IVF cycle November 2022

HJen22 · 09/11/2022 13:18

Hi ladies

Just wondering if anyone is doing a cycle in November, looking for some cycle buddies.

I started stims yesterday, this is the 3rd cycle for us (2 NHS rounds where we didn't make it to transfer either time) and now we have signed up to a private a 3 cycle package with Create in Manchester. 3 egg collections and hopefully some embryo banking before and potential transfer. X

@Foreverhoping33 it's amazing the difference a few days can make to the follicles sizes so I am sure there will be some progress at your next scan. Totally understand it's worrying though. It's hard not to worry and think the worst but try and stay off google, it can just lead to more worry!

@CNizzle hope you shift that cold soon! Not fun! Are you feeling any better today?

@Nikster8012 welcome ❤️ I hope you're feeling better and the bleeding has stopped. Or that you got a hold of the clinic! What a hard time it sounds like you have had, I'm so sorry 😞

@Crystal88 ah that's a late trigger but just what happens for a later collection isn't it. Good luck and enjoy your semi free jab day tomorrow. I did 2 triggers too.

@Megan1591 that's fantastic news! Amazing numbers! When do you plan to transfer?

Update for us today, of our 4 eggs collected, all were mature and we have 3 fertilised and still going ❤️ we'll get an update on Monday day3 when they will hope to freeze one and then check on any left 🤞🏻 day 5 and day 6. We drove up the road today so happy to be home to our own house xxx

@HJen22 thank you, I just can’t wait until Monday to see how many eggs I get, hopefully relaxing day tomorrow watching my other half putting the Xmas decorations outside. I do love Christmas and hopefully take my mind of the wait .

it still doesn’t feel real I have waited to have IVF so long, to get it on the NHS I had lose 2 stone which I did but it took about year. But now I am days away from seeing if there is any viable eggs and then wait to see if i can have any put back in

Glad your eggs are doing well, sending you postive vibes , enjoy being at home

keep me updated xx

Nikster8012 · 19/11/2022 18:41

@HJen22 many thanks that's kind to mention me. Well I am currently sat in a massive hotel room on my own hahah waiting for scan day 10 tomorrow.
The partner is resting in West Wales. We have had to travel as no clinic or hospital would take me because of heart condition. Manchester is the only place who would take me. Its a bit woerd sat here in some random place I have no idea where I am.
I have had no symptoms. I am not bleeding. Was very light spotting.
Well, here goes nothing. I wonder what my old eggs are going to show for themselves tomorrow!!!! Very low am coz of age, but feeling positive.
I just have good vibes. After everything. Its a nice chat group actually. I am on my own. Noone knows about this IVF thing apart from OH of course, and I have never done anything like this.
Ah well.... Best wishes everyone, and sending all my love to each and everyone of you guys xxx

HJen22 · 19/11/2022 18:45

@Crystal88 huge well done to losing weight for your cycle! It's so tough to lose weight and takes great determination ❤️ have a restful day tomorrow and I am sending you all the very best for Monday!! You've got this x

@Nikster8012 we also travelled to Manchester, from north east Scotland! We spent 10 nights in an Airbnb close to the clinic. It is so very daunting being away from home but at the same time, after two failed cycles locally I think it did me good having a change of scenery. And the clinic were amazing. Ah good glad it wasn't bleeding, I am sure spotting happens and your clinic will be able to reassure you. We are all here for support. It can be such a lonely place, know you are not alone ❤️ xx

@Megan1591 Those are fantastic numbers, you must be thrilled! I hope they can get to the bottom of whatever the issue is.

I'm farting a lot. I think it's the progesterone. It's just me and the dog here and I think mine are even worse than hers.

Love and good thoughts to all ❤️

Foreverhoping33 · 19/11/2022 19:52

@HJen22 thanks for coming back I’m looking forward to my next scan on Monday and seeing the progression 🤞.
also massive contrats on the 3 eggs that fertilised! That’s such great news! So pleased for you!

countrypunk · 19/11/2022 20:05

@HJen22 Wahey on your three embryos!! 😊♥️

HJen22 · 19/11/2022 20:09

@countrypunk haha just blame the dog 😂 how are you feeling other than the wind? I hope ok!!

Thank you ladies, the calls are so so tense. We were in the car too and driving through the Yorkshire dales so signal kept dropping! I am cautiously optimistic, so badly want something in the freezer ❄️

Question for people that have had ER do you wear gown or own clothes during procedure xx

HJen22 · 19/11/2022 20:11

@Crystal88 for mine, both NHS and private it's been a full gown and hairnet. This time I had my socks on and time before that I think I had their wee paper slipper things. I kept a crop top bra thing on underneath x

hopefulivfer · 19/11/2022 20:17

Congrats @HJen22. 3 embys keep growing!
It’s totally nerve wracking getting those calls and even worse when the reception is poor!

@Crystal88 the clinic will give you a gown. I took my own slippers and dressing gown with me though.

@Foreverhoping33 Good luck with scans. Hopefully you will get a good number of🥚.

@countrypunk those progesterone suppositories are just the worst aren’t they! I had a fresh transfer following the first cycle. I was so bloated and uncomfortable afterwards and I literally couldn’t sit down as the progesterone suppositories really irritated me down below.

@Megan1591 congrats on those numbers! That’s amazing!

@Nikster8012 Glad that the bleeding has settled. Hopefully now you’re in Manchester, you will get seen and they can check you out and hopefully reassure you.

Crystal88 · 19/11/2022 20:25

@HJen22/@hopefulivfer
thank you both

i might pack a light dressing gown incase I need one and my slippers then

I have water and gonna get sandwich for afterwards

i have also got my medication they told me to bring

Any ideas of anything else I might need xx

HJen22 · 19/11/2022 20:28

@hopefulivfer thank you lovely, how are you doing?

@Crystal88 they will usually (for me anyway) offer you a hot drink and biscuit afterwards. I had a cup of tea and chocolate bourbons, my favourite!

I just turn up with leggings and a comfy hoody and some easy to get on trainers. X

I made a stupid mistake... I caved + did a test, 6dp5dt, with a stupid cheapo test.
Stark bfn.
Why!?? I've ordered the FRERs but they didn't come yet, so I rooted it out the cupboard and now I'm feeling really crappy.
They're not sensitive ones, so I know it's not the final outcome, but it's now left me in a stupid anxious state. Mr Nizzle has gone to a gig, so I haven't got anyone to scrape me off the ceiling.

CNizzle · 19/11/2022 20:34

@Crystal88 I got tea + toast with jam after mine. Yum!

countrypunk · 19/11/2022 20:36

@Crystal88 same as @hopefulivfer - gown and took my own dressing gown and some cosy socks.

I was fairly grossed out by the thought of putting suppositories up my bottom, but actually it's not too bad! Although it's only been 3 days, maybe it's gonna get worse...

@HJen22 I feel back to normal! Except for the farting. It's unreal.

Hope you're OK. It's all so bloody stressful. You get good news and it's amazing but you don't want to get too excited in case the next news is not so good... argh.

🎢

hopefulivfer · 19/11/2022 20:38

Hi @HJen22 I’m ok. Sometimes, I get really excited about those embys - but the embryologists have cautioned me to manage my expectations and after my last two cycles, I remember how sad we were. So I’m yo-yoing between cautious optimism and the potential for bad news. I forgot how mentally exhausted I am. I hope you’re ok after transfer. It’s exhausting going through a retrieval and then you’ve had to travel back up to Scotland. I presume you’re both mentally and physically exhausted.

@Crystal88 as @HJen22 says they will give you some light refreshments post procedure. Once you’re awake, observations are stable and you have had a wee. They usually let you go home. You will be there for about 2 hours. Good luck with everything. It’s a nerve wracking time, but know you have your gang here if you need to offload.

countrypunk · 19/11/2022 20:38

PS @Crystal88 You might have to wait around for a little bit so might be worth bringing an easy read, something you don't have to concentrate too much on.

Crystal88 · 19/11/2022 20:41

Thank you all for the advice I now have better idea of what to take

I am so glad I have this group to help and give advice xx

we are here for you

try not to panic, sending you postive vibes xx

countrypunk · 19/11/2022 20:56

@CNizzle You know it's all still to play for because you've tested early. When did your clinic tell you to test, 14dp5dt?

As you said, it's not the final outcome! I recommend the US version of The Office as an excellent distraction technique, all 9 seasons on Netflix 🙂

CNizzle · 19/11/2022 21:04

Thanks @Crystal88 &@countrypunk I just needed to get the anger at myself out!

Test date is 10dp5dp, so Wednesday.

I did this last time too, but DID eventually get a bfp on day 9! so i KNOW I'm being daft. (sadly that one ended in mmc).
Right I'm off to find some crappy TV.... I've being loving Taskmaster recently and considered starting that from the beginning.

countrypunk · 19/11/2022 21:13

@CNizzle ♥️♥️♥️

HJen22 · 19/11/2022 21:28

@CNizzle don't lose hope, as the other ladies say it's still very early and plenty time for that to become a BFN. I'm sorry your OH isn't there for comfort. Def get something on the tv, sending love x

@hopefulivfer I am exactly the same, the good news happiness only lasts a wee while until you then begin to think and worry about the next stage and hurdle. My sister was far too excited when I told her our update today, not out the woods yet which I've tried to explain to her. Only those who've been there really understand that the fear is still very much there. When you've had bad cycles it really does make you sadly less hopeful. It is exhausting isn't it. Thankfully the drive back up was quite quick and not any traffic or bad weather. We were just glad to get home and then we'll have tomorrow before "back" to work. Although my OH worked throughout. For testing so they have to go into the freezer at Day5?

OP posts:
hopefulivfer · 19/11/2022 22:02

@HJen22 if we get to day 5 then yes freeze those and batch PGT A testing at the end of 3 cycles. If we get one - we won’t test. The embryologist talked about even culturing to day 6 if the embryos are slow growing.
@CNizzle - try and distract yourself by binge watching Netflix series. Otherwise you’ll just torture yourself. It’s still early so wait it to OTD. Rooting for you x
