I’m preparing to start my treatment cycle in a month or so and thought it might be helpful to start up a thread for anyone heading for FET soon.

This will be my first FET so I’m nervous but also feeling hopeful having gone through a fair amount of testing and treatment. Think I’m about as prepared as I’ll ever be!

Current cycle finally got going two days ago after a bit of a delay and I’ve decided to use it to focus on eating well and getting into the right headspace.

Anyone at a similar stage and want some company?

That’s a lovely idea @rollercoastertobaby. I have a little onesie that I bought recently and keep next to my bed. I saw it online, wasn’t looking for baby clothes, but fell a little bit in love with it. I think it’s important for us to experience the hopeful and joyful bits too 💛

@rollercoastertobaby this is such a lovely idea. I've never allowed myself to buy anything and I almost went into a baby shop yesterday and stopped myself but I do think it's important for us to be hopefully and optimistic too!!! I'll give that podcast a listen. Thanks for the rec!

@Pepsipoo hopefully by the weekend you'll have a positive test. sending good thoughts your way xox

SarahC1985 · 16/09/2022 21:06

Aw @Pepsipoo I'm so so sorry. Did you use the FRER?

SarahC1985 · 17/09/2022 14:06

I did yes. Am OK trying to have a positive mind really going to try natural for a few months and the one last go at IVF. I think what is sad is that this frosty was from the same cycle as my little girl, but it wasn't meant to be. Onwards and upwards. Hope you have a healthy pregnancy. Keep us updated x

MyEasterEggs · 17/09/2022 19:34

Sorry you haven’t had a positive result from this cycle @Pepsipoo. Sending you lots of love and luck for the coming months x

SarahC1985 · 17/09/2022 23:08

@Pepsipoo I'm so glad you have a plan going forward and giving yourself a break from all the meds will be no bad thing. Please keep us updated as to how you are xx

LT103 · 18/09/2022 09:31

@Pepsipoo still keeping everything crossed for you. When is OTD?

LT103 · 18/09/2022 09:33

We had our 2nd FET yesterday. Everything went fine. Got my injection of ovitrelle there so no more medication which I still can’t get my head around but it’s how my clinic always do it. The ovitrelle means I can’t test wary really as I’ll get a false positive. I tested loads last time and it was gone by about 5/6dpt. I’m holding off this time. I spotted before test date last time and still got a positive but we went on to have the empty sac/miscarriage and surgical management at 8wks.

werw def not testing early this time so test date is 27th

MyEasterEggs · 18/09/2022 16:51

Wishing you lots of luck @LT103 I think a few of you are PUPO! I’ve started meds now and head to London Tuesday for first scan. Fingers crossed all is well and I can carry on 🤞🏻

Hi ladies

So I had my second scan today (after baseline), I’m on Day 10 of my cycle. I was expecting another scan on Wed and Fri but the nurse said I’m ready to trigger tomorrow. Leading follicle is 16mm. Now this would all be exciting but I’m not sure what to do because best friend just tested positive for covid and I spent all day with her on Saturday. Nervous that I will have covid by transfer…I spoke to two different nurses. One said to cancel the cycle if I have covid. The other said ‘It’s up to you’. I’m aware that we are going into winter and I’ll probably get it anyway from my child being at school. Last year I got covid in January despite being double vaccinated and having had the booster four weeks before being exposed to it. Sorry for the brain dump. I was hoping to feel excited at this point but I’m just nervous covid will scupper my plans, my main concern is I don’t think it’d want to go ahead if I had it for fear it could affect the embryo but the second nurse I spoke to said there has been no evidence of that so maybe I should go ahead regardless?

Hopeful199 · 19/09/2022 19:46

@rollercoastertobaby ultimately it is a very personal decision however if it were me I would go ahead.

my clinic don’t test before collection or transfer now and if they thought there was a genuine risk they definitely would. They don’t even ask for home tests.

but you have to do what feels right for you xx

MyEasterEggs · 19/09/2022 20:24

Same as @Hopeful199. I understand your doubts and fears but I also think you have everything to be hopeful about given today’s scan. It’s unfortunate, yes, but my understanding is that it’s not harmful. My clinic gave stopped testing now too!

Hi all, I'm on day 8 of of estradiol medication awaiting my FET, I have a scan on day 13 to check my lining, how long after this should I expect transfer? TIA Blush

SarahC1985 · 19/09/2022 23:09

@rollercoastertobaby do what is right for you. I think we all have the potential to come into contact with covid now, it's so common.

SarahC1985 · 19/09/2022 23:11

I tested again this evening and the test was lovely but now I'm cramping and have some fresh red bleeding again. I can't settle myself again. I've messaged the clinic but I imagine they won't do anything. I'm 18DP5DT so I'm still too early to scan. I just have a really bad feeling about all this bleeding I've had.

MyEasterEggs · 20/09/2022 06:47

@dlkiik it varies and depends on the thickness of your lining. I’m at the same stage as you and have my first scan tomorrow and expect my transfer to be day 20/21 based on my mock cycle, but it could be a day earlier or later. I’ve read about some people having transfers much sooner!

MyEasterEggs · 20/09/2022 06:48

@SarahC1985 are you on blood thinners? I’m hopeful the clinic will have some advice but I’ve seen women bleed profusely and still go on to have healthy pregnancies. So don’t lose hope 💛 xx

@MyEasterEggs no I'm not. I wish I could believe for 1 minute that I will be able to carry this pregnancy

Hopeful199 · 20/09/2022 13:15

Oh @SarahC1985 I have been where you are and it is so difficult.

These situations can work out though ( I have many freinds who have had bleeding in successful pregnancies) so I am sending all positive vibes your way that yours progresses too.

Thinking of you x

Yeah it all seems to vary a lot! I'm hoping/thinking it'll be Monday/Tuesday next week. Let me know how your scan goes. Grin
