IVF cycle November 2022

HJen22 · 09/11/2022 13:18

Hi ladies

Just wondering if anyone is doing a cycle in November, looking for some cycle buddies.

I started stims yesterday, this is the 3rd cycle for us (2 NHS rounds where we didn't make it to transfer either time) and now we have signed up to a private a 3 cycle package with Create in Manchester. 3 egg collections and hopefully some embryo banking before and potential transfer. X

@HJen22 I am in a good place at moment

I’ve booked holiday for end April to Spain, so going to delay next cycle until May to give my body time to recover

hope everyone else is ok

LF82 · 11/01/2023 19:05

Hi @HJen22 How are you? I am just on countdown now to my nurses appointment on Tuesday…. Just want to get going now

@countrypunk i am hopeful I take to doing the injections ok but v nervous, hoping I don’t do it wrong and ruin it all!

HJen22 · 11/01/2023 19:51

@Crystal88 oh lovely, where about in Spain? That will be so nice to get away for some sun and take a break.

@LF82 good thank you 😊 aw not long now! Tuesday be here before you know it. Both nurses calls I had they were lovely (and all nurses in person) so you will be in good hands! Xx

Hi all!
Lovely to hear from everyone and looks like January is going to be an exciting month for many with starting the next cycle. ☺️☺️

Update from me: I'm today officially Week 9 and had my first midwife appt this morning which was basically 1.5hrs of paperwork and not terribly exciting lol 😬. I've booked another private ultrasound for Sunday just to check things are still ok. Pregnancy wise I think I'm having it fairly easy as tbh still not many symptoms other than migraines most days and big bloated belly by the evening. No morning sickness whatsoever and boobs have never been sore, weird!. I stopped googling and comparing myself to others after wk6 scan and have felt MUCH happier and relaxed since. DO NOT GOOGLE symptoms or compare yourself to others - it isn't helpful and just causes unnecessary stress!!

@Crystal88 I took a long break after preg #2 didn't work out and just spent 6 months focusing on the things I enjoy and took 2 holidays. The space seems to have paid off so far 🤞 and did me a lot of good mentally 😊. It's a good idea x

countrypunk · 11/01/2023 22:21

@LF82 it is nerve racking! On my very first go I nearly injected the trigger drug - prepped it and everything. Luckily we realised just as I was about to insert the needle. In my defence it had a very similar name to my stims medication! So just be careful you don't do that 😆

Crystal88 · 12/01/2023 10:01

@HJen22 going to torremolinos been there are couple of times and love it

good luck starting your next round

@Cat89 glad your progressing well, hopefully the break is what I need

good luck to everyone else and keep me updated

countrypunk · 12/01/2023 10:11

@Cat89 Lovely update 🌻🌷

@Crystal88 Holiday sounds like an excellent idea. I've never been to that part of Spain but it looks gorgeous 🌞

I had my day 10 scan yesterday. If all goes to plan I guess I'll have my FET a week tomorrow. Feeling less gloomy about the grade after a good chat with the nurse.

LF82 · 12/01/2023 12:17

@countrypunk i can imagine myself doing that! Pleased you are feeling better after your chat with the nurse. It’s so hard not to over think everything

@Crystal88 a holiday is a fab plan.it’s stuff like that I am struggling with at the moment as would normally have one planned but feel like I can’t because of the ivf

@Cat89 so glad things are going well

HJen22 · 13/01/2023 19:32

@Cat89 so glad to hear you're keeping well, all the best for your scan on Sunday ❤️

@Crystal88 that will be lovely! We went to Benalmadena a few years back and it was really nice. A break away is always a good idea, we did it before our November cycle and it did me the world of good.

@countrypunk that's great it's looking good for your transfer next week! Really happy to hear that, and so glad that you're feeling better. Easier said than done but try not to get too hung up on the grading. I am sending all the positivity your way, really want this to work for you 🤞🏻💕

Thank you @LF82 and @HJen22
I've become so weepy since starting IVF and the support on this thread often makes me shed a tear 🥲♥️

Has anyone been watching the series about IVF with Alex Jones? You can watch it for free on UKTV Play. It doesn't quite get across how long the process can be but it definitely does the emotion. It kind of helped to see a load of strangers going through it too. I recommend!

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend.

LF82 · 14/01/2023 15:21

@countrypunk know what you mean about being weepy…. I haven’t even start yet and am up & down, no control of my emotions at all! Not seen the programme so might give it a go x

countrypunk · 14/01/2023 19:32

@LF82 Sending you loads of luck for this week. Let us know how you get on. It really helped me to just take it a day at a time, and be kind to yourself.
♥️🍀

LF82 · 14/01/2023 19:54

@countrypunk thank you x

HJen22 · 15/01/2023 00:05

@countrypunk I am the same, definitely more emotional 🥹 I always have been but I have cried a lot the last few years.

I have been watching it, it made me cry. But I think it's good they are doing shows like this more often, shows that it's not an easy or straightforward journey. I was also howling watching The Dog House the other day too, it always pulls at my heart strings ❤️

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I'm just home from my best friends engagement party, sober! I'm getting used to all these sober events and even enjoyed a wee dance. It will be nice when being sober at events is for the reason others normally have xx

@Cat89 glad to hear you are doing well and hope scan went well yesterday! x
@HJen22 good luck with this next upcoming cycle x
@countrypunk that good news that you are preparing for transfer again, hope this is the one x
@Crystal88 a holiday is always a good idea, we were thinking of skipping a holiday this year due to paying for all the medical costs but I think we will end up going away as it really does help through all this!

we had our consultation last week about moving to DE and over the weekend we found a donor who we were happy was a good match so we have purchased a cohort of 20 eggs! I think we will be looking at transfer early March as we need to transport DH’s frozen samples from Glasgow too 😊

countrypunk · 16/01/2023 09:00

@Hopewishprayer That's fantastic news!! And brilliant that your transfer can happen so soon. You must be very excited!

I had another scan this morning. It's day 15 of my cycle and my lining was 9 point something, and my dominant follicle was around 20mm. So all looks good but I've been tracking my LH as the clinic asked me to do and I haven't had a surge yet. Which seems weird? I've got to test again tonight and tomorrow morning and if still nothing I need to phone the clinic and make a plan. They'll do a blood test but if they can't detect an LH surge I won't have the transfer this month. Fingers crossed. Got myself psyched up for it now. Goddamn IVF rollercoaster!

LF82 · 16/01/2023 11:53

@countrypunk wishing you lots of luck! Nothing is straightforward with ivf it seems …. Which is something I am still getting my head around!

HJen22 · 16/01/2023 12:20

@countrypunk sending you lots of luck for your LH surge to come today! I'm sorry it's not been very straightforward for you, the ups and downs are a lot to deal with. I hope your clinic are taking good care of you xxx

countrypunk · 17/01/2023 12:07

@HJen22 It came!! It felt like my birthday when I saw the smiley face this morning! FET booked for Sunday. Clinic cocked up my progesterone though so I've got to go and collect it at some point this week. Luckily I've got a few left over from last time to tide me over. How are you?

@LF82 I see you're on the January thread too... I cannot get enough of wanging on about IVF to strangers on the internet it seems 😆 (not enough people in real life who understand!)

HJen22 · 17/01/2023 12:20

@countrypunk I am SO pleased for you ❤️ I actually just seen on the January thread and was going to message! Sunday will be here before you know it! Do you have scans or anything in between? Ugh annoying they cocked it up, lucky you have left! Good thank you 😊 just waiting on AF which should be any time from next Monday!

@Hopewishprayer thank you lovely ☺️ and that's great news you're getting organised with your next cycle and your donor. Have you changed clinic? Xx

OP posts:
countrypunk · 17/01/2023 12:46

@HJen22 You're so lovely. Thank you ♥️💛 No, no more scans. My clinic have just changed their protocol actually - they used to call you in on the day of your surge, but now scan you leading up to it. Which is good because it's more planned, but then I guess they don't know if you've definitely ovulated. Although I had a scan yesterday and the nurse said my follicle looked ready to pop, and I'm guessing she was right!

I hope your period is very prompt!

HJen22 · 17/01/2023 14:06

@countrypunk that's great! How many scans and apps did you have on the lead up? I have no idea how an FET works! I think it I have to do a FET with my clinic it would probably suit us to do medicated since we're far away! Thank you 😊 I hope so too! I had planned to take the whole two weeks off when we're away but my stepdaughter might be coming up 2 weeks later so I really can't afford to take 3 weeks off so early in the year. It's terrible timing again given we're hoping to do a transfer as well and would be in the Tww/testing. It's so hard to plan anything during this isn't it! Xx

OP posts:
countrypunk · 17/01/2023 14:45

@HJen22 Just two scans, one on day 10 and one on day 15. I've ovulated a bit later than usual this month, probs because of all the upheaval down there. I've been tracking since my first scan. I've done a natural FET because I have regular cycles but yeah - if I hadn't ovulated this month, I'd have had to delay till next.

So hard to plan. I'm trying to carry on as normal in this TWW because I had too much time to think about things last time. Hopefully your stepdaughter will be a good distraction!

Xx

HJen22 · 17/01/2023 15:51

@countrypunk yeah I did read if you have a regular cycle natural is a good option, great that there are no meds!

Yeah as I was typing that I did think maybe it would be a good distraction. But I'd hate to be testing when she was up with us but I'm trying to think positive 🤞🏻 we'll figure it out I'm sure. Just dying to get going again cos it feels like ages, as I'm sure it does for you! Pretty much 3 months! Everything just takes so long doesn't it xx

OP posts:
countrypunk · 17/01/2023 17:06

@HJen22 God I know. And all the while you're thinking, time is marching on and I'm getting older. I hate that all the focus is on the woman's age. I think one of the best things you can do for yourself is try and let go of the things you can't control. (Not that I've managed this yet.)

Xx
