Hi ladies

Just wondering if anyone is doing a cycle in November, looking for some cycle buddies.

I started stims yesterday, this is the 3rd cycle for us (2 NHS rounds where we didn't make it to transfer either time) and now we have signed up to a private a 3 cycle package with Create in Manchester. 3 egg collections and hopefully some embryo banking before and potential transfer. X

@Hopewishprayer good luck for today

i do think there is virus going around, i have cold and headcold and trying to suffer it out without meds as i dont want to affect the embryo. hopefully more sleep today and over the weekend will help. I am not usually ill i am blaming it on the stress 😥

countrypunk · 25/11/2022 07:34

@Crystal88 My clinic told me it was fine to use paracetamol but to avoid ibuprofen because that can affect your womb lining. Just in case that's helpful!

ohsohopeful · 25/11/2022 07:36

@Hopewishprayer classic stress dreams! I also saw nearly every hour last night. Hoping the clinic ring earlyish with day 3 update. Sending you lots of luck x

Crystal88 · 25/11/2022 07:36

@countrypunk thank you for that i might take me some paracetamol now 😁

Hopewishprayer · 25/11/2022 07:49

@Crystal88 yes my clinic said same - ok to take paracetamol

i am never ill it’s so annoying we have tonight my mother in laws birthday and tomorrow a day/night out for my best friends birthday on sunday potential transfer - I will not be moving from the couch 😂

@ohsohopeful hope you get an early call / good luck! X

Cat89 · 25/11/2022 08:22

@ohsohopeful
Good luck with the Day 3 update this morning. I'm feeling good vibes for you 😊 x

Cat89 · 25/11/2022 09:36

@Hopewishprayer ohh you're also awaiting D3 update today, good luck!!

Hopewishprayer · 25/11/2022 09:52

Thank you for the good wishes - unfortunately it’s not been a good update. All 5 embryos are showing irregular cell divisions and are showing fragmentation so now to wait until day 5 on Sunday. I have been in this position before where I ended up with nothing to transfer 😞 so although they said it could change I don’t hold much hope 🥹

HJen22 · 25/11/2022 10:41

@Crystal88 @Nikster8012 congrats ladies at officially being PUPO ❤️ I hope your transfers went smoothly and you were both able to rest afterwards. Very exciting!! Here's to a fast TWW!

@Cat89 welcome! It's so so hard to stay calm, it's a very emotional and stressful experience to go through. I'm sorry for the drop in numbers but I have everything crossed those 3 are strong fingers!! I hope you have some good news tomorrow. The wait is horrible but keep faith 🤍

@ohsohopeful ouch that doesn't sound fun. I was quite gassy for a few days after and a bit tender. I hope you're feeling better today, keep in touch with your clinic it not. Plenty rest!

@Manc80 im so very sorry to hear it was a BFN for you 😞 this really is so unfair. Enjoy that wine and be kind to yourself, do whatever you need to do to get through this. Aw thank you for all of your support on this thread too, everyone has been amazing and I've been so glad of it. We are here if you want to chat. All the love ❤️

@Hopewishprayer oh love I'm sorry it's not been the best of updates. I have been in that position too.

Sorry my post got stuck before I was finished...

@Hopewishprayer I know nothing we can say will change the worry you feel, but it is not the end. If they have said it could change, keep that in mind ❤️ when I had one embryo first cycle and was told it wasn't looking right, the embryologist was very honest with me and said it would take a miracle. Yours sounds hopeful and a lot can happen in a few days. I am praying for a good outcome for you xxx

Hopewishprayer · 25/11/2022 10:48

@HJen22 thank you ❤️
we just need to wait and see but having been here before I feel I know how it will play out.
I’ve got my best friends 40th birthday celebration tomorrow and I wasn’t going to have any alcohol but now I am of the mindset that I may as well - but then if by some miracle I do have a transfer on Sunday I’m not sure if that would impact anything ….

HJen22 · 25/11/2022 10:49

@Cat89 strong fighters not fingers! Auto correct 😂

HJen22 · 25/11/2022 10:53

@Hopewishprayer I know, it's really hard not to remember past experiences and be scared of a repeat. I really really hope that isn't the case 💕 I would feel the same, I had a drink after my first cycle as if anything it was going to be an FET. Then there was talk of fresh and I was like agh I've had a drink! It's best to think about how you'd feel if (I hope) you get to transfer and then if you'd worry about it you had had a drink. It's a tough one. Xx

OP posts:
ohsohopeful · 25/11/2022 12:01

@Hopewishprayer I'm sorry it wasn't better news, try not to lose hope. Sending lots of love. I think having a drink depends totally on whether you'd feel like it had a negative impact ie, would you beat yourself up about it further down the line. Personally I don't think 1 drink would make any difference whatsoever but can totally understand why others wouldn't feel the same x

Thinking of everyone and hoping for good news for everyone waiting for updates today ❤️❤️❤️

Ladies, I know I am very late to this thread but reading it this morning has given me hope. Currently deciding what clinic to use/type of protocol & it’s so hard! @HJen22 I have had a consultation at create Manchester so am glad you seem to have had good success with them so far x

Crystal88 · 26/11/2022 13:48

Hey all

still feeling rough sneezing and stuffy nose 😬 trying to relax and look after my embryo inside

I’ve been Googling and there something called IVF cold caused because you hormones reduce your immune system

has anyone else had similar symptoms xx

HJen22 · 26/11/2022 13:58

@LF82 never to late to join a thread, welcome ❤️ how are you? I so far have had a really good experience with Create, any questions at all please feel free to ask! Is this your first cycle?

@Crystal88 sorry to hear you're still feeling poorly 😞 hope you have a nice chilled weekend ahead and you get rid of it real soon! X

LF82 · 26/11/2022 14:09

@HJen22 I haven’t started yet - hopefully January, going to do the same process as you - the 3 attempts to get eggs but with icsi as well. It’s all very confusing if I am honest! I have just turned 40 and decided to go private as not even got a first appointment through yet on the nhs. Time is not on my side!

@Crystal88 hope you feel better very soon!

HJen22 · 26/11/2022 14:15

@LF82 we did icsi as well! I know, the NHS can take a long time. We went down for our consultation in October, down again for bloods and semen analysis then we started in my November cycle so it was super fast.

I actually asked yesterday if we could do a transfer after cycle 2. So I'm excited about that! Very much still doing a full cycle though in the hope for some more embryos. It's just hard knowing we have 3 sitting. It gets complicated in that if the transfer worked and we didn't do the 3rd cycle we'd then be charged for the 2 we did do like 2 separate and some of the costing would change, but that's for another day!

How did your initial consultation go? Every dr and nurse we had were lovely, they took such good care of us. X

OP posts:
LF82 · 26/11/2022 14:26

@HJen22 it must be so hard waiting knowing you have 3 embryos ready! My husband & I were talking about how that might feel just last night. I have my fingers crossed for you! The initial consultation was good and so were the nurses and the doc on the consultation. It’s the only consultation we have had though so I guess I don’t have much to compare to. Think we are leaning to mild ivf as opposed to conventional but really hard as we haven’t spoken to anyone about conventional. The cost of it all is scary isn’t it! Though so worth it if it’s successful x

HJen22 · 26/11/2022 14:57

@LF82 yeah I didn't expect to get 3 in the freezer first round at all. I've done two conventional cycles with NHS with no transfer. We only had the consultation there too but I got a good feeling. It is a lot of money, but you make quite a saving for 3 compared to stand alone cycles. We paid a percentage and took the rest out on interest free finance. X

Crystal88 · 26/11/2022 15:10

@LF82

i am with create in Birmingham just had my one and only NHS Cycle

i can’t complain they have been brilliant with me

i managed to get 6 eggs but only 2 fertilised. One was implanted as it was grade one

other one looks like it’s damaged and won’t be frozen but it doesn’t matter, it only takes one
🤞

if you need any advice or just to talk we are all here for you in this forum xx

LF82 · 26/11/2022 15:15

@HJen22 @Crystal88 thanks both - it makes such a difference being able to speak to people who are already on the journey at the same clinic. Sending you both lots of positive vibes! Think we will do the same as you @HJen22 in regards to paying a deposit and then on interest free credit. X

Cat89 · 26/11/2022 16:02

Had my Day 3 update today, they didn't call until 2pm which was torture! Here's the story so far.. 10 eggs collected, 8 mature, 3 fertilized, 3 ongoing at Day 3 (1 top quality, 2 average).

I was told that usually 1 in 3 will survive from D3 to D5 so fingers crossed I'll have 1 to transfer on Monday 🤞, the ability to freeze would be an unexpected bonus at this point. If on D5 Monday they're not good enough then they'll phone me by 9am to deliver the bad news and cancel the egg collection. I doubt I'll sleep well on Sunday then 😉.

My husband and I honestly were fearing the worst after the large drop in fertilization rate the other day, I thought we'd be D3 goners today! Still in the race, just about!

@LF82 Welcome!! I've found this group so helpful and a good source of support.

@Hopewishprayer sending hugs and sorry it was a mixed update. You have 5 going though, that's a good number and some can still pull through 🤞.

@Crystal88 I'm so happy that you were able to get a transfer this cycle, and a perfect grade 1 🙌. Keep us updated and sending you every bit of luck for a positive result.

@HJen22 I haven't heard of the 3 cycles plan, what was the cost out of interest? Does the cost include unlimited transfers or is that extra? You're in a very good situation, I would be delighted if I were you right now 😁. I can understand your desire to transfer after Cycle 2 (especially if as good as Cycle 1!), I think I'd be the same tbh. I guess if successful how much will you worry or miss the money?
I knew somebody who got pregnant naturally whilst waiting to start and lost £5k lol, but they were just so happy they didn't care. X
