IVF cycle November 2022

Hi ladies

Just wondering if anyone is doing a cycle in November, looking for some cycle buddies.

I started stims yesterday, this is the 3rd cycle for us (2 NHS rounds where we didn't make it to transfer either time) and now we have signed up to a private a 3 cycle package with Create in Manchester. 3 egg collections and hopefully some embryo banking before and potential transfer. X

Hi all,

I just wanted to let you know that my outcome was the same as foreverhoping33.

Here's to 2023 and some better news 💜

Cat89 · 06/01/2023 19:46

Oh @Laurenhuh , I'm sorry it wasn't better news 😔. Sending big hugs to you both. I hope you can draw some support from this group in addition to family, friends etc. Xxx

Laurenhuh · 07/01/2023 15:49

@Cat89 thank you, I really appreciate it. I'm okay today, but the last few days haven't been easy. Xx

Thank you so much @HJen22 💜

HJen22 · 07/01/2023 16:55

Is anyone else who didn't have success in November starting again soon? We will be doing our 2nd cycle with Create in about 2 and a half weeks, no change to meds. And we are hoping to do a transfer 🤞🏻🤞🏻 xxx

Laurenhuh · 07/01/2023 16:59

@HJen22 I'm hoping to go again in April/May. I could go again as early as March but my brother is getting married and I'd rather wait til after that. What meds will you be on? 😊
Sending you all the luck, baby dust and love for this round! 💜

HJen22 · 07/01/2023 17:08

@Laurenhuh ah lovely that will be fun! And as much as I think we're all desperate to get going again, it is good to have the little break. For the first cycle with create it was 150ui bemfola. We got 3 embryos in the freezer which given my low amh and follicle count is pretty great! I asked the nurse how many is "good" for me and she was like we aim for 1 a cycle. So that's kinda why we are planning a transfer after cycle 2 (whether that be with a new embryo or one from cycle 1) instead of doing the 3 cycles. Do you have any frozen? Xx

Hello @Laurenhuh I'm so sorry to read your news, it's so so hard. Sending you masses of love and luck for this year.

@HJen22 I'm having my second (and final) blastocyst transferred in a couple of weeks. Not feeling terribly hopeful because it's the poorest grade my clinic will freeze. I'm thinking we might move to Create if this transfer doesn't work and try mild IVF next time. The 3 cycle deal seems very good value. And your experience has been good so far I think?

Laurenhuh · 07/01/2023 17:29

@HJen22 that's exciting and great news that you got 3 with your amh 💜 when you talk about cycles do you mean you have to go fresh again or can you do FET? I'm the other end of the situation where I had a freeze all because I overstimulated and was at risk of ohss. In the end we got 9 blastocysts, 8 still in storage and most are A grade. I think it's just controlling my thyroid to sustain a pregnancy would be the issue. I'll hopefully have my answers at my review in a month or so

Thank you @countrypunk 💜

HJen22 · 07/01/2023 17:51

@countrypunk I thought it might be soon ❤️ are you doing a medicated or natural FET? I hope it's a wee fighter of an embryo, and if it's frozen it's still to their standards 🤞🏻yes it's been great, I am so so glad we chose to go there. If our transfer after cycle 2 is unsuccessful we will continue onto cycle 3 before doing any other transfer. They have been really good with us and my patient coordinator is so so good with communication and answering my questions. I cannot fault them to this point in time.

@Laurenhuh sorry so we've paid for a 3 cycle package where the intention is to bank embryos and then to a transfer after 3 collections. So first cycle was a freeze all. But we want to do the "included" transfer after cycle 2. Wow that's an amazing number and really good you don't have to stim again! Hopefully you will have some answers after your review.

@HJen22 A natural transfer. Our doctor said there was no difference in pregnancy rates between natural and medicated so I thought the fewer hormones, the better!

That's wonderful that you've had such a great experience. I think I need to stop reading clinic reviews - they're always so mixed. I'll be booking a consultation for sure if this transfer doesn't work out.

We can think of each other in a couple of weeks when you're doing cycle 2 and I'm (hopefully!) doing transfer 2! ♥️

LF82 · 07/01/2023 18:07

@HJen22 good luck! Amazing you will be doing a transfer this time. We start mid jan too, not sure exactly what meds I will be on. Really hoping we manage to successfully get some embryos in the freezer on the first round x

HJen22 · 07/01/2023 18:27

@countrypunk that's really good and hopefully no needles? Or do you still do trigger? Yeah I didn't really read all that many reviews but I did read some of the convos on here. I decided to just go with how we felt after the consultation. I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

@LF82 thank you and good luck to you too! Do you have your nurses consultation booked? Really hope you have a good first cycle. How is your amh/follicle count? Xx

OP posts:
LF82 · 07/01/2023 18:33

@HJen22 my nurses consultation is the week after next and we should start the week after that. The patient co- ordinator said that would be enough time to have everything delivered! When I had my scan I had 5 follicles on one side & 6 on the other. They didn’t test my AMH - I actually asked me patient co- ordinator if I needed it doing and she said the consultant didn’t ask for it? Not sure why…. Am wondering if I should ask them to do it anyway x

HJen22 · 07/01/2023 18:38

@LF82 yeah plenty time! My meds came next day delivery when they were ordered last time. That's a good number of follicles, I only have an average of 4/6. Actually they didn't test my AMH so don't worry. It's just the NHS that did it ages ago for me, it's not been done again since and to be honest I didn't even want to know what it was as I didn't want to google it and panic myself xx

OP posts:
LF82 · 07/01/2023 18:44

@HJen22 oh that’s good the meds came that quickly. I started worrying I had left the consultation too late but I want it to be fresh in my head. Am dreading it as I am not good with needles! Can’t even look when I have an injection 🙈 I did google amount my follicles either to be honest as worried, the consultant said it was ok so I just left it. Am guessing if I google it the answer might be different!
have a feeling we are likely to be sat in the waiting room at the same time in a few weeks! X

HJen22 · 07/01/2023 19:03

@LF82 they were very quick and you pick the delivery date with the company directly yourself. Honestly I was the same and so nervous, but really they aren't all that bad I don't think. The ones I've had are quite small actual needles. My OH does them, I have done some myself in previous cycles but I didn't enjoy doing them myself at all. Yeah it's best not to google things, there's always something I wish I'd not seen. When is your cycle 1 roughly? I know I think we will! Xx

OP posts:
LF82 · 07/01/2023 20:06

@HJen22 I told my husband he might need to do mine too. Cycle 1 is roughly last week of Jan 🤞x

HJen22 · 07/01/2023 20:31

@LF82 yeah I much prefer when my OH does them. Same, my app is saying 26th January but might be a day or two before. Wishing the days away to just get going xx

OP posts:
LF82 · 07/01/2023 20:45

@HJen22 me too! Feel like it’s going to be a long few weeks. Haven’t told anyone we are doing it yet either so don’t feel like it’s really happening yet. To be honest not sure we will as I don’t want the extra pressure but also know that might not be sensible as will need the suppprt! X

countrypunk · 07/01/2023 23:08

@HJen22 No, no trigger! They'll just monitor my cycle with scans from day 10 and then when I ovulate they'll count 5 days from there and then transfer. I won't escape the needles completely because I'm having extra some progesterone this time. I spotted before my period was due last time which can be a sign your body isn't making enough to support a pregnancy.

For anyone scared of needles, I hate having blood tests and was very nervous about injecting myself but after the first one it's really really easy. It takes seconds and the needles are really fine. I find that as long as I really relax after I've pinched my flesh, it doesn't hurt at all.

HJen22 · 11/01/2023 13:20

How is everyone? I hope all doing well ❤️
