Ivf cycle October anyone else?

Hi all, I’m day 2 of my first ever ivf cycle starting injections tomorrow. I wondered if anyone else was in the same position. Thought it might be nice to buddy up if people would find that helpful. I’m the only one in my friendship group going through this and as lush as they all are I don’t think they truly understand xx

@Sezzza when I read noodles, I started looking up noodle recipes myself!! Severe cravings!

I love the idea of the journal @Spink2022 I’ve been writing bits down of some of the symptoms I’ve been having. Stood up today and nearly fell over. I swear, if it’s not positive tomorrow, I have some serious problems hahahah.

@Sezzza you’re soooo close!!! You’ll know in like 9 hours! hopefully you get some sleep tonight! What tests are you using?
are you really faint? Make sure you’re having enough sugary stuff! Can’t have you fainting!

i had acupuncture tonight. I’ve been having it since starting ivf with a fertility specialist acupuncturist and it’s really helped with my nausea tonight. I went for dinner with my friend and ate a whole burger and chips 😂 I’m definitely all about the salt. It took me soo long to choose something on the menu though 😂😂

Nausea and insomnia has hit me. I am literally waking up at 4am and not able to get to sleep (which is unlike me). I have saved up my clearblue tests for tomorrow as it is my OTD but had a stronger positive on the cheapies today. I am addicted to testing.

@Bubbafever yay!!! So happy you’re still getting good positives and progression! Sorry about the insomnia and nausea. I’ve found I wake up at 6am for a wee every day which never happened before.

my nausea has eased since I had acupuncture yesterday! Not sure if it’s related! ive also got a sore throat.I just feel run done like I’ve got a cold coming on but I’m not sure that’s a pregnancy thing because everyone at work has had a virus 🫣I seem to get to the end of the working day and need to lie down in the dark. I don’t actually sleep but I just need to rest to get enough energy to make dinner 🤣

I did a final FRER yest and got a line stealer so I’m gonna stop now. might do a clear blue dates one at the weekend to see if it says 3+ but I’ve also heard they’re unreliable so I don’t want to worry myself.

@Sezzza do you have a scan date?

@Spink2022 i still don’t think it has sunk in. I think exhaustion has taken over and I can’t seem to compute anything. The clear blue said 2-3 weeks. How are you feeling? The acupuncture sounds amazing. I might give it a go. I was booked in for a massage but was advised to hold off for a while. Oh and I had my noodles…and a Macca’s brekkie 😂. I am so bloated that I have to unbutton my jeans in the car!! I haven’t got a scan date yet, I think they will call me in the morning. Lovely line progression. Has it been quite addictive?

I have been having lots of cramping and plenty of unpleasant gas hahaha. I am also sooooooo tired. I feel like I could sleep for a week. Where are you guys based in the UK? Would be great to keep in touch through the whole process ☺️

@Sezzza it’s such an emotionally draining day for you! But I’m glad you got lots of good food. If you’re anything like me the bloating will only get worse. I can’t bring myself to step on the scales! the gas is something else 😂 I’m sure that all the burping is what was making me so nauseous. I tired having 6 small meals today and it has helped so maybe try that?
i love food so nothing will put me off it 😂 I’ve been feeling anxious about having a missed miscarriage. A couple of my friends have had them and it’s really freaked me out. I’m just so scared something will go wrong because I’m so excited. I think that’s why Ive been doing the pregnancy tests. But now I can’t do them because of the Hook effect. I might do another clear blue weeks one at the weekend to see if it’s 3+ but I’ve heard it’s hard to get 3+ on them and I don’t want to worry myself.

Did all my tests. For some reason, the one from the hospital is quite faint. Also weirdly my afternoon tests come up heaps stronger than my FMU...

Either way, I am pregnant! Scan booked for 29th November - I'm a bit nervous.

I am based in London and my clinic is Guys.

Oh a new chain sounds good to me! Also, I do look a few weeks pregnant but I think my stomach is swollen from the lubion injections. At least it gives me an opporunity to buy maternity dungarees (which i have forever wanted!)

my clinic test was faint too because it tests at 25 units of hcg where as FRER is 6.5 so don’t worry about that. Also I imagine your afternoon is darker because you hcg will be rising so quickly! All really positive!

i feel your nerves about the scan.

morning sickness properly started for me today. I was sick twice at work but so far have managed to keep lunch down!

@Bubbafever where are you getting your maternity dungarees from? im so bloated I should buy some maternity jeans or something but I’m just so worried about issues at my scans that I can’t bring myself to buy anything! I think this is the problem with ivf pregnancies. There’s so much fear!

Yeah I am holding off till the scan just in case. I am telling my mum and sister tomorrow, mainly as I need mum's advice on the nausea!

Im still eating noodles every day 😆. I guess it could be worse. When I had my daughter nearly 11 years ago, all I craved was dirt!! Which I resisted btw hahaha.

I woke up this morning and felt like I could sleep for a week. One more client to go and then done hooray!!

@Sezzza i think I’ll just be worried now until that first scan.

the hook effect is when you get a darker line on the test line than the control line because you’re hcg is so high that if you carry on testing the line test line will then become lighter and people panic that they’re miscarrying but the tests arnt made for monitoring pregnant. Google will explain that better than me 😂

keep eating while you can incase you suddenly get sickness!! Your body clearly needs carbs! Hopefully not dirt this time 😂😂
