Ivf cycle October anyone else?

Hi all, I’m day 2 of my first ever ivf cycle starting injections tomorrow. I wondered if anyone else was in the same position. Thought it might be nice to buddy up if people would find that helpful. I’m the only one in my friendship group going through this and as lush as they all are I don’t think they truly understand xx

ive got a scan on 22nd nov so another TWW 😂😂 gunna try to stay off google and they recommend I don’t test again as long as I don’t bleed but I’m not sure I’ll hold out this time!

I also mentioned to the nurse about my light bleeding which was more of a pink discharge on my suppository applicator and she thinks it was caused by irritation from the applicator and said if it happens again to stop using it and use my finger instead. Thought id let you know incase you get something similar and panic like I did

@Spink2022 i can’t believe you are in another TWW lol. Surely one was too much hahahah. I’m still revelling in your wonderful news. I keep my OH updated and he was happy for you too. Interesting about what the nurse said. I tried the applicator once but was struggling to get the wrapping off so ditched them and use my finger instead. So much easier.

I don’t really know how I feel anymore. I am sure the further into the two week, the slower and more difficult it becomes. My boobs have been sore but not as sore as when AF comes which is usually today. I had AF life cramps last night but trying hard not to over analyse this. Of course I googled it 🙈. Thursday seems a life time away!!

@Nora11 youre sooooo close!! I was SO TEMPTED to test the day before. I was constantly dreaming about it. The day before OTD I woke up and genuinely thought I had sleep tested in the night 😂🫣 But in hindsight I’m really glad I waited until OTD. I think I would have panicked with a fainter line. Keep strong! Not long to go!

@Sezzza aww thank you you’re so sweet! It really is slow torture. And definitely the closer you get the harder it is because time drags and you can’t concentrate on anything. I might try using my finger. The packaging is really hard to open!!! I’m finding the same thing. You’re over halfway there! Keep strong and distracted! I totally recommend having the day off on results day. It was emotionally exhausting and I think that would be the case whichever way it goes.

i went out and bought a load of FRER tests and 2 clear blue digital how far along am
i ones yesterday then the nurse called and recommended I don’t test again unless I have bleeding 😂🫣

so I totally ignored that advise and did the clear blue one out of curiosity as I totally expected it to say 1-2 as people seem to get that result until about 6 week but it came out 2-3!!! So my hcg must be high. I’m certain my hcg rose yesterday because my boobs were really really painful in bed and I couldn’t lie on my side or front. I think I might need to wear a sports bra to bed! I feel a bit better for doing that test because it feels like a strong reading for such an early stage. I’m 4+3 today.

@Spink2022 having the work ‘pregnant’ must be the best feeling. The two lines are good, but there is something in the word that feels more certain. And 2-3 weeks!! How fantastic! You waited so patiently in the 2ww, I don’t blame you for totally ignoring the nurse haha. How was your Greek lunch??

@Sezzza it really is. And it was no nice to do a test with zero anxiety because I already knew it would say pregnant. The pregnant came up within a minute but the weeks took 3-4 mins.

the Greek was incredible ! Exactly what I needed. Im all over the salty carbs at the moment and I’m going to watch beauty and the beast in the theatre today so I’m really excited for that! I booked that before we started ivf when I had my surgery so it’s lush that I can go knowing I’m pregnant!! We had such a nice but exhausting day telling people our news yesterday. Everyone was crying and my OH bought loads of nosecco so we could have a celebration at each house. It felt like Christmas Day!

what have you got planned to keep you busy the next few days?

Ladies I'm really stressing, just gone to the toilet and I have some brown-pink spotting 😭 I know (as@Spink2022's experience proves!!) this doesn't mean I'm out but in combination with cramping I'm just so worried. Cramps seem partocularly bad this afternoon but it may be psychological as they seemed to get worse after seeing the spotting... I don't have an applicator with my pessaries but maybe they have still caused some irritation somehow, or implantation related...🤞 really wish this hadn't happened as the rest of the day is going to be torture!

Hi @Nora11 , I am so sorry you’ve had a really stressful day. It is such a difficult process and having some bleeding certainly does not make you feel any better. Everything I have read suggests it is quite normal and all part of it, especially with ivf. I’m sure this isn’t all that comforting but try not to worry yourself too much. I am sure everything will be ok and you’ll have a wonderful positive result tomorrow morning xx

Thanks @Sezzza❤️ It is reassuring to know it can be normal but I still can't stop obsessing over the cramps as they feel different to before. Hard to tell how the spotting is after I did my pessary 😂😅 Taking hope from the fact it wasn't red. Also I think it would be odd for it to be my period starting when I'm still on the progesterone... I just can't convince myself enough to stop worrying but at least I'll have some more info in the morning! Both my and my husband are just trying to relax and stay sane until then...! I need to get off Google as while I've seen lots of reassuring stories I've seen some sad ones too which only makes me feel worse!

Really hope I'll be posting a strong positive test in the morning! 🤞💪

@Nora11 I totally understand your panic. I did a LOT of research when I had mine and it said 50% of people pregnant from ivf had bleeding in the first trimester so please find reassurance in that. Also yours isn’t red blood and is brown so it’s old. Please try and relax the best you can. I’m proof you can get a strong positive still!! The progesterone can irritate your cervix. Also you’ve had a lot of hormones and trauma to your cervix and ovaries. Try to get some sleep tonight and in 12 hours you’ll know! 🤞🤞🤞 got everything crossed for you xx

@Nora11 I echo what the others. All my types of progesterone say they can cause spotting. Plus brown rather than red blood is likely to be irritation. Fingers crossed for you!

Unfortunately bad news for me, negative test this morning. 😔 Thank you for your words of support and comfort! Hope those of you still waiting to test get a positive result!

Lucky to have 2 in the freezer and we get 1 funded FET in our area so hopefully that will be the lucky one for us. 🤞

Right now I'm just dreading going back to work tomorrow and having to try and act normal 😮‍💨

@Spink2022 I am doing well thanks. I caved and tested early on 7dp5dt ..I saw my first ever BFP. :-) However, I am not getting too excited in case this is a chemical so will wait till OTD to celebrate.

i feel rough 😂 but I’m not complaining at all. In fact it makes it feel like my body is working if that makes sense? The nausea is really kicking in. It’s pretty early. I’m 5Ws tomorrow

@Spink2022 that makes total sense! I am still at symptom spotting stage. I have the oddest dreams recently.

@Bubbafever youre so close!! I was majorly symptom spotting then. What symptoms are you getting?

Just the tiredness, headaches, weird dreams and a bit of pain like period pain. It is hard because these are all period symptoms (except th dreams) for me.

I am fighting negativity at the moment. The last couple of days have been super tough. I’m at the stage now where I just want to know either way.

@Spink2022 how are you? 5 weeks, that’s just awesome. I’m so happy for you. As the days go on, I seem to be convincing myself that it hasn’t worked. Roll on Thursday!!!

@Sezzza keep strong! You’ve done so so well. It definitely gets harder the couple of days before. Even when we were waiting for the results I said to my OH what if it’s negative! But it totally could be positive too!

Just try to find some sort of distractions tomorrow if that is even possible and then you’ll be testing.

have you made any nice plans for Thurs regardless of the outcome?

i think I’ve started to feel morning sickness today which seems really early but I’m not sure if it is. Food definitely settles it but I also don’t feel like eating a lot of the time now 😂 and I cannot got the life of me say what I want. I’m driving my OH insane 😂😂 I can definitely say what I don’t want to eat tho 🫣

@Spink2022 your message made me laugh 😂. You’re pregnant, you don’t need to know what you want hahahah.

We are going to go out for lunch in Thursday, not sure where but as long as it has noodles I’ll be happy. I can’t stop eating them 😆. Then maybe a bit of retail therapy.

I am! I’m desperate to tell people but we are waaaayyyy off that! I started a little journal of our ivf journey for our baby incase it works so im going to start writing a weekly update which will hopefully help pass the time and help me to remember how magical it is. I havnt been able to get the app yet that tells you what you baby is doing now but im going to do it after the scan and I know we’re okay and how many we have in there!!!

lunch including noodles and retail therapy are definitely the way to go! If you get a positive 🤞 then I 100% recommend buying things a size bigger or stretchy. Some of my clothes don’t fit. I think I’ve got progesterone overload.
