic can still have the rising numbers too... I would be classed as 21dp now, so you would assume they would be up in the 1000's now 🙈
It's driving me insane 🤣

@Lauralozzle @Autumbreeze how are you both feeling today?
