IVF cycle November 2022

Hi ladies

Just wondering if anyone is doing a cycle in November, looking for some cycle buddies.

I started stims yesterday, this is the 3rd cycle for us (2 NHS rounds where we didn't make it to transfer either time) and now we have signed up to a private a 3 cycle package with Create in Manchester. 3 egg collections and hopefully some embryo banking before and potential transfer. X

@HJen22 great news that all your eggs were mature and you have 3, hoping for a great day 3 update!

so after me worrying about follicle size on Fri I was back for another scan today and my follicles have taken a huge increase - largest on fri was 14- today I have 22’s and 19 and 17 so likely retrieval on wed.

I’m now worrying some of them are too big and I’ll lose them and I’ve some other ones almost ready so hoping they catch up by Wed - what a rollercoaster 🙈

Hope you’re well. Just wanted to ask you what time the embryology team updated you yesterday. I’m meant to get a day 5 update today and I haven’t heard from them yet. I’m starting to think the news must be bad…

@Hopewishprayer thank you 😊 the fear for the next call is real but trying to remain positive! That's great news your follicles have had a growth spurt!! As hard as it is, try not to get too hung up on the sizes and trust the Drs and their decision. I know that's easier said than done and I also worried about the bigger one I had getting too big! Hopefully the smaller catch up and the bigger will still be good too. It really is such a rollercoaster! Hang in there ❤️

@hopefulivfer hi lovely! They called me yesterday at 11am but on day of collection it was around 12 to tell me icsi. Perhaps they don't start til later with it being Sunday. Worst case scenarios always come into my head too, I really hope you hear from them soon, I am sure you will and with good news 🤞🏻❤️ xxx

Hey guys.... went for ten day scan. I am old haha I had one follicle at 18cm and three at 13mm.
I am booked for EC on Tuesday but they were not singing and dancing about my chances, which is what I expected at my age.
It only takes one right!!!!! I have TWO triggers to take on my next phone call.
I am wondering why they are pushing it forward.
I was laughing and joking earlier, it's my defense mechanism.
Onwards.... only takes one !

Hey @HJen22 we were on a thread together around May time! How are you? I see you are going to Manchester for this cycle! I was due to have a cycle start about 3.5 weeks ago but unfortunately at the end of September we had covid so they advise to postpone! We then had a lovely holiday to Tenerife which was well needed. Stims due to start for us on 23rd December & Norethisterone on 8th December! How far into the cycle are you now? X

@Reefy yes I remember you ❤️ how are you lovely? I'm so sorry you had Covid! I hope you are fully recovered! I had Covid in between cycles 1 and 2. I'm glad to hear you had a lovely holiday, time away is always so nice and much needed! We also went to Tenerife, loved it! Not long to wait now then! How are you feeling about it all? Yup we decided to go with Create down in Manchester, we're doing a 3 cycle package before hopefully a transfer. Completely different protocol in that we did low dose stims compared to max stims previously. I had collection Friday so in the dreaded updates week!!

@Nikster8012 it does only take one 🤞🏻 and there is still time for the others to grow between now and collection. Try and focus on quality over quantity ❤️ I hope you are doing ok x

@HJen22 yes I've been good thank you. Was upset we had to cancel but it was our first time getting it so yo get through 4 cycles without it was good. It's lovely isn't it, it was much first time there & absolutely loved it! I feel really scared as last time we only had 1 fertilise so I'm scared we may end up with that again. I've was on 225 of menopur but being put up to 300. I'm glad you found somewhere to do a cycle! So pleased to see you got eggs from the cycle! Waiting for those updates I find the worse. Hope you aren't feeling to sore x

Got an update today. 3 are still in the running. 1 blastocyst has been frozen. There are two early blastocysts - so they’re going to culture them to tomorrow. So hoping and praying these two make it into the freezer aswell

@Reefy lovely to hear from you and glad to hear you are well. Yeah I can imagine, sometimes it feels like nothing goes smoothly and Covid was always an extra added worry! I was stressed out before cycle 1 in case I got it then worried when I did get it it was too close to the planned cycle! My first time there too and would def go back. We got engaged there so something good to come out of 2022 finally! And I hope to say the same about this cycle! I was so so relieved after no eggs last time. It was always a worry it would happen again! Are you at the same clinic? Everything crossed for some more embryos for you this time 🤞🏻

@hopefulivfer SO pleased to read your update! What time did they finally call? Absolutely fantastic one is safely in the freezer, I hope the others join tomorrow. Apologies for my ignorance but when they don't freeze day 5 and leave to day 6 does that mean they just aren't quite at the stage they'd like for freezing but every chance they could be tomorrow? Xx

@HJen22 the one they froze is a full expanded blastocyst. The remaining two are early blastocysts so they are hoping they will get to right level of maturity tomorrow. Leaving it to blastocyst stage enables the embryologist to take biopsies for the PGT a testing. I hope at least 1 more makes it tomorrow. I hope all goes well for your day 3 update. It’s tomorrow isn’t it.
I found that the embryologist was very nice and took all the time I needed to go through each embryo - explaining what happened at each stage including the ones that didn’t make it. So that I understood the process.

They called at 310pm. So it was a long wait for me today. But I’m relieved one is in the freezer. I was worried that the news was going to be terrible so feel a bit more chilled now.

@hopefulivfer thank you for explaining to me, I wasn't sure what it meant when they left to day 6. The embryologist said to me they'd do day 3 and day 5 and 6 checks too. I really hope that the others are added to the freezer for you tomorrow ❤️ Thank you - yup day 3 call tomorrow and the nerves are back! I will not feel a little until one is in the freezer. Yes the embryologist I spoke with was lovely too, although after the main numbers I was so overwhelmed and teary and I was repeating to my OH so my attention wasn't as great when she was telling me about the one that I think she said had fertilised but defragmented; would that be right? I think she said it was a weak egg. But I was just so relieved for the 3 xx

@HJen22 wow congratulations! Yes we went second week in October & was lovely as weather was great & something to look forward to later in the year! I've got everything crossed that you get something from this cycle. Yes we are at the same clinic as we had the multi cycle package so it was already paid for & I can't find any fault with them also is convenient for us to get to & from especially with work. Thank you! X

today I mainly slept and got my stuff ready for tomorrow for ER

im not nervous at moment, just excited to see how many eggs I get, hopefully couple and then fresh transfer

my other half stressing more than me, has he needs to produce sample tomorrow,

I get my day 5 call tomorrow, and transfer as long as I have at least one blastocyst. Starting to feel a bit sick about it now. What will be will be eh, and it's totally out of my hands.

It's gonna a busy Monday!
I managed to quell the mind-storm. OH came home & told me I was being silly! 😀 & gave me a big hug... it's what I really needed, also started watchingThe Mighty Booosh from the start. Love Noel Fielding ❤️, also managed to get out the house a bit today, but still full of cold.
FRERs arrived.... Eek. I'm thinking Tuesday (9dpt) for testing, official date is Wednesday.

@CNizzle Oh my god, Mighty Boosh, blast from the past! I spent many a stoned evening at uni cackling at that 😆

@Reefy thank you 🥰 we went end of august to celebrate my OHs 40th, and the break was well needed. After our failed June cycle we decided we'd wait til after our holiday until we planned the next. It moved quite quick once we'd arranged our consultation. Glad to hear you are happy with the clinic, and that they've tweaked your protocol. It can be trial and error can't it, just never know how our bodies are going to respond. Is this your second of the multi? Distance wise it's a lot us travelling from Scotland to Manchester and we'll be doing it 3 times, but the Airbnb house we had was lovely, we had the dog and I actually didn't work at all so that was nice. I felt in really good hands and was very closely monitored too.

@Crystal88 sounds like a nice relaxing day. Hope getting up at 1am for trigger wasn't too painful! Sending all the luck for tomorrow 💕

Hi guys took trigger last night at 11pm. Collection tomorrow. Woke up with sore boobies. First symptom other then a few twinges. Worried I ovulate in the night already !!! Is this normal ? Sorry I think asking real people is best. Dr Google scares me xx

@HJen22 sounds perfect! Yes this is the last one of the multi cycle so feel pretty scared about that. Aww hope your dog is ok as think you had been at the vets a lot last time. It's good your experience with them a positive one! Will be good if you can get the same Air B&B again. Good luck with your update today 🤞.

@Nikster8012 each cycle I've done I normally get sore boobs! I hate those late triggers as I go to bed early so I always set an alarm when I've had them 😂 but now we have ICSI we get the early ones! Good luck for collecting tomorrow! X
