IVF cycle November 2022

Hi ladies

Just wondering if anyone is doing a cycle in November, looking for some cycle buddies.

I started stims yesterday, this is the 3rd cycle for us (2 NHS rounds where we didn't make it to transfer either time) and now we have signed up to a private a 3 cycle package with Create in Manchester. 3 egg collections and hopefully some embryo banking before and potential transfer. X

im lucky only 10 minute drive for me to clinic

I was there 30 minutes early last scan as I am inpatient I can’t just sit waiting at home trying to work lol

I would prefer a 8 o’clock

lucky has I can work from home , usually do 4 days week at home and go in for one day but work has been great, so I might do all this week from home

@Manc80 that sounds like a lovely weekend and much the same as ours! Yeah it stings sometimes when going in but thankfully not for long!

Our clinic is close to where we are staying too! Last scan we had to wait about 45mins after the actual app time as I think there had been some sort of emergency (which I know is what causes delays so I'd never be annoyed) but hopefully not such a wait tomorrow!

@Crystal88 that would be good if you can do all this week from home. X

Clinic called me back about 545pm. To trigger tonight and EC on Tuesday.
Was very stressed to say the least! Thought they’d forgotten about me.
My coordinator never answers the phone even on a normal day. So wasn’t holding out for her to respond tbh. Sounds like you have a really good coordinator.

@CNizzle so happy for you! Keep us posted on how you get on. When I had my failed transfer- I nearly went stir crazy. Just enjoy being PUPO. Lots of crap telly should keep you going. Whatever you do- don’t test! It will only make you more crazy!

@hopefulivfer oh phew I'm so glad you heard back finally! What a stress I'm sure you didn't need! I will bear it in mind they don't seem to have a 5pm cut off for calls! And great that's you booked in for EC! First thing? Enjoy your injection free day tomorrow!

Yeah I was panicking. But it was me being silly. Blaming it on all the hormones!

Hi all! My period started today so I am officially starting my 1st round of ivf. On the short protocol so start stims tomorrow!
hoping to make a little check list of things to do to try and make ivf successful so far I have

• drink lots of water
• take vitamins
• walk 30 mins
• mindful ivf meditation
• floss
• eat super healthily

does anyone else have anything more to add?

also good luck for everyone having their EC today!! I hope it goes well!

How did everyone with scans get on?

I was emotional as soon as I laid down as I just get so scared after two totally disastrous cycles previous. My smaller follicles are catching up with the big so that's good. More bloods today to check LH hormones. If they are rising I'm to have another scan tomorrow, if I don't hear back from them I'm back Wednesday.

Took two nurses and then the anaesthetist to get blood from me today, my veins just weren't playing ball! So a chilled afternoon in front of the tv for me x

And welcome @Foreverhoping33 ❤️ all the best for your cycle. My tip would be rest when you need to rest. Emotionally it can takes it toll (for me the emotional side is harder than the physical) so be kind to yourself and don't push yourself to do anything x

@HJen22 glad your scan went well. i now have 7 follicles, 3 one side and 4 the other , over 10mm so they are happy i am going in right direction. start the second injection tonight and another scan on Wednesday when I should find out whether it will be Friday or Monday for EC. its all getting real now xx

soo I went for my scan and to talk about egg collection but my follicles haven’t grown much since last scan I had one at 14 and there rest were 7/8/9/10/11. We’ve been told to do a couple more days of stims and go back Wednesday but I’m worrying nothing is going to change! Has anyone else had this and seen a different in 2 days? 😔

First injection today of cetrotide

has anyone had red area around the injection point with cetrotide

it really itchy around the point the injection went in xx

@HJen22 my scan went ok thanks, glad yours did too, and yours @Crystal88. I've also been told to start my second injections tonight and am back on Weds for a scan and bloods. I've got 2 clusters, one group of 5 that are at 13/14 and all the others lagging way behind at 8 or 9. They might catch up but who knows 🤷‍♀️

@Crystal88 mine is fyremadel but this is part of the info my clinic emailed today so think the raised/red-mess might be a common thing? Hope the itching stops soon x

I’d like to join please, I am on day 6 of stims and this is my 4th round - last one nhs (first round was self funded)
be nice to have some cycle buddies! I’m starting to feel sore and bloated - first scan not till Friday
@HJen22 how are you finding using Manchester fertility? My DH has SSR there and I thought I’d this round doesn’t work out then it could be an option to try - we are based in Scotland though - how does the package of 3 cycles work?

@Crystal88 I'm glad your scan went well too! Yes I get a bit of a red rash at injection site after cetroride too! It goes away not long after.

Dr called and I'm back for another scan tomorrow, my hormone levels are rising nicely but they want to keep an eye on me so I'm really grateful for the close monitoring they are doing.

@Jessb27 a lot can happen over a few days re growth so I am sure when you return for your next scan they will be bigger 🤞🏻

@ohsohopeful glad to hear your scan went well too! And hopefully a few of the smaller follicles catch up over the coming days!

@Hopewishprayer welcome ❤️ sending the best of luck. This is our 3rd cycle. It's create in Manchester we are at; so far I really like it. All of the staff are lovely and so is the clinic. With the 3 cycle package you do 3 egg collections with hopefully a transfer at the end. With us being in Scotland the way we've done it is I called when my period came and they gave us a scan time; we then booked accommodation to come down the day before and we've booked to stay for 10 nights. And if it needs to be longer we can hopefully extend. My fiancé is working (we have an Airbnb), I am not as I had holidays left. The other previous cycles I've worked so I wanted to try and not have anything to worry about this time. With it coming up to Christmas this might be our only cycle this year, and then the remaining 2 the start of next year xx

I had my first scan since starting menopur and they found 4 big ones and 8 small ones but like you I wasn’t informed of what to do. Then I got the phone call later on saying that I need to increase menopur - got the day 10 scan on Wednesday so let’s see x

Hello everyone, can I join? I joined another IVF thread earlier this eve but actually I think this is the right one!

I'm on my first cycle and we're having ICSI. I'm on long protocol and had a gruelling couple of weeks on buserelin, the devil! I've done my last injection of ovaleap this evening and in ten minutes I'm doing my trigger injection. Egg collection on Wednesday morning. I'm pretty nervous but I have a friend who's been through it all and she said EC was the best bit because you wake up in a lovely drug fog. Hope I get that!

Hope everyone's doing OK. It's been a long month. I can only imagine how much longer it feels for anyone who's already been through it once or more.

Thank you @Hopewishprayer 🙂 I am also very bloated. Felt like a beached whale in bed last night. And apparently it gets worse after collection! Excellent.

Had a bit of a weird one with my final stims injection last night, where I wasn't sure if I'd injected the correct dose. The cartridge said 300iu and that was the amount to take in my notes, but once I'd done it there still seemed to be 150iu of drug left in the cartridge when I'd expect there to be none? My bloody clinic closes the phone lines at 5pm and it didn't seem like a medical emergency, so I'm just hoping for the best. I guess at this stage it won't make much difference anyway.
