IVF cycle Sept/Oct 2022

Hi everyone.

I wanted to start a thread for anyone going through an IVF round in the next few weeks. I am currently on my third round of ICSI after a MMC at 9weeks on cycle 1 and a BFN on cycle 2. Third time lucky, I hope!

IVF can feel like a very lonely place sometimes so it's nice to have somewhere to vent and get advice 🙂

Hii had my transfer today. 2 blastocysts were transferred.

@RoseLlo great news about your embryos. Hope your doing okay, do you have a transfer booked?

@Eggling I'm going insane tbh 😩😂 I can't imagine I'm going to wait much longer worn out testing I don't remember it being this bad last time either I'm thinking about testing Friday so nervous.

@Tonim86 well I'm sorry to hear you're finding it rough too but relieved it's not just me. I'm WFH today and have honestly spent most of the day in tears over daft videos on the internet. We are really unhelpfully away at my in laws this weekend for a family party so planning to test Thursday as we'll both be at home. I'm terrified too - virtual hand hold!

@Eggling oh I hope you get a BFP when is your OTD i worked from home yesterday and went a bit crazy today was ok as I was in the office. I'm going to order my tests tomorrow so by the time they come Thursday I won't test till Friday as I won't get home till 7pm on Thursday night. Although I think I always seem to have more ''symptoms'' in the afternoon. Will be thinking of you on Thursday x

Thanks @RoseLlo 😊 @Tonim86 OTD isn't until the 19th but there's no way I can wait that long! I alternate between wanting to test right now and wanting to never test. I'm in the office tomorrow so hopefully that will be a distraction at least!

@Eggling oh how weird mine is the 18th yeah same the realisation of what a test means. Put your life into one plastic test 😩 I'm the same I will be terrified xx

@RoseLlo ah that’s great news about your embryos 🙏 so I guess you’ll be heading back to Czech for your transfer? Bet you can’t wait to get home now though!

Pls I need tips from those who have gone through these before and have been successful..what can I start taking or doing to maximise my chances?

@Zik after transfer all you can do is try to relax and not stress to much (easier said than done I know) i don't think there's anything you really can do now you have done all you can, best of luck

I was also prescribed HCG injection to take 2 days after transfer alongside cyclogest. any idea what the HCG injection is for?

Lovely seeing everyone's updates. To the girls in the 2ww I think it's going to be all about distraction distraction distraction til OTD.

Just a little one from me- I had egg collection on Monday- 5 eggs collected and 4 fertilised. Transfer will be on saturday all being well x

i had my first scan today I had 24 follicles but only 8 over 10, 3 at 12mm and 2 at 14mm. She said i was responding normally and wasn’t concerned about over response atm. I can’t help but think is that enough? I’ve been told so much I’m going to over respond it almost feels a bit weird I haven’t! Next scan on Friday and retrieval booked for Monday. Anyone else had similar experience? I’m also trying not to get hopes up I’ll be able to have a fresh transfer but have failed at that today.

I hope time speeds up for you ladies so test day is here soon!!

i had my first scan Monday and only had 7 folicules ranging from 6-13mm. Next scan Friday. Hopefully EC Monday or Tues depending on my scan Friday. Im not feeling massively positive given how few folicules I have but it only takes one and hopefully they’ll be good quality!

@Nobabyyet20 I'm feeling ok at the moment, didn't have any pain but been reeeeally tired tho I suppose my sleep is a bit all over due to the anxiety of everything so just riding it for now.

@Spink2022 I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry. I only had 8 follicles and still got 4 fertilised eggs- it really is quality over quantity in this game. And still lots of time for them to grow x

@Zik sorry no advice on the hcg trigger but if you test early you may need to wait till the trigger is out of your system
@bathbombaholic that's sounds like great news I hope this week goes well looking forward to hearing updates on the transfer
@Nobabyyet20 sounds like they doing well and smaller ones still got plenty of time to catch up
@Spink2022 after my first follicle check I had 12 and then by EC there was 25 suddenly loads appeared in the last couple of days, however it is always quality of quantity. I hear so many stories where people get lots but end up being poor quality. Hope the next week goes well for you both.

I'm 6DP5DT and I nearly cracked today in the shops looking for a test however they only had clear blue I have ordered my FRER off Amazon arriving tomorrow so only need to hold out a little while I'm going to test Friday. I ended up buying some chocolate to compensate not buying a test the struggle is real

im so glad you bought chocolate to compensate! I think we all need treats right now! Especially on your Tww. Let us know your results when you test! I know I’ll be climbing the walls when I’m in the Tww so think I might have to get my OH to hide the tests 😂😂

@Nobabyyet20 I also found that a load more appeared between my last two scans, plus as has been said it's quality not quantity. Great that everything seems to be going well.

Glad you've got chocolate @Tonim86! I've been a bit more distracted today as been in the office but the anxiety has resurfaced now I'm home. Still Not sure I'm actually going to have the guts to test tomorrow. We'll have to see!

@Spink2022 ahh sorry that you don’t feel positive but it’s sounds like things can change so rapidly with this process. I know it’s easier said than done but maybe plan some nice things before your next scan?
@bathbombaholic so glad your feeling okay. Lots of rest it’s a huge thing you’ve just been through.
@Tonim86 i have lost count at how many tests I’ve done over the years, chocolate sounds like a good alternative! Good luck for Friday.

I’m waiting for my cycle to start (hoping it comes soon) so I can start on stims!

@Zik my understanding is HCG injection is to trigger maturation of follicles (taken 36 hours before egg collection). I would certainly clarify with your clinic if they have told you something different as each case is different.

@Eggling I'm so sorry to read this 😢 will you test again over the next few days or hold out till OTD I hope you have a late implantation. This process is so cruel please go easy on yourself and plan something nice 💗 xx
