Ivf cycle October anyone else?

Hi all, I’m day 2 of my first ever ivf cycle starting injections tomorrow. I wondered if anyone else was in the same position. Thought it might be nice to buddy up if people would find that helpful. I’m the only one in my friendship group going through this and as lush as they all are I don’t think they truly understand xx

@APSR its such a tough process, the worst. How little control we have just makes it even more difficult. Take time for you today. I’m thinking of you and hoping for better news on Tues xx

@APSR so sorry to read things don't seem to be going well 😢 have you had the results from the blood test? It's just so unfair with everything you are having to put yourself through. Really hope you are able to keep going and things look better at the next scan 🤞

@Nobabyyet20 how did your scan go on Friday? Apparently things were looking on the right track at mine. I am starting to feel quite achy today!

blood reports should be out but I’m yet to check with the clinic. Tue have got scan and blood test again then after comparing the 2 reports decision whether to proceed or not will be taken 😢

@Nora11 glad things were looking on track in your last scan. Yeah I’ve been quite achey, so tired too. Yeah all ok in my last scan still looking good for a fresh transfer! My egg collection is Monday, I’m feeling really nervous. I’ve got all my hopes on this fresh transfer but I know anything can happen.

I am in for another scan and will hopefully find out my collection date - the nurse last time predicted Wednesday or Friday. Really hope they have been growing well over the weekend!

went a bit too well they collected 24 which means I’m at risk of OHSS so have to wait 2 months for embryo transfer. I know it sounds ridiculous especially if people haven’t responded well but I’m gutted. Was really hoping to have transfer later this week. Just not sure what to do with myself for the next 2 months. X

@Nobabyyet20 glad to hear they collected so many but sorry that you will have to wait for the transfer. I don't think it's ridiculous at all, to get to the point of doing IVF you've already done so much waiting... Any more just seems unbearable even when you know it's not long in the scheme of things and will lead to a better outcome. Hope those eggs turn into lots of strong, healthy embryos ready for the transfer and that you find something to pass away the time.

I had another scan today and my follicles are growing but not quite ready, so I have another scan on Wednesday and hoping for collection on Friday 🤞 So far there is still a possibility of a fresh transfer but a good chance I'll end up in the same boat as you@Nobabyyet20.

@Nora11 thank you so much. Yeah I just think it’s soo much waiting, I’m not very good at that. I think I’m just gonna try and crack on now maybe go back to the gym, do some nice things treat myself to the odd glass of wine and I’m sure January will be here in no time.

Hey ladies, i just started ivf for the first too. I'm on day 3. Hating the injections but my husband suggested using needles for diabetes. They are much smaller and gentler 🙏🏽 sending positivity to everyone

Had scan and hormonal blood tests today. Got 8 follicles. Scan again tomorrow and depending on blood reports and scan egg collection either on Friday or Saturday.

Got my collection tomorrow. Feeling excited to move onto the next step. Looking like we have 8-10 folicules. Any advice for the collection or recovery?

had scan today follicle count went down to 6. Had 8 till yesterday and only 6 today so cycle has been aborted. Extremely disappointed. Don’t know what to do next and whether I should continue doing this at all.

I'm sorry to hear that. All that hard work phsyically and emotionally. Can you take a small break and decide later?

Don’t know what to do. Feel like giving up. My body has a tendency to produce cysts and this cycle I did not have any cyst but still cycle got cancelled due to low follicle count don’t know if I take a break and end up with a cyst next time how things would proceed then .

I'm a little bit ahead as I started my injections end of August but this was my first round of IVF and it was successful :) although I'm not at the same stage as you I am happy to me your buddy and answer any questions and be a support 😊 got my fingers crossed for you!!

I am currently waiting for my day 2 update and starting to go crazy as they said they'd ring in the morning and it's past 11 now. They collected 13 eggs (a bakers dozen! 😂) but I know on my scans I had a lot of smaller eggs so hoping a good proportion of them were mature enough to use... On the plus side I haven't had any signs of OHSS so hoping for a transfer next week as long as everything else is going okay 🤞

Anyone out here on growth hormone to improve egg count / quality at all ? My consultant is Pluto try growth hormone for the next round.

@APSR I’m so sorry to hear that 🥺 do you know why they decided to suspend the cycle? I’m asking because I initially had 8 follicles, then 5 and on egg collection day they got 7 eggs but only 4 were mature enough. Out of the 4 only 2 got fertilised and 1 of them transferred, the other one didn’t develop so nothing to freeze…I’m keeping my fingers crossed as this is truly hard. But they never mentioned suspending the cycle…
Haven’t heard of the growth hormone to improve egg count tbh but please keep us posted!
If any of you ladies are currently on progesterone and heparin injections just saying that it gets better. I got such a bad reaction the first 2 days that I was very very close to giving up the treatment, hence why I haven’t been posting in a while.

I had my egg collection weds. They thought I had 7 eggs but when they did the collection I only had 3 and I had grown cysts instead. Totally unexpected and a compete shock. i have no idea why it happened.

luckily 2/3 fertilised and on day 3 both had 8 cells so we’re keeping everything crossed for a transfer tomorrow morning. We’re praying for 2 strong blastocysts but they said they expect only 50% to make it to day 5 from day 3. With such small numbers we will be really grateful for 1!
