IVF cycle November 2022

Hi ladies

Just wondering if anyone is doing a cycle in November, looking for some cycle buddies.

I started stims yesterday, this is the 3rd cycle for us (2 NHS rounds where we didn't make it to transfer either time) and now we have signed up to a private a 3 cycle package with Create in Manchester. 3 egg collections and hopefully some embryo banking before and potential transfer. X

my process sounds similar to yours, I have a scan on Monday and Wednesday and if all goes well - egg collection on Friday xx

Hiya, yeah please do keep us updated I got my scan on Monday too! Monday is also the day I completed my seven days of injection of Menopur and three days of Fraymadol - nervous!

Had another scan today. 3 reached 17mm threshold. The other 3 close behind. Bloods repeated today and I have to go back for another scan tomorrow. They will
then decide if I trigger tomorrow or the day after for either Monday or Tuesday egg collection.
I have a fibroid at the back of the womb, so they advised a hysteroscopy as well to make sure that the fibroid isn’t impacting on the womb, which might interfere with implantation. Not planning for transfer until all 3 egg collections complete so not sure when the hysteroscopy will be undetaken.

Anyway, trying to keep faith. Hope you guys are all getting on well x

Just checking in, hope everyone is doing ok! I had my 5 day scan today after starting menopur earlier in the week, they said I've got 16 follicles and they range from 4-10mm. The clinic have since emailed and asked me to increase my menopur dose but not said why, so now wondering if they were expecting more/bigger at this point! The nurse didn't seem concerned. So out of my depth with this crazy process already 🤦‍♀️😂

@hopefulivfer that sounds promising- exciting for you to be doing your trigger and I’m sure there will be time to manage the fibroid before your transfer later down the line.

@ohsohopeful 16 is a great number - I’m sure they know what they’re doing but I understand your concern as so much of this feels like a mystery at times

Thanks @Manc80 you're right it's a mystery but they definitely know better than I do! Wondering if it's because I was on a low dose so they upped it to the standard dose now. How are you feeling post-transfer?

@HSingh15 I think I'll likely have a scan Wednesday too! Not sure about egg collection day yet though! How are you feeling? And getting on with meds? I don't really have any symptoms, but also trying to keep busy and not overthink. Easier said than done sometimes though!

@hopefulivfer that's great news 3 at the right size, and still plenty time for the others to grow some more. I asked the Dr if they are the same and need 3 to go to collection but he just answered my question about 17mm, do they want 3? My last NHS cycle was touch and go as I had 2 the right size but the others weren't so I had to stim for longer. Can I ask what cycle day Monday and Tuesday would be for you? That's good that they've spotted that so early on and yes I'm sure plenty time for them to manage the fibroid. @ohsohopeful great number! I know, it's daunting when you don't really know what or why decisions are made but trust that they know what they are doing and have your best interests. When is your next scan?

@ohsohopeful 16 wow!! What a fantastic number. I’m guessing the clinic know what they’re doing and obviously want all those follies to grow simultaneously. Good luck 🤞

@hopefulivfer thank you, I am hoping one of those days will be collection for us too, as we've only booked to stay until Sunday 🤞🏻 can't ever be sure so just had to book until then and if need be we can add a day on hopefully.

Im starting to get side effects today headache, back ache and certainly really mood lol 😂. Hoping when I have my scan tomorrow, I have progressed at bit more. Don’t want to rush the process though xx

@Crystal88 I don't feel great either today and on same meds day as you! My hands feel so swollen I've had to take my engagement ring off and take ibuprofen, and they were all shaky earlier. Very weird! Trying to drink plenty water! I have my second scan tomorrow too xx

as well as drinking plenty try to increase your protein intake too. 60-80g daily has been recommended during stimulation that can help to reduce the swelling that you’re both experiencing.

@hopefulivfer thank you! They seem to have went down a bit, it seems to happen most days at some point then they go back to feeling normal, so strange.

@HJen22 had bloods repeated today and scan. Some more follies have joined. They are waiting for blood results today to decide if I’m triggering today or not. I’m provisionally down for EC on Tuesday but it could be as late as Wednesday. Just waiting for a call.
Now I’m on edge a bit.

I usually have a period every 28 days so they think ovulation falls on day 13/14. They have been really ace so far so have to trust and respect their judgment.

@hopefulivfer it's really good they are keeping a close eye on you and are doing bloods as well as scans before they decide best time for trigger and EC. Such a difference to nhs isn't it! Yes for sure trust their judgement. I know the unknown is scary though. Hope you've had an update.

@Crystal88 cetroride is ok, sometimes stings a little but not too badly and I've managed to not bruise loads. Last time I had heaps of bruises and a few bleeds after injections! You will be all good I'm sure xx

Hi All,

Freaking out a bit. Clinic haven’t called me with my results so not sure if I have to trigger or take my Bemfola.
Was told to keep my phone on me as they will contact me with what I’m supposed to do next. Called the emergency mobile number for the nurse but only going straight to voicemail.
A little bit concerned now especially as consultant was hopeful about my progress.
What should I do? Any ideas?

Thanks for all your well-wishes... transfer went really well.. Out of my 2 eggs, I got 2 blasts, a 4AA & 3CC, so we transferred both ! Yikes! Last cycle only managed one cavitating morula out of 3 eggs.

The next 10 days are gonna be torture. @Manc80 any coping strategies? I was brutal on my last cycle.

@hopefulivfer oh what a stress. I would just keep calling until it eventually rings and doesn't just go straight to voicemail! And maybe try the main line too or your patient Coordinators direct line? I hope you've heard or been able to get through since you messaged!

@HJen22 and @Crystal88 I'm a bit jealous of your 10am scans! Mine is 8am and the clinic is a good 45 mins away 🤦‍♀️😂 Hope your scans go well!

@HJen22 I’m good thanks, had a nice weekend walking, cooking and relaxing. I found Cetroride ok, stung the odd time but more afterwards than during the shot. Good luck!

@hopefulivfer I hope you’ve heard from the clinic and have some peace of mind. If not I can only assume they don’t want you to trigger today and will be in touch tomorrow? Hope you’re ok.

@CNizzle that’s amazing news, you must feel great! In terms of tips I’m finding balancing keeping busy with doing absolutely nothing in equal proportions is helping. Lots of walks, cooking, easy jobs around the house I’ve been putting off with lots of Netflix and feet up. Congratulations on being double PUPO!
