Hello,

My partner and I need IVF due to MFI. We are hoping to start treatment in January 2023.

I had my fertility ultrasound scans today and these are my results:

AFC -

Left Ovary - 13 follicles
Right Ovary - 14 follicles

My Endo thickness was 7.3mm (cycle day 10).

I have no masses, cysts, fluid etc - everything looked smooth and normal.
How do these results seem?

I was also told I have a retroverted uterus - will this affect IVF?

@User491 Oh! I Hope it’s not ectopic and you just had a really low baseline hcg. I get that you just wanted it have dropped to focus on moving on. This limbo is gut wrenching I imagine. Hugs.

Scan this morning. So, left ovary is doing all the work, as expected!

I have 7 on my left ovary, 1 on my dud right ovary. I didn’t make a note of size, but 6 of them were all above 14mm. Quite a few at 17, 18, 19 mm.

Im waiting on a call back. They don’t do egg collection on Saturday I think, so I half expect a scan on Saturday and then told to trigger that day. Also expect maybe my dose to be dialled back a bit until Saturday.

Not as many as some but I’m hopeful they’ll get maybe 6 mature eggs, maybe.

I’ll let you all know once they’ve called me back!

@Frenchwindows welcome!! So sorry to hear about your first cycle. Hoping this one goes better for you ✨ we're having complete ICSI too. Is your baseline scan today or tomorrow?

@Autumbreeze sorry that EC got pushed back, but as you say, they know what's best for our eggs and embryos. How are the injections going now?

Oh wow, that's great news!
I think some clinic do EC on Saturdays if needed, I think they try to avoid it, but I guess in some extreme cases they can't really 🤷🏻‍♀️

Update:

So, looks like egg collection Monday. Meds as usual tonight, then tomorrow I have to go back for a scan. Nurse said I’m nearly there!

I'm ok just want it over now 😅
So strange, so my clinic want the other bloods tomorrow and I've to ring them, they told me to get in touch with our local EPU and tell them what we are going through, just incase I do need to see them. I have and they are marking tomorrows bloods as urgent; and said I could just have a late implanter... I find this really hard to believe as I've bled loads, had a positive test from last Wednesday, and my HCG should be so much higher than this! I don't like the idea of being given false hope now (although would be amazing if it all did work out)

@Lauralozzle amazing... we both maybe going Monday together then! Got my last scan tomorrow.

@Sj2505 injections are a little different again as the one was out of stock! They've also lowered my dose as I don't think they wanted to risk OHSS. Although I feel fine... I got a few sharp pains in my right ovary, but nothing in my left! I just hope they've grown a little more since Wednesday.
How are you? Getting closer again? How long until you start now?

7 days to go! I think it'll go quickly too. The weekends always fly by, then I have some work plans early next week, DS home for the teacher strike on Wednesday then taadaa it's Thursday again! Also getting new sofas delivered on Friday, so it's set to be a good week. I'm feeling very positive at the moment 🤩

@Sj2505 lovely to keep you busy the next 7 days! It really is flying here now!! Work are out Saturday and I wasn't going to go but now I don't have EC tomorrow I may drive and show my face for a bit. They are just going bowling so nothing to crazy. So glad you are feeling positive!! Best way to be!!

@Autumbreeze ohh that'll be nice, a little bit of normal for you. This journey is very consuming so it's nice when we can dip out of it occasionally.

Just had my scan, I’m fully cooked lol! 😂 I have 8 follicules on my left, she didn’t really check the right much because it’s not doing much at all. Lining is good.

I’ve got to wait for another call today to confirm egg collection and trigger time tomorrow. Egg collection definitely happening on Monday.

I have Monday/Tuesday off next week. Hoping that’s enough, I’m not in the union so with all the strikes on Wednesday (Civil Service) I’ll work from home Wednesday cause I think it’s very unlikely I’d get that off as holiday.

Think I can just relax a bit now.

I'm so looking forward to the new sofas.. although they're not being delivered next Friday, I've reread and that's when they're estimated to reach the delivery company! No comfy down regulation for me haha!

@Lauralozzle great news, well done on 8 follicles! That's great you've managed to get some time off. I plan to rest as much as possible for the first two days, then slowly build it back up to normal.

@Sj2505 so we have 7 follicles in the right but two are less than 10 and 4 good size in the left. So I'm hoping we have better luck this time. The right ovary is higher again but they said it's ok! Last injections tonight, trigger shot Saturday and egg collection also Monday.

They did call me when I was driving home so I couldn't really talk, so I was like can you call me back, so awaiting for the call now... I'm in work now so it's going to be a little awkward to talk.

@Autumbreeze that's great!! Perhaps they were just calling to confirm the trigger and EC times?

@Sj2505 I am working up in the office doing banking so it was fine taking the call.

Last injections are 6pm Saturday and then trigger is 8.30pm.... none on Sunday and then egg collection Monday, be there for 8am ... think I'll be second in. I was first last time and my trigger was at 8pm. Just have to sort a lift now as DH doesn't drive 🙄

6 days to go.... wooooopppp!!! Not long at all now!

Oh no, does anyone know what you're going through?
Me and OH were talking the other night about what if EC lands on a day he's working 😬 I don't have any family around me because we moved 250+ miles, so it's him or nothing haha.
He was just going to call in sick, but I think his boss would understand, but apparently if they don't have the manning he thinks his boss might be awkward. So we don't know whether he should ask properly and risk really p*ing them off if they say no because he's going anyway, or just call in sick 🤷🏻‍♀️ drama!

@Sj2505 it's hard isn't it? Work has been really good with me and DH work is ok but he worked from a big corporation where as I work in a little independent vets, we are a small team but they have been so good letting me go off. It's hard keeping it quite though as this week they have all been asking me where as I've been coming in late! I'm running out of lies 😂

Maybe get him to call in sick if he's going to be funny about it. Or say you're really unwell and he's had to take you to hospital, that way if anyone sees him there with you you got an excuse. But it is hard work... I do feel for you!

My mam is going to take me I think but she's not great at driving and having a bit of a panic, so we will see. Xx

Just had the call. Injections tonight as normal, tomorrow buserelin as normal and then trigger at 9:45. Nothing Sunday (yay) and then get to clinic at 8:45 for egg collection at 9:45.

@Autumbreeze luckily my work never really know where I am or what I'm doing, and I can respond to emails on my phone so it's not too suspicious either haha. But OH is in the Army and it's mainly the other guys moaning that he would have time off which puts pressure on the boss 🙄
It was hard enough him having time off for his surgical sperm retrieval because it was a private procedure. He's going to look at the manning for that week today and decide what to do.
Ah good ole Mam! She'll only be driving back won't she, she can take it nice and slow - I don't think you'll be in any hurry to get anywhere ☺️

@Sj2505 well she won't drive my car and I won't drive hers so she's driving both ways 😂 but my auntie is coming along now to so she'll have some company and they will wait around for me I think.

Aw god yes they are really strict aren't they? My DH has MFI to so I understand. We went private to for him. I don't understand why as it was private they were difficult?
Would it have been more easy for him to get it off if it was NHS?
Last time I went to the transfer myself as DH couldn't get it off but it was fine. I took photos and videos. Hopefully he'll be there this time but if he's not it's ok, we will do the same.

My OH had a vasectomy 9 years ago, so we had to have SSR unfortunately. The odds of a reversal working weren't great then we'd have had to have done ivf anyway, so we thought we'd cut out the middle man and go straight for ivf.
They were saying because it was private it was his choice rather than a necessity. Ridiculous.
I've said that I'd love him to be there for scans and transfer too but we know he won't be able to make it to everything.. it's just EC that he has to be there really.

My roller coaster of a journey goes on again, so my 3rd HCG has come back at 130, the out of hours dr has said to try and keep positive but look for any bad symptoms, and if I bleed or get pain to get checked out. I left a message for the clinic and they have come back to me just now and said, it's still very low for where I should be, and that I've to get another blood done Monday and go for a scan on Thursday. So at least either way we should know on Thursday!
I don't know how I feel about it all now 😬😬
