Hi everyone.

I wanted to start a thread for anyone going through an IVF round in the next few weeks. I am currently on my third round of ICSI after a MMC at 9weeks on cycle 1 and a BFN on cycle 2. Third time lucky, I hope!

IVF can feel like a very lonely place sometimes so it's nice to have somewhere to vent and get advice 🙂

Thanks @Tonim86 I'm going to test again tomorrow but I'm sure we're out, there would be a line by now. That was our last embryo and third loss so we need to do a whole new cycle. I know I need to carry on with meds etc until OTD but going to call the clinic today to get an idea of how long until we can do that. Also going to have to tell family and friends I think as will need them to help with childcare for appointments. I'm not sure how much more I can take emotionally to be honest but find it helpful to be thinking practically about next steps! I really hope you get your BFP tomorrow x

@Eggling I'm so sorry lovely- be kind to yourself over these next few days/ weeks. Defo speak to clinic re next steps- it's not over yet- there's always other things to try x

Zik · 13/10/2022 12:06

@Tonim86 what symptoms are you having presently

Nobabyyet20 · 13/10/2022 13:10

@Eggling I am so sorry. I agree maybe test in a few days but look after yourself in the interim. Thinking of you x

Tonim86 · 13/10/2022 17:45

@Eggling I can imagine the next few days are going to be hard and then mentally preparing for another round on top of all those emotions too. I hope your family reach out to support you. I'm hoping to still test tomorrow, I don't want to seem insensitive so if I plan to post the result around 10am whatever that is so you have the heads up whether to see it or not or prepared to know it will be there.
I hope the clinic was able to give you some advice today.

@Zik I kind feel like I have lots of cramping etc but very similar to monthly cycle I just don't know if it's my brain playing head games, the medication, a good result or the start of AF I just can't tell the difference. Are you experiencing anything yet?

Eggling · 13/10/2022 18:03

Aww @Tonim86 bless you not at all, keeping everything crossed you get good news tomorrow!

Nobabyyet20 · 13/10/2022 19:49

good luck for tomorrow @Tonim86. wishing you all the best wishes.

did anyone feel pms like symptoms when they were stimming? Got my 2nd scan tomorrow but my boobs are swollen and I’m a bit achey x day 8 of stims x

countrypunk · 13/10/2022 20:25

Hello everyone, can I join? I started on the drug regime today, actual transfer (all being well) won't be until mid November. This is our first round. We've been trying for our first for 2 years and I'm 38. Feels like a long road ahead yet but I'm trying to focus on each step rather than the whole process.

And now I'll go back and read the full thread Smile

bathbombaholic · 13/10/2022 20:29

@Tonim86 good luck for tomorrow! Everything crossed for you 🤞🏼

@Nobabyyet20 I've had sore boobs since around the same time and it's constant now. My dog keeps jumping on me and omg 🥴🥴🥴

Nobabyyet20 · 13/10/2022 21:41

@bathbombaholic ah that’s good to know, where are you with your cycl? Sorry I’ve lost track.

@countrypunk welcome, wishing you all the best with your first round. Hope your feeling ok, my first round too trying for 3 years. Definitely good idea to take it each step although easier said than done I know x

countrypunk · 13/10/2022 22:15

Thank you @Nobabyyet20 ❤️ pretty apprehensive about the ovaleap and the egg retrieval procedure but yeah, must not get ahead of myself!

Best wishes to everyone, so hoping for the happiest outcomes for us all.

Nobabyyet20 · 14/10/2022 07:10

@countrypunk thats totally understandable. Im not sure if this is helpful or not but I was so apprehensive but I have actually felt okay on overleap, more headaches and tiredness than normal but mostly Ok. For me personally it was the waiting that was harder now I feel like I’m doing something but everyone is different and responds differently. Hopefully you have a good support system around you and you can plan nice things in to help you feel good and settled x

bathbombaholic · 14/10/2022 07:17

@Nobabyyet20 I'm having transfer tomorrow morning (all being well of course) sooooo nervous 😬

@countrypunk you will be fine, the ovaleap was actually really easy for me and I was dreading it too. And I know everyone is different for egg retrieval but I was asleep through the whole thing and as long as you keep on top of paracetamol you won't feel too much/ any pain after. All I had a was a bit of an uncomfortable feeling- like a mega bloat really. Wishing you all the luck in the world x

Tonim86 · 14/10/2022 09:56

8DP5DT BFP 😭😭

I did cave and test yesterday I just knew I wouldn't sleep with tests in the house. Let's hope for a smooth pregnancy and a healthy baby 💗💙

countrypunk · 14/10/2022 10:51

Thank you @Nobabyyet20 and @bathbombaholic That's a massive comfort! I get quite severe rage with my PMT so I'm assuming ovaleap will be nightmarish but hopefully not

Congratulations @Tonim86 AMAZING news! ❤️❤️❤️

bathbombaholic · 14/10/2022 10:51

@Tonim86 omgggg yesssss!!! Congratulations that's fantastic news! 🥳🥳🥳 wishing you all the best lovely!! I bet you're absolutely buzzing! X

Zik · 14/10/2022 11:05

@Tonim86 big congratulations i tap into this news for myself as well.
Pls wat did u do differently after your transfer and how many embryos did you transfer

Eggling · 14/10/2022 11:16

Congratulations @Tonim86 so happy for you!! I'm going to bow out of this thread now, wishing you all positive outcomes and happy and healthy pregnancies!

Achaps · 14/10/2022 11:19

@Tonim86 congratulations, great to hear some positive news 🥰
@countrypunk welcome all the best for your journey! I also had ovaleap and all went well for me - strangely I wasn’t overly emotional at all (fortunately for my husband) but did get awful boob pain and the usual bloating/headaches.
Ive got my ER follow up scan shortly to make sure Ive recovered fully after my OHSS risk - I feel fine but always reassuring to know what’s going on inside 😅

Tonim86 · 14/10/2022 11:23

@Eggling I'm wishing you all the success in the future, it's a difficult journey I hope one day you get your miracle

@countrypunk @bathbombaholic thank you both I'm very happy it's hardly sunk in yet I'm sure it will soon. Due to my daughters diagnosis I'm cautiously excited we did do genetic testing but that trauma will always be a part of me but I will be as positive as I can be.

@Zik I haven't done nothing out of the ordinary, ate the same, took the same trying for a baby vitamins tried to relax when I could but I'm a working mom of a disabled child life is hectic. I would say I just tried to stay positive and not stress to much somethings are just out of our control and this is one of them. Go easy on yourself 💗

Tonim86 · 14/10/2022 11:23

Thank you @Achaps xx

Nobabyyet20 · 14/10/2022 12:09

@bathbombaholic good luck for tomorrow! Wishing you all the baby dust possible!!

@Tonim86 congratulations I am so happy for you!! Such amazing news.

I had my second scan today all looking good and booked in for egg retrieval on Monday! I am naturally a very excitable and positive person they were concerned I would get OHSS and have to wait for transfer but atm it’s looking like a I could have a fresh. I just can’t help but feel excited about that but I’m really trying to manage it cause I know I will come crashing down if it doesn’t work. 😞 my husband is also more stressed than me about Monday any ideas on how to support him would be great I thought it’d be the other way around! X

Hi all. Very pleased to find you all and be able to share the ups and downs. I have one child already and am just starting the IVF journey. I have just had my first consultation and have been recommended to take Coenzyme q10, omega3, folic acid 400mcg and vit D 2000iu. Just wondering where peeps buy their supplements? any recommendations?

b0zza1 · 14/10/2022 13:27

oh and DHEA!
